What I Say:
Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Hydrating Gel
Oil-Free – that is one long name!! Even longer than one other famously known
Clinique moisturiser.
I love Estee Lauder products. Well my bank balance doesn’t, but my skin
sure loves it!! I recently reviewed the new Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipgloss
and Lipstick from the new Violet Underground collection, and again, amazing
products!!
Now back to the Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing
Line/Wrinkle Hydrating Gel Oil-Free…or let’s just call it ATZ Hydrating Gel. I
have combination skin, often prone to breakouts, and sadly, in spite of
starting to see the signs of ageing with more and more lines, often anti-ageing
products are simply too heavy and concentrated for my skin. Within days my skin
feels suffocated and start to break out.
The
moisturiser is a light, luxurious oil-free gel, which has a quite strong floral
scent, very similar to most other Estee Lauder moisturisers. I quite like the
scent, so it doesn’t bother me at all, and once the cream has absorbed into the
skin, the scent does fade rather quickly.
The gel
contains a tiny amount of shimmer, although this is so little, that in a bad
light you might miss this completely. But again, as it is so little it far from
makes your skin look like a glitter ball, rather it gives it a nice sheen and
glow.
The gel is
absorbed very quickly, leaving a matte finish on the skin, yet making it feel
and look thoroughly moisturised. The gel helps control sebum on oily skin,
especially the T-zone, which also means that it is a fantastic base for makeup as
prevents my combination skin from getting too shiny during the day, and
actually helps make my makeup look fresher for longer.
The gel is oil-free
is also non-acnegenic and has been dermatologist-tested, and I comes in a pale lilac pump bottle with a gold
lid and a pump, which personally I find very handy as well as very hygienic
compared to moisturisers in jars. But how easy it will be to completely empty
the bottle, only time will tell.
After now
having used the moisturiser for about a month as a day cream, I’m absolutely
loving it. My skin is thoroughly moisturised, and looks fresh and glowing, and yet
in spite of the hot and humid weather, my skin seems to be less greasy, and
pores seems to be smaller. As for reducing the fine lines and wrinkles, I have
to admit that it has not ‘reversed age’ and completely gotten rid of them,
although they definitely do appear to have diminished. But as the as the gel is
so moisturising, it kind of works like a putty filling up all the lines,
leaving the skin silky smooth ready for makeup. It works like a primer, only it
is so much better because of the anti-ageing ingredients in the gel.
Although
the gel is also intended to be used as a night cream, as it is certainly moisturising
enough for my combination skin, however, as I really like how it makes my skin
feel matte during the day, I have decided to save it for that purpose only, and
continue using my normal night cream at night.
The gel is
very concentrated, so you only need to use a little, so a bottle will last you
a long time. But on the negative side, at $98 for 50ml, it is one of the more expensive moisturisers on the
market.
All in all,
I really like it, as for once, an anti-ageing moisturiser actually agrees with
my skin without making it breakout, and that is a nice change knowing that it
is actively looking after and hydrating my ageing skin without suffocating it,
at the same time as it is keeping my combination skin matte and shine-free during
the day.

Yeah, sadly great anti-ageing are usually not cheap. But personally, I do find that it is worth it, and I'd rather invest in good skincare and save elsewhere on some of my makeup items!
DeleteThis sounds great, but wow it's so pricey! I am glad I don't really need super anti-aging serums yet :)
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky, enjoy it while you can!!
DeleteHappy i stumbled on this review... it has helped me make up my mind to try the EL ATZ Gel. I never use heavy make up or foundations (i tend to only use bare minerals loose powder), so maintaining great skin is very important to me. I am off to Harrods tomorrow then...
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I have long used up this cream now, but I so loved it as it was so great on my combination skin, so I have it on my list to get again! I hope you'll love it as much as I do!
DeleteIt gets really confusing to choose the better products but it is important for everyone to be a little cautious while buying those creams as they might not suit your skin as it does to others. I suggest to try the natural age reducing cream which has almost 0% side effects and performs equally well.
