Product News: Clinique Launches Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream

It has been a while since Clinique first launched Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector, which my ageing skin absolutely love, so I was very excited when I found out that Clinique is not also launching Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream.

The Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream is formulated with the same patented technology found in Clinique’s powerful wrinkle-fighting serum, and the eye cream is uniquely designed to help repair the visible signs of aging around the entire eye area.

"Young skin is strong and resilient. However, as we age, skin loses elasticity, density and essential moisture, making it more difficult to bounce back from facial expressions," says Dr. David Orentreich, Clinique’s Guiding Dermatologist. "Repetitive facial movements such as smiling and squinting cause skin to constantly fold and crease leading to what is known as a 'dynamic wrinkle.' As we continue to age, skin can begin to sag, causing these wrinkles to become even more pronounced."

Clinique continues to look at new ways to put its products to the test, so in addition to its traditional static lines and wrinkles testing, Clinique looked at how Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream addresses dynamic wrinkles. The aptly named "Smile Test" was constructed to examine the reduction of the appearance of "smile lines" around the eye area. These are lines that appear when actively smiling. Panelists were evaluated when actively smiling before using the product and were then instructed to use the product for 12 weeks. After the 12 weeks, their "active" smile lines were evaluated again. The results – a noticeable 54% reduction in active smile lines around the eye area.

Clinique’s new Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream takes a multipronged approach to address the entire eye area resulting in a more refreshed, youthful appearance, by repairing UV damage and protecting against environmental aggressors. Years of UV exposure can also directly damage cellular DNA causing a breakdown of natural collagen and elastin, and lines and wrinkles to form. Formulated with a key ingredient found in the powerful Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector, this new de-aging eye cream helps visibly reverse the effects of past UV damage.

Encapsulated Micrococcus Lysate (Ultrasomes found in the powerful serum) - an extract of powerful enzymes that come from the organism Micrococcus Luteus, one of the most UV-resistant organisms known to science. It works over time to gradually help repair the appearance of skin damage resulting from direct UV exposure, the leading cause of premature aging.

It also contains Vitamin C and E, antioxidants which are helping fight free radicals from environmental aggressors to prevent future damage, and visibly improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and overall texture.

Within 12 weeks, the eye cream promises visibly repairs crow’s feet, crepey eyelids and undereye cross hatching; the thin lines that cross over and intersect one another under the eye.

The eye cream among others also contains Purified Whey Protein, a natural, high-quality polypeptide, rich in amino acids that help rebuild the skin to provide a better support structure, as well as Chlorella Vulgaris, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide and Siegesbeckia Orientalis Extract , which work together to stimulate natural collagen and elastin production to help plump the skin and strengthen its ability to bounce back. Skin is more resilient, and looks and feels smoother and firmer.

The skin around the eye is approximately one tenth the thickness of the skin on the palm and is prone to dryness due to reduced oil glands and external assaults that can cause the skin to become even thinner and drier. Keeping delicate skin around the eyes moisturized helps visibly reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, creating soft, supple skin. This new eye cream hydrates skin immediately and over time, significantly increasing the barrier strength. In fact, clinical tests show that after 12 weeks, skin’s barrier strength increases by 72%. Having a strong moisture barrier prepares the skin for additional treatment ingredients.

The Rosemary Leaf Extract strengthens skin’s protective barrier from environment aggressors and stimulates natural collagen synthesis without irritation, while Cucumber/Barley/Sunflower Extract mimic skin’s lipid membrane to help build the skin’s barrier repair function. And finally, Trehalose, a sugar derived ingredient that stabilizes the structure of the skin lipid system which maximizes skin’s natural ability to attract moisture from the environment.

The eye cream is to be used morning and night over the entire eye area, including eyelid. It is dermatologist tested, allergy tested and 100% fragrance free, and it is safe to use on all skin types and tones.

Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream is available for an RRP of $55.00 (15ml) from 31st March 2013 at Clinique counters nationwide and at Clinique Online www.clinique.com.au

To me this sounds pretty impressive, and so I was naturally excited when I was offered to trial this new wonder eye cream. And I already love it, but will wait with my final verdict until I have used it for a little longer, so stay tuned for my review!
