PRODUCT REVIEW // DERMALOGICA SOUND SLEEP COCOON FROM RY

We have always been told that the skin does its best repair work at night while we sleep, so in response, Dermalogica has developed the perfect response, the Sound Sleep Cocoon Transformative Night Gel-Cream. I've put it to the test thanks to RY
The Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon is a night cream that claims to transform your skin overnight, helping to optimise the skins night-time recovery, rejuvenate the complexion and promote a deeper and more restful sleep to help fight signs of fatigue, restore vitality and leave skin softer, brighter and more hydrated. It contains among others;

• Persian Silk Tree Extract - to reduce the signs of skin fatigue , plump the tired skin and restore vitality
• Wu-Zhu-Yu Extract - to illuminate dull skin and provide visibly radiant skin in the morning. 
• Kakadu Plum to boost antioxidants in the skin to protect and even skin tone
• Tamarind Seed Extract - for nourished comfort for softer, more hydrated skin
• French Lavender Essential Oil (with Sandalwood and Patchouli) that are calming and soothing and encapsulated, motion-activated to work all night to promote deep, restful sleep for healthier-looking skin by morning

My combination skin is often not agreeing with heavy night creams, so I am absolutely loving this light gel formula that absorbs instantly into the skin leaving it feeling silky soft and smooth, and without any greasiness, and without making my skin feel congested or make it breakout. The Sound Sleep Cocoon is to be used at night, after toner and serum, as the cream. It is recommended for all skin types, and for my combination skin it provides sufficient moisture, but if you do have dry skin, I am not sure if it would be hydrating enough, but Dermalogica does state that you can use it on top of your usual moisturiser to enhance moisture if needed.

It does have a slightly strong lavender scent, so if you don’t like scented products, then this product is probably not for you. My husband has also commented on the scent when I get into bed, but personally I don’t mind it. Does it actually have the ability to help me relax more and promote a deeper and more restful sleep, I am not sure as it is one of those things you cannot measure, but I do love how it makes my skin feel and look in the morning after use. Soft and simply glowing. I am yet to see any major difference or improvement in my skin tone, but my skin does feel very hydrated, and also look more awake and simply radiant.

The Sound Sleep Cocoon comes in the coolest tub with a twist mechanism that unlocks it and then you can gently push it on top to dispense the product, easy and also very hygienic which I really like. I also really like the Dermalogica products are free from artificial fragrances and colours, and that they are paraben-free and of course cruelty-free too.

On the negative, again I just want to mention the scent which can be a little strong for some, and also that you unfortunately cannot tell how much product you’ve got left int the jar, which I personally always find a little frustrating. It is also a little on the pricey side.

That said, overall I am really enjoying this Sound Sleep Cocoon from Dermalogica, regardless of it actually helps me sleep any better, I do love how it really agrees with my troublesome combination skin without breaking out and still manages to give my skin the moisture it needs, and leaves it so silky soft, smooth and simply more glowing, so if you ask me, it is definitely worth checking out.
