And just like that, its Friday again. Can you believe how time is flying.. I am not one to wish my time away, but am looking very forward to the weekend. And well, Friday, does mean its time for the next instalment of Fragrance Friday, which today is about Hollister California Wave Eau de Parfum.
The Hollister California Wave Eau de Perfum contains;
- Top Notes: Carambola, Cassis, Quince
- Middle Notes: Orchid, Hibiscus, Poppy
- Base Notes: Solar Notes, Sandalwood, Crystal Amber
Being infused with cassis (blackberry) and the quince, means that this is a fruity and slightly sweet scent which is also floral thanks to the orchid, hibiscus and poppy. The added sandalwood makes it does take away some the sweetness so its not too overwhelming, and makes it more smooth, creamy and powdery. As for the “solar notes”, frankly I have no idea what they are, and how they’d smell!!
In spite of being an eau the parfum, the is a quite light and mild fragrance, so I wouldn’t call it a nighttime fragrance, but rather it is a great spring and summer scent that is perfect for daily casual wear, and those days when you don't want anything too overpowering, as well as it is ideal for younger women too.
It comes in a pretty round bottle with a slight wave to it (hence the name!), and it is simple, and not the pretties perfume bottle I’ve seen, but none the less it is very sleek.
As a stay at home mum I am mostly very casually dressed, also for the kindergarten runs, and I don’t feel like being too dressed up or too made up, so this fragrance is perfect for that, as I can still very a perfume, but without it being to strong.
The longevity could be a little better, especially considering it is an EDP, but still I don’t feel the need to re-apply through the day, but if you were going out at night, you’d likely be tempted to.
It is very well priced also as it comes in such a large bottle. A great perfume, definitely worth checking out if you like floral, fruity and slightly sweet scents.
