You may recall that I’ve raved about a brand called Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, but if you missed my previous post, about a couple of my all time favourites, including the incredible CC Perfecting Primer, you can read more about it here.
Today, I am excited to be talking about one of their newer releases, the Youngblood Color Crays Matte Lip Crayons. I have all days been fond of lip crayons, or any makeup crayons for that matter, as I simply find them so quick, easy and convenient to use. And for lipsticks, it means that you can use them as both lip liner and lipstick at the same time, which is so great when you are in a hurry or on the go. So needless to say that I was excited when this new collection dropped on my desk.
These Youngblood Color Crays Matte Lip Crayons are very creamy they apply with a beautiful matte finish. The have been enriched with emollients and Vitamin E to make them super creamy and so hydrating on the lip, and therefore also very comfortable to wear, which is such a lovely change as matte lipsticks often means dry lips, and that is far from the case with these. And while they
They come in a black sleek packaging, with a coloured bottom so you can clearly see the shade of the lipstick. I love that they are retractable so that you don’t need to sharpen them.
The lip crayons come in seven gorgeous shades, so there is something for every taste and occasion, but common for all is that they are all very intensely pigmented. The range include;
- Surfer Girl - a medium peachy shade, which unfortunately I don’t quite works with my current pale skin tone, but I think it would look fab on those with warm or olive skin, or when you have a great summer tan.
- Santa Cruz - a great neutral nude shade that you cannot help but love
- Angeleno - a dusty medium pink shade that is subtle yet very flattering
- Hollywood Nights - a darker brownish mauve shade that is just stunning and the sort of shade that should be in any lipstick collection.
- Valley girl - a gorgeous bright slightly blueish fuchsia shade, that’ll brighten any complexion.
- Rodeo red - this is a bright classic red shade, and it is without a doubt my favourite shade from the collection. Just beautiful and an absolute must have.
- Napa vine - a dark and deep berry purple shade. A slightly ‘vampy’ shade, so for me, not an everyday-casual shade, but great for that night out
