Beauty products using charcoal seems to be all the rave at the moment, and now Cosmedix is jumping on board with the launch of the new Detox Activated Charcoal Mask.
This Cosmedix Detox Activated Charcoal Mask promises to help detoxify the skin from daily urban pollution, and it contains charcoal and clay to help gently exfoliate the skin and draw out impurities and cleanse away pollutants or a skin that is visibly brighter and more radiant.
The mask also contains:
- Charcoal to draw out oil, dirt and debris that clogs pores
- Kaolin Clay to draw out and absorb excess oil and impurities
- Diatomaceous Earth to exfoliate the skin
And as I have always struggled with my blemish prone and congested skin, this new face mask immediately appealed to me.
The mask is to be applied to clean, damp skin, and then a generous amount massaged into the skin in circular motions before leaving it on the skin for about 10-15minutes. The mask has a light grey colour and a quite light almost gel consistency and I like that it unlike many other clay masks, doesn't stiffen up and go really hard on the skin. It did have a slight cooling sensation when first applied, but personally I really liked that.
When the time is up, the mask is easy to rinse off, and it leaves the skin feeling so super soft and with a fresh radiant glow, while being super gentle and not irritating or drying out my skin.
The mask can be used up to 3 times per week, and is best used at night so that it can cleanse the urban pollution off the skin. My skin has been breaking out a bit lately, so I've had great success using it a few times a week, and can clearly see that it is improving the look and feel of my skin, making it less greasy and congested, and thereby reducing breakouts too.
A tad on the pricey side, but it is a high quality efficient mask that lives up to its promises, so if you struggle with congested skin and breakouts, and you can afford the splurge, then I highly recommend you try it out, you won't be disappointed.
