PRODUCT REVIEW: MISSGUIDED BABE POWER EDP - #BABESOFMISSGUIDED

I'm sure that you've heard about the brand, Missguided, the young and hip, right on trend UK brand that has websites around the world - and recently they launched a new fragrance, which has now finally hit the shelve in Australia too - Missguided Babe Power EDP..

When it was first launched overseas I did actually heard the hype about it as it has apparently been outselling other top fragrances since it launched, so we may see a similar trend here in Australia.

Missguided describes the Babe Power EDP as made for the girl who wants her scent to match her unapologetic attitude, as well as evoking feelings of strength, confidence and femininity, and on the side of the box for the bottle, there are there are #babesofmissguided babe power commandments, which include;

  1. Always be hot but humble
  2. Always filter out the haters
  3. Always live life with a highlighter
  4. Always ignore the bank balance
  5. Always slay the selfie
  6. Always wear the attitude
  7. Always find the bar wherever you are
  8. Always support your local girl gang
  9. Always make every outfit count
  10. Always be a boss babe

With the listing of these, Missguided, in my opinion is really trying to target a younger demographic, along with the boss girl/babe mentality, and unfortunately it doesn't quite work for me, and I feel some of these points are outright silly and a tad dumb and demeaning, but I guess I'm feeling a tad old.

Anyway, let's get on to the actual fragrance.. It contains the following notes;

  • Top Notes: Grapefruit Zest, Sour Cherry, Crisp Apple, Pink Pepper
  • Middle Notes: Orange Blossom, Soft Peony, Jasmine
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, Musk, Candy Floss, Amber Crystals

It has a sweet fruity scent, where I find the cherry and vanilla quite dominating, though without it being overly sweet, as it has fresh undertones from the grapefruit and along with the musk that balances it out and makes it warm and powdery too. I am not usually fond of musk in fragrances, but in this case, I actually don't mind, as I think without it, the added candy floss would make it to sickly sweet.

It is an EDP with generally means that it is a tad more concentrated (than an EDP), and consequently lasts longer, and it does also stay smelling nice most of the day, though very faintly at the end of the day, so a touch-up spray mid day wouldn't hurt. It is a lovely scent for spring and summer, and the lightness means it is perfect for daytime use too.

Then there the packaging which is what really sets this fragrance apart as it comes in a stunning rose gold can, that makes it look like a can with a energy fizzy drink. Rose gold really has been so popular lately, so Misguided has really jumped on board here, plus the can is a bit of fun too. It even has a ring pull spray button with the words 'press for good vibes'

This nee Babe Power fragrance from Missguided is a lovely scent, and the gorgeous rose gold can will look cool on any bathroom shelf, plus it comes at a very affordable price too, so if you're into slightly sweet fruity scents, then I suggest you go check it out.
