What I Say:
I really like the
Physicians Formula Physicians Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder,
(if you’ve missed my review, you can see it here), so I was very excited to be
trying the Physicians Formula Cashmere Wear Ultra-Smoothing Bronzer.
I was instantly impressed with look of the Cashmere Wear Bronzer – it is hard not to
be! The actual powder and packaging is just so cute.
The actual powder
opens up like a mini storey book which is covered in brown velvet material.
On the front, there is a clear, plastic window displaying the bronzer inside
and a golden tassel. Unfortunately the clear plastic window on the front and
back are made of very thin plastic, and even just a light press and you will
rub against the bronzer, which does make me wary of putting this in my makeup
bag or throwing it into a drawer with my other makeup, in fear that it may get
damaged.
The compact opens from both sides - the front opens to
reveal the bronzer and the back opens to reveal a mirror and brush. Both sides
contain magnetic closures.
The actual bronzer has a very adorable cable-knit design, with various knit
textures, and each of the four shades featuring a different design, with the
exception of the first and last shades which are the same.
The shades combine
to create a warm medium golden bronze with a touch of peach golden shimmer. The
shades have various amounts of shimmer, and the outer shades have next to no
shimmer, while the middle, and lighter colours are the ones containing a little
more shimmer. But still, the shimmer particles are very subtle, so you will not
end up looking like a glitter ball.
The combination of colours also means that the powder
doubles as a highlighter as well as it is fantastic for contouring. The colours
blend together easily to help even out the skin tone, and the lighter more
shimmery colour adds a touch of glow and radiance to the skin.
The Cashmere Wear Bronzer
is ultra-smooth and light weight, and the pigments are so finely milled that it
blends easily, and feels comfortable to wear, as well as it looks natural on
the skin.
The bronzer only
comes in one colour, and I’d say that it is suitable for medium to dark skin
tones. The bronzer has a good staying powder, and using it on top of my normal
foundation, it also worked as a setting powder, with little touch ups required
during the day to keep my face shine free.
The Cashmere Wear Bronzer
is hypo-allergenic, dermatologist approved, oil-free non-comedogenic as
well as paraben free. The bronzer is
also fragrance free, which although my skin is not particularly sensitive, I
personally prefer.
As mentioned above, the bronzer comes with a little brush, and while
this is handy, and makes it possible to do touch-ups on the go, the
brush is a tad stiff, but at least it still feels softer than the brush
included in the Happy Booster Glow
& Mood Boosting Powder. The slightly stiff brush will quickly scrape and ruin the pretty
design of the bronzer, as well as it is so small that it allow you sweep it
over all the colours in the palette, making it more difficult to achieve an
even look – and consequently I found I had much better results using one of my own
larger and softer brushes (and not to mention keeps the design of the powder
looking pretty for longer!).
The bronzer
contains 100% pure extract, which claims to be skin softening and conditioning.
It also contains sodium hyaluronate for moisturising and smoothing benefits,
and soft-focus pearls to instantly and visible help diffuse fine lines and
wrinkles.
The Cashmere Wear Bronzer
is very comfortable to wear all day, but I have to say that I have not seen
a difference in my skin after several weeks of use. As for "helping to diffuse
fine lines and wrinkles" – my skin did have a nice and even radiant glow,
but I did not notice that my lines and wrinkles were minimised, although a good
thing is that the bronzer does not settle into the fine lines and wrinkles, so
thereby at least not making them look worse!
All in all,
I continue to be impressed with the products in the Physicians Formula makeup
range, and the Cashmere Wear Bronzer
is no exception, so I will definitely continue to use it and consider
repurchasing in the future.

It's a shame that it only comes in the one colour. Being pale means I won't be able to get this :( It looks so great!
ReplyDeleteI agree, that is a shame....hopefully they will add it later, as I do believe that there are two colours available in the US!
DeleteI really like the packaging to this with the two side, it's a shame that we can't get the brand in the UK xxx
