What They Say:
"The densely hydrating cream lifts, firms the appearance around the eyes. Builds cushion into time-thinned skin. Brightens eye area".
What I Say:
While I am concerned with wrinkles spreading across my face, at this point my eye area is a concern to me, where crow’s feet and fine lines seem to be more and more pronounced by the day, and not to mention, being pregnant means that I am not sleeping all that well at night, and consequently often waking up with puffy and tired looking eyes.
Clinique’s new Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream takes a multipronged approach to address the entire eye area resulting in a more refreshed, youthful appearance, by repairing UV damage and protecting against environmental aggressors. Formulated with a key ingredient found in the powerful Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector, this new eye cream helps visibly reverse the effects of past UV damage, as well as reduce those 'smile lines' and wrinkles around the eye area caused by not only smiling, but also other repetitive movements such as squinting.
In fact, according to Clinique tests, test persons were tested after using the eye cream for a 12 weeks, and it was found that their 'active' smile lines around the eye area had reduced by 54%, and that the skin’s barrier strength had increased by 72%.
The cream contains Vitamin C and E, antioxidants which are helping fight free radicals from environmental aggressors to prevent future damage, and visibly improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and overall texture. It also contains purified Whey Protein, a natural, high-quality polypeptide, rich in amino acids that help rebuild the skin to provide a better support structure, as well as Chlorella Vulgaris, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide and Siegesbeckia Orientalis Extract , which work together to stimulate natural collagen and elastin production to help plump the skin and strengthen its ability to bounce back.

Finally, the cream also includes Rosemary Leaf Extract to strengthen skin’s protective barrier from environment aggressors and stimulates natural collagen synthesis without irritation, Cucumber/Barley/Sunflower Extract to mimic skin’s lipid membrane to help build the skin’s barrier repair function, as well as Trehalose, a sugar derived ingredient that stabilises the structure of the skin lipid system which maximises skin’s natural ability to attract moisture from the environment.
The Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream comes in a small silver plastic jar with the standard silver lid always seen on Clinique moisturisers. The actual cream is thick and rich – so much so that I have to admit that it would be too heavy for my otherwise combination skin. But to my surprise the cream absorbs into my skin quickly, leaving it feeling soft velvety and thoroughly moisturised, yet without any greasy or oily residue.
The cream has a very subtle scent, similar to other Clinique moisturisers, and this scent quickly fades once absorbed into the skin. The eye cream is intended to be use both morning and night over the entire eye area, including eyelid. It is dermatologist tested, allergy tested and 100% fragrance free, and it is safe to use on all skin types and tones. I have very sensitive eyes, which easily water, but this eye cream did not cause any irritations whatsoever.
I have now been using the cream for approx. 6 weeks both morning and night, so it is still a little early to tell the full effects of the cream, but I can say that my fine lines, crows feet and smile lines have definitely reduced in size, and are looking more plumped and hydrated, and my whole eye area simply looks more refreshed, brighter and more youthful.
I have also found that the cream works brilliantly under makeup, and in fact I have noticed that my eye makeup seems to stay put for longer and not settle into fine lines around the eye area.
At $55 for 15ml, it is not cheap, but it is very concentrated so only a very tiny about of cream is needed, so the jar will last you for quite a while. Generally I have to say that I prefer creams in tubes or in pump bottles as it is just so much more hygienic than constantly having to dip your fingers into the jar. So the fact that the eye cream comes in a jar is a negative for me, and it would have been nice if it had at least come with a small spatula.
All in all I am thoroughly enjoying using the Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Eye Cream, and I am very impressed with the results I have seen already, so I look forward to seeing what results it will bring with continued and long-term use.
