Product Review and NOTD: Nicole By OPI Selena Gomez Collection in Scarlett

A little while ago I told you about Nicole by OPI launching Selena Gomez Collection. The collection includes 14 shades of lacquers inspired by actress & singer. The colour palette carefully selected captures her sweet yet spunky personality, from soft pink and peach hues to bright glitter and confetti lacquers. This diverse colour range offers the right hue for every occasion and every mood. But while I have to be honest and admit that I don’t really know that much about Selena, I am a big fan of the Nicole by OPI polishes, so I was excited when I was asked to trial one of the new shades. Here are my thoughts on the *Nicole By OPI Selena Gomez Collection in Scarlett;

What They Say:
"Nicole by OPI contains no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde and has a custom designed ‘Perfect Stroke’ brush for the most precise application".

RRP: $14.95 – Available from selected pharmacies, Hairhouse Warehouse, Petra Haircare and from Nicole by OPI Online.

What I Say:

It is not a secret that I love the OPI nail polishes, as you can always rely on the best quality and a fabulous colour range, and very importantly that they do not contain DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde.

Nicole By OPI Selena Gomez Collection in Scarlett is a fuchsia pink shimmer. The shimmer looks like duo chrome where the pink shifts to gold in the sunlight. It is such a gorgeous bright pink, and in spite me not being a fan of too shimmery and glittery polishes, it is still so subtle that I actually really like it, and like how it plays in the sunlight.

As all OPI nail polishes, it has a nice formula, which is so easy to apply – and thanks so the wide brush, just a few quick brushstrokes and the nail is covered. The nail polish covers nice and evenly, without any visible brush strokes. It has such a strong colour that covers so well, although I still feel the need to apply two coats for a perfect coverage.

The nail polish dries very quickly too, which I really like, and I love the fact that it unlike other nail polishes doesn’t have a strong smell either – no doubt due to being free from DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde.

Having two dogs I wash my hands quite regularly during the day, and no denying that the computer keyboard does a little damage too – however, the nail polish lasts quite well, especially with an added top coat where it lasted for about 4 days before it started to chip at the edges.

As we all know, removing nail polish with glitter can be a quite tricky task – so I was so pleasantly surprised when this nail polish removed so easily and quickly, and without leaving behind any shimmery particles.

All in all, I have just confirmed again that the Nicole by OPI nail polishes really are of such fantastic quality, and absolutely worth their price tag. And I love this bright pink colour, it is very stunning, and so different to any other nail polishes I currently have.
