PRODUCT REVIEW: LIMITED EDITION MAC COSMETICS PLENTY OF POUT PLUMPING LIPSTICKS AND LIP GLOSSES

There is no doubt about it MAC Cosmetics has some of the lipsticks, and In my opinion they are also very well priced, considering their quality. And who doesn’t love when they launch new ones. And the latest lipsticks to enter the MAC Cosmetics range, is the new limited edition Plenty of Pout Plumping Lipsticks* and Lip glosses.
  • These Plenty of Pout Plumping Lipsticks promises to create full, bee-stung lips giving the lips a sheer coat of creamy colour. They contain among others down ginger root complex to invigorating the lips, along with capsicum, avocadin to create the tingle that volumes the lips, while other oils moisturise and smooth the lips.
  • The Lipglosses have the same benefits, but just give the lips a clear balm shine, and can be used both on its own or on top of the Plenty of Pout Plumping Lipstick for a even pumped up pout!

I put a few of the new lipsticks to the test, including the shades Nicer Than Nice and Crazy Lush...

  • The lipsticks do have a slight cooling and tingling sensation on the lips immediately as you apply them, but nothing crazy (and certainly nothing that can be compared to an actual bee sting). And I did find that it wore off quite quickly, or perhaps I just got used to it.
  • I do think that the lipsticks did make my lips look slightly fuller, but again nothing crazy, just ever so slightly - so if you’re after very plumped lips, these may not be want you’re after, but if you’re like me, and happy with just the subtle look, they these are great.
  • And as always with MAC lipsticks, they do feel lovely and moisturising on the lips. The come in a sleek gunmetal packaging - and while my favourite is the monochrome, so I absolutely adore the standard black MAC packaging, I got to admit that these do look amazing. They have a lovely sweet vanilla scent. Plus, how adorable is that image with the bee!

As well as the one lip gloss shade in the shade Sheer Light Pink, there are six different lipsticks shades available in Australia. In other countries there appear to be up to ten shades, including a few extra bold shades, but sadly not in Australia, where the range include;
  • Ample Chic: creamy strawberry pink
  • Kiss & Cuddle: soft yellow nude
  • So Swell: mid-tone cool brown
  • Smooth Going: bright peachy pink
  • Nicer Than Nice: soft, warm pink
  • Crazy Lush: bright cherry red

  • I was gifted the shades Nicer Than Nice and Crazy Lush to put the test. I am not usually one to wear too pale lipsticks, so the Nicer Than Nice probably wouldn’t have been my own first choice. But that said, the pale shimmery pink does haver a lovely shade, and gives the lips such a nice lovely sheen, that I can actually imagine that I’m going to love this, especially as we head into the warmer spring months. And then there’s the Crazy Lush, which is the darkest shade in the range with its bright red shade - and if you know and follow me, you’d know that this is a shade just for me. Just gorgeous. If you love a good classic bright red shade, then this one is for you.
  • Overall these new lipsticks are gorgeous. They look amazing with their sheer pop of colour and touch of shine, they smell amazing, and they feel amazing on the lips as they are so nourishing and conditioning. If you want to get your hands on some of these Plenty Of Pout Lipsticks, make sure you hurry, as they are limited edition.
