PRODUCT REVIEW: ESPA SMOOTH AND FIRM BODY BUTTER

Nothing beats a good body pampering, thanks to RY, I’ve been so lucky as to put the ESPA Smooth and Firm Body Butter* to the test.

ESPA is a UK spa brand that works with biochemists, skin experts and aromatherapists, also taking the knowledge from traditional holistic therapies and combined this with the scientific power of the purest natural ingredients and botanicals from around the world, including unique combinations of plant actives, marine actives and essential oils to create the most effective, natural products, for beautiful skin and a renewed sense of inner calm.

• The ESPA Smooth and Firm Body Butter is a beautiful and very rich body butter that adds intense hydration and nourishment to the skin to leave it soft, smooth and radiant, while also toning up the skin 

• It contains among others Larch and Pumpkin Seed Extract to help hydrate and smooth and firm the skin, along with Rosehip, Argan Oil and Vitamin E to help nourish and even the skin tone. 

• The body cream is so thick and rich, and is easy to apply, and in spite of it being so rich, it absorbs fairly quickly into the skin without any greasiness. 

• It immediately soothes dry skin, making it the perfect cream for winter dry skin. And simply makes it feel so velvety soft and smooth and looking so healthy and glowing. I am yet to see it having any major effects on both evening out my skin and any toning up, but I also admit that I do often apply body moisturisers in a bit of a hurry so probably don’t take the required time to really massage it in to the skin as suggested.

• The body butter smells absolutely incredible, having a lovely floral fruity scent thanks to rose and patchouli essential oils, along with a lovely fresh citrusy touch from the added mandarin essential oil. And as a lover on anything citrus scented, I really love that it has the mandarin added.

• It is such a gorgeous natural and fresh and uplifting scent, which that continues to linger on the skin for long after it has been applied, which I really like, though it is still so subtle that you can still use a perfume within scents clashing. 

• The Body Butter comes in the most gorgeous heavy duty glass jar with a plastic lid that you can mistake for being made out of marble. simple, yet so luxurious and stunning that it will look amazing on any bathroom shelf. 

• I also love that it is made from natural ingredients and doesn’t contain of the chemical nasties such as synthetic colours or fragrances, mineral oils, silicone, alcohol, parabens PEGs, SLS or SLES 

• On the negative, it is a little on the pricey side, or actually one of the most expensive body creams I’ve ever used, but it is so beautiful and luxurious to use, and makes shower time even more enjoyable. I dread the day I run out as I am really enjoying it, and certainly wouldn’t mind exploring other products from the ESPA range.
