Today it is time for another toy review, and as I’ve mentioned quite a few times, as a Mum, one of my favourite brands for my little boys, is LeapFrog, simply as their toys are both fun, but also educational at the same time. The toy we are talking about today is the LeapFrog My 2-in-1 LeapTop Touch Laptop, which my 3 year old has put to the test.
The new LeapFrog My 2-in-1 LeapTop Touch Laptop is a laptop that quickly and easily converts into a touch-screen tablet to give your child the best of both worlds. When it is opened up in ‘laptop mode’ it features a keyboard, which can them be swivelled around into tablet mode.
With the clever toy, kids can among others;
- Send emails to Scout, the puppy, and get cute replies back from him
- Learn the ABC hearing letter name, sound and word using the different letters
- Learn numbers to help build counting skills
- Games, learning about 26 different animals, and brush Violets hair etc
- Music mode playing15 different songs and melodies
- Personalised play to help kids among others spell their name
I was initially concerned that the swivel screen wouldn’t last long, with two little boys, things can at times be a little rough, but I am pleased to say that so far there as not been any issues.
It is super easy to flip, and when flipped, the screen has just the right angle. I also love how it has a little build-in handle, to make it easier for little hands to carry.
The LeapFrog My 2-in-1 LeapTop Touch Laptop is intended for kids aged 2+, and my 3 year old does already know the alphabet and also counting past ten, but does at times confuse the different letters and numbers, and this toy has definitely helped him get a better understanding of them, thanks to hearing different words starting with those letters.
He has also enjoyed learning about the different animals, and sounds, however, the part that has him most excited is the email function where he can send important messages, just like mummy and daddy, and then he sits there (im)patiently waiting for a reply, which he can listen to. And then he can actually type up a reply, which he can see in the screen, which again helps him learn how to recognise worlds and how to spell. He's also really loving the touch-screen.
It is also so adorable to see your little kid imitating mummy and daddy pretending to work (and asking us to be quiet so he can concentrate, lol)
Overall, this is another great toy from LeapFrog, and again I really love that it is not just a fun toy, it is actually helping him get a better understanding of letters and numbers in the process. I also love that it has both a tablet and a laptop mode, and the fact that it has different functions depending on the mode, which makes it even more fun and versatile, keeping kids busy and entertained for longer.
Considering all the functions and the quality. Of this educational toy from LeapFrog, this is a very well priced toy too.
