I’ve tried a selection of their makeup products, Synergie Minerals, including;
- Synergie Minerals BB Flawless Cosmeceutical Foundation
- Synergie Minerals Mineralwhip 4-in-1 Cream Foundation
- Synergie Minerals Hydroblush
- Synergie Minerals Luminiser
- Synergie Minerals LipGlo
- Synergie Minerals Airbrush Foundation Brush
- Synergie Minerals Blusher Brush
Let’s start with the Synergie Minerals BB Flawless Cosmeceutical Foundation. This BB Cream is no ordinary foundation, it is makeup with skincare befits as it is loaded with skin loving ingredients that are perfect for my ageing skin. It contains among others;
- Zinc oxide/ titanium dioxide to provide natural broad spectrum sun protection SPF15
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), to increase hydration levels, minimise pigmentation and regulate oil levels in skin.
- Lycopene, an antoxidant to protect the skin from environmental ageing
- Aloe Vera, to act as an anti-inflammatory
The BB cream has a quite light texture, and a slightly odd scent, but thankfully it fades fairly quickly. It blends in so quickly and easily, and you can of course do it with your fingers but I’ve been loving using the Airbrush Foundation Brush, as it leaves the skin with an even more flawless finish, which is matte, but with an every so slight sheen. It has a light to medium coverage, though it can be built up slightly. Regardless, it is almost invisible on the skin, and easily covers redness, and most pigmentation and blemishes, though I do need to use a concealer to cover the darker circles under my eyes and some darker acne marks, but that is also what you’d expect from a BB creme.
I admit that I don’t wear makeup every day, only on the days I go out, but when I do, its usually for kindergarten drop-offs, trips to the playground etc, and then I usually reach for BB Creams, and this one is just perfect for that, as I love the fact that it was added anti-ageing benefits to care for my ageing skin as I wear it. It wears well throughout the day, without sliding off my combination skin, or settling into fine lines, hopefully it will stay like that as we head toward the warmer summer months. I do have to admit that I have not noticed any major difference in the appearance of my pigmentation or greasiness of my skin, but again, not using it on a daily basis may explain that.
One negative is that it only comes in five different shades. I’ve got a medium beige skin tone, and have used shade 4. Medium. It is a tad on the darker side, so will be saving it for when my skin skin tans a little during summer. But I am really enjoying how it makes my skin feel and look, so I wouldn’t mind getting a slightly lighter shade.
The Synergie Minerals Airbrush Foundation Brush is a seriously soft brush, made from synthetic fibres. It has very dense bristles , and the flat top makes it perfect for puffing the BB Cream (or any other foundation for that matter) into the skin for a flawless finish. It is such a great brush, and looks stylish with its matte black handle too.
Next is the Synergie Minerals Mineralwhip 4-in-1 Cream Foundation, which is a foundation: primer, concealer and UV protector all in one. The MineralWhip contains among others;
- Zinc oxide and Titanium Dioxide to offer broad spectrum sun protection and skin luminosity
- Iron oxide, adding to the UVA/B protection and help blocking visible light Squalene, rich in antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients
This compact foundation has natural UV protection with 40% mineral sunscreen and SPF 40 / PA+++, which I really like under the strong Aussie sun.
The creamy foundation is quite buildable, so you can apply a very fine layer for a sheer look, or build it up to a very full coverage, yet while not looking cakey. I quite like that it is so easy to build up, so I can add a little extra where needed to cover dark circles under the eyes, redness and pigmentation. It is easy to apply and blend using the included soft sponge.
I admit that I tend to prefer liquid foundations, but admit I am quite liking this one and how easy it is to build up my desired coverage. My only issue is just where to put the sponge after use.
There are five shades in the range, and I tried the Cappuccino, which is the middle shade, and works OK with my skin tone, though it will be better when I got a light tan, so again wouldn’t mind a slightly higher shade to use till then.
Then there’s the Synergie Minerals Hydroblush, which is pressed blush. It contains among others;
- Lycopodium Clavatum Extract and Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, to help prevent moisture loss and controls the release of hydrating liposomes onto the skin. The lipid that explodes with moisture when pressed on to the skin, releasing hydration throughout the day to ensure the looks fresh and radiant.
I haven’t really noticed any of the moisture benefits when wearing the blush, but I do love how it looks so lovely and natural on the skin, and not cakey regardless of how much you build it up. There’s a few matte shades available, but I tried the shade Glimmer, which is a gorgeous dusty pale pink shade that gives a gorgeous, yet natural flushed look with a nice sheen, that makes you look radiant and glowing. This is such a gorgeous blush, and I love the shade, so been reaching for it again and again.
I’ve been applying it with the Blusher Brush, which is also made with premium synthetic fibres, which are incredibly soft and fluffy, and are 100% vegan and cruelty free. The soft fluffy pointed brush makes it great for applying the blush with sheer finish, without risk of over-applying. Like the foundation brush, it has a stunning matte black handle.
The Synergie Minerals Luminiser is a mineral illuminating and powder designed highlight and contour the face. Like the blush it is mad with the hydrating liposomes. It is best applied to the high points of the face including cheek, brow bones and on the top of the cupids bow for an instant radiant skin. It is only available in one shade, Moonglow, which is a stunning pale golden shade that works great with my medium beige skin tone. Having combination skin that can be shiny and greasy, as well as having ageing skin, I don’t frequently use illuminisers, firstly as I find they can make my skin look shinier and greaser than it already is, and secondly, I find that they can easily settle into my fine lines, accentuating them and make my skin appear even older than it already is. Finally, I also don’t find that using an overly shimmery and glittery illumines is very suitable for ageing skin. However, thankfully, neither is not the case with the Luminiser, as it leaves a subtle, natural radiant glow, which I really like.
Finally, there’s the Synergie Minerals LipGlo, which is a range of cosmeceutical lipglosses. They contain a mix of hydrating, nourishing and anti-ageing ingredients, including regenerative and soothing blackcurrant and castor seed oil, align with argan and macadamia oil to protect the lips, spearmint essential oil to plump the lips, stevia to build collagen, plump the lips and leave them soft and luscious.
Thanks to the spearmint essential oil, it has a lovely fresh minty scent that reminds me a little of toothpaste, but which I actually really love, plus it also gives the lips a lovely cooling and slightly tingling feeling when you apply it.
It has a slightly thick consistency, but is easy to apply to the lips thanks to the pointed foot doe applicator. And once on the lips, it feels so lovely and non-sticky at all. I am not sure that I’ve noticed any difference in the plumpness of my lips, but I do love how they feel so comfortable and moisturising on the lips. And in spite of being a moisturising lipgloss, it has a decent wear of a few hours if you don’t eat or drink, but even when its worn off, the lips are left feeling so soft and smooth, clearly enjoying the nourishing ingredients.
There are 8 shades available in the range, and I tried the shade Tea Rose, which is a dark dusty pink/mauve shade, which is absolutely stunning. Dark enough to give colour, yet subtle enough for daily wear.
Overall, I have really loved putting these Synergie Minerals makeup products to the test, and actually really love all of them to the point that I’d definitely consider repurchasing again as I’ve kept reaching for them again and again the past weeks. I love the fact that they are free from all the chemical nasties and care for my skin as I use them. So I am pretty keen on trying more from their makeup range including some of the corrective concealers, powder foundation and lip products.
But what the brand is also known for is the Synergie Skin skincare range, which also sounds seriously amazing, for my blemish and pigmented ageing skin, such as their vitamin A and C products, which have been added to my wish list to try.
