PRODUCT REVIEW: MAVALA SPRING/SUMMER 2018-2019 BLOOM LIPSTICK COLLECTION

You may recall that I’ve raved about Mavala before - especially their nail polish collection - but what may don’t know, is that the brand also has a range of skincare (you can read more about that here), as well as makeup (you can read more about some of their lipsticks here and here). And speaking of lipsticks, they are nothing short of incredible, so when the newest Spring-Summer 2018/19 landed on my desk, needless to say I was excited.

The new Mavala Bloom Lipstick Collection, is inspired b spring when everything comes to life again, a return to nature, a new awakening, a new bloom. A delicate and light floral colour range.

The Mavala Bloom collection consists of six shades;

  • 643 Daisy - A pastel lilac
  • 644 Anemine - A luminous fuchsia
  • 645 Alcea - A strong pink
  • 646 Nymphea - A sugary pink
  • 647 Hellebire - An intensive beige
  • 648 Freesia - A flowery beige

All these shades are, needless to say, absolutely stunning, and as they are all pastel pink, brighter pink and pale coral shades. I don’t often wear pale lipsticks as it makes me feel a little washed out, so hence why the paler shades such as Nymphea and Hellebore, the palest shades, are also my least favourites. I tend to prefer bolder shades, so my favourites would, naturally also be the Anemone, Alcea and Freesia shades. But there is something for everyone in this collection, from more warm toned corals, to blue-tinged pale to brighter pinks.
The lipsticks feel so incredible on the lips, thanks to containing Prolip, which is a mix of among others candelilla wax to add shine, gliding and a protective film on the lips, shea butter for its repairing, softening, nourishing and soothing properties, aloe vera to protect and regenerate the lips, vitamin E to ad antioxidants and moisture, and UVB filers, and thus the lipsticks help protect the lips again external agressors including wind, sun and pollution.

The lipsticks are so buttery soft and smooth, and are so easy to apply, and a single swipe is enough for a full colour payoff as they are so pigmented. They have a gorgeous satin sheen, and are very long wearing. They are so comfortable to wear, almost like wearing a lip balm, so if you haven’t yet tried these, you really should.
