What They Say:
"Lip colour or lip care? It’s a little bit of both! Clarins’ luminous,
age-defying lipstick—created with Nutri-Youth Complex—creates fuller,
younger-looking lips. Tip: the more you wear it, the more luscious your lips
will become."
RRP: $38 –

What I Say:
The first thing
that I noticed was the gorgeous square gold casing of the Rouge Eclat Satin
Finish Age-Defying Lipstick, it just screams luxury, and one of those products
that shouldn’t be hidden away in a drawer or handbag, but should be out on
display on your desk!
The lipstick is
available in a 15 stunning shades, while I was trying colour 05, Pink Berry, which
as the name suggests is a warm pinky red colour. I am not a big fan of too pale
lipsticks, but I also don’t like too bold lipsticks, and this Pink Berry is
just right, it has a lovely sheen, yet without being too shiny or glittery.
It has a lovely
fruity scent, typical for most Clarins lipsticks (if not all?), that does linger
on the lips for quite a while, but as I really like this scent, it doesn’t bother
me, I actually rather enjoy it.
According to
Clarins, the Rouge Eclat Satin Finish Age-Defying Lipstick contains Nutri-Youth
Complex to protect the lips against dehydration and boost collagen, Vitamin E
to protect against free radicals and 100% plant waxes for instant comfort.
I found the lipstick
is extremely creamy and it slides on easily and leaves the lips with a nice
colour, perfect for both a night out, and for day wear. And it feels absolutely
divine on the lips, it really is very moisturising, it feels like you are
wearing a lipbalm!
And even after the
lipstick has worn off my lips, they feel soft and nourished. I don’t normally
have dry lip, but this winter they seem to have taken a beating from the cold
weather. But after wearing the lipstick for a couple of days, my lips no longer
feels as dry, so the lipstick is having an effect.
But as for Clarins’
claim of ‘creating fuller, younger-looking lips’, I am not so sure. But of
course, if your lips are dry and cracking, it will have an ageing effect, where
as if lips are thoroughly moisturised and continuously nourished during the day
from the lipstick, they will naturally appear younger-looking!
The Rouge Eclat has
a good wear of four hours or so, although, as with most lipsticks, it does
transfer onto glasses and mugs as I drink, although my lips are still left with
a nice stain. It also doesn’t survive though a lunch, but again, that is pretty
standard for most lipsticks. Again, as with most lipsticks, it can bleed a
little, but that’s nothing wearing a lip liner won’t fix!
Overall, I am
really loving everything about this lipstick, from the packaging, the scent,
the colour of the lipstick, to how it feels and looks on my lips, so this has
quickly become my new favourite lipstick. I’ll be sure to check out the other
colours in the range!
