Product Review: Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Eye Recovery Complex

Unfortunately I am at the age where lines and wrinkles are creeping in, and have realised that using a good eye cream is an absolute necessity. I was consequently very excited when I was asked to trial *Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Eye Recovery Complex. Here are my thoughts;

What They Say:

"Suitable for all skin types. Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Eye Recovery Complex aids in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles around the delicate eye area. Active ingredients include SNAP-8 technology, acetyl hexapeptide-3, aloe vera gel to soothe and calm the skin, co-enzyme Q10 for skin firmness and sodium hyaluronate to assist in hydration. Use twice daily".

RRP: $69.95 (15g) – Available from Priceline, Myer, David Jones and select Pharmacies

What I Say:
I recently trialled the Dr Lewinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Hydrating Day Cream, and absolutely loved the luxurious cream as it proved so efficient in a very short time, so needless to say that I also had very high hopes and expectations for the eye cream.

The Line Smoothing Complex S8 Eye Recovery Complex claims to;
  • Reduce the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles around the eyes.
  • Be brightening and lightening and simulate the development of collagen synthesis.
  • Alternative to painful Botox® injections.
  • Provide intense and continuous hydration.
  • Be nourishing and repairing.
The Eye Recovery Complex is infused with Snap-8, which is an alternative to "painful injections" and is potently reducing lines and wrinkles. It is also containing caviar extract, which is very nourishing and help minimise the visual signs of ageing, and provide continuous hydration throughout the day.

The cream has a subtle and gentle scent. You can smell the caviar but it's not unpleasant, and it quickly fades once absorbed into the skin.

As soon as I put tried the Eye Recovery Complex, I noticed how amazing and refreshing it felt on the skin. Light and silky, yet so hydrating without being too greasy. It just glides onto the skin and absorbs instantly and leaves my skin feeling soft and without any greasy or oily feeling at all.

The eye cream comes in a plastic pump with gold lid and base, which makes it look very luxurious. And just one tiny pump is more than sufficient for both eyes, as the gel-like cream is so concentrated and spreads so easily. And it works perfectly under makeup as well, preventing the makeup from settling into the fine lines and wrinkles.

As I think I’ve mentioned numerous times before, I really like creams that come in pump bottles as it is just so much more hygienic than constantly sticking your fingers into a jar. In saying that, products in pump bottles can at times be difficult to completely empty, but only time will tell how this cream will fare.

So did the cream live up to its big claims? After having used the eye cream for a few weeks, both morning and night, I have to say that the area around my eyes is very hydrated and looks plumbed up and fine lines and wrinkles do appear to be slightly less noticeable. The puffiness around my eyes also seem to have reduced a little, although it is still there – which I however also expected as being 30 weeks pregnant I seem to have more and more sleepless nights! And I have quite sensitive eyes that easily get irritated and water, but the eye cream at all times felt comfortable to use, and never irritated my sensitive eyes.

Dr LeWinn's claims that the eye cream is an alternative to Botox, and while I have never had Botox so am hence unable to compare the results – I do have thought that Botox would give you far more dramatic results than this eye cream has yet delivered.

But in saying that, I have no intentions of having Botox at this stage, and I do not believe that you can completely reverse the signs of ageing, and this eye cream has in just a few short weeks managed to at least show some results  - so with continued and long-term use, I would expect to see further results.

As with the day cream, my only criticism of the eye cream is that it does not contain any SPF, which is so necessary under the harsh Australian Sun!

At $69.95 the eye cream is a little pricey for just 15g, however, I have thoroughly enjoyed using it as it is such a luxurious cream, which feels fantastic on the skin. So if you can afford the splurge,  I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too!

  1. I REALLLLLLLLLLY want to try this!! I have a small sample of one of their eye creams (I can't remember the name, but it's in a white tub) and it's a great firming eye cream. I've just really started getting into anti aging and the Line Smoothing Complex range looks so good.

    Dr LeWinn make up and skincare is on my wishlist. I've seen and heard great things about the brand.

  2. I was sent the Dr LeWinn Lift&Resculpt Serum and I don't really see any results so far =(. My favorite eye cream is Benefit's It's Potent! The results last for months after you stop using the product.
