Lately I’ve been talking a lot about Frank Body, the incredible Aussie brand that has become known world-wide for its amazing cruelty free natural products, and not to mention cheeky marketing.
Frank Body, is known for, well body products, which the body scrub what catapulted them onto the huge success company they are today, and since then, they have also introduced skincare (you can read about some of those here) - and well, now the great news is that Frank Body is also launching Hair Care products with the launch of the Hair Duo, which includes;
Frank Body Stimulating Scalp Scrub*
Frank Body Go Longer Hair Mask*
The Frank Body Stimulating Scalp Scrub, has the consistency like a face scrub, only it is designed to remove any build-up and dead skin cells from the scalp.
I have never actually used a scalp scrub before, so it was very new to me. But to use, you simply wet your hair, and then massage into the scalp, making sure to cover the whole scalp. You then add a little more water, lather it up, and rinse it out. Having long thick hair, I did find it a little tricky to wash it, feeling a little like after a day at the beach with sand all over - but it is definitely doable, it just takes a little time, so best not to do when you are in a rush.
The Scalp Scrub contains among others walnut shell powder, pumice and coffee seed extract to exfoliate, along with eucalyptus, peppermint and rosemary to help stimulate blood circulation and stimulate hair growth in the hair follicles.
The next step is wash your hair with your usual shampoo, and then follow by applying the Frank Body Go Longer Hair Mask into towel dried hair, from roots to tips, and leaving it in for approx 10 minutes before rinsing it out, and then coming and styling as usual.
The Hair Mask is thick and rich, and absorbs quickly into my hair. I don’t tend to apply conditioner or hair masks into my roots, but usually concentrate on the tips only, for the pure reason that my hair is quite thick and heavy, and I really don’t need it weighted down further. But I didn’t need to worry as it doesn’t weigh the hair down as well as it doesn't leave the roots feeling or looking greasy. Rather it leaves your hair feeling very nourished, soft and smooth after each use, and also easy to comb out without major knots.
The Hair Mask contains among others hydrolysed keratin to increase moisture retention to reduce breakage while also strengthening the hair, hydrolysed wheat protein to repair damaged hair . And in addition, it also contains the menthol and coffee seed oil and caffeine to stimulate blood circulation to promote hair growth.
Both are best used twice a week, and as I've only been using them for a few weeks, so its really early days to say if they have really promoted any further hair growth - plus I already have quite long hair, which can make it even trickier to really see. But, what I can say, is that I have still really been enjoying these products. My first venture into a scalp scrub has been great, - while I don’t tend to use a lot or hair styling products close to my scalp (I tend to use oils in the lengths), so I haven’t got a lot of product build up as such, apart from that of my trusted dry shampoo - but still I have really loved the feeling of my scalp being so super clean, clearly free from dead skin cells. I guess you can liken the feeling to when you give your face or body a good scrub. The skin simply feels softer, as does the scalp. I don’t usually tend to get a dry scalp
The Hair Mask is also great, and I love how it is so nourishing, yet without actually weighing my long hair down or making it feel greasy.
I will definitely continue with these products and see what is going to happen to my hair, but overall, I love how these products leave my hair feeling soft and smooth and looking healthy and shiny, and by nothing but natural ingredients. What’s not to love!! - Oh, yeah… the pretty pink white packaging, isn’t it just gorgeous!!
Now I can only wish that Frank Body will also bring out a shampoo to complete the range!
