One of these brands I really like is Dermalogica, as they have so many incredible products which I reach for on a regular basis, including the Pre Cleanse, and the Microfoliant. And now, Dermalogica launched the Ultra Calming Calm Water Gel, and thanks to RY, I've been luck to put it to the test.
This Dermalogica Calm Water Gel has a super light watery-gel consistency, which as someone with combination skin, I really like, and in addition, it instantly feels so refreshing once applied to the skin. It takes a few moments to absorb into the skin, but once it has you can clearly both feel and see how it has a calming effect on the skin, while its deeply quenching the skin with long-lasting moisture, making it look soft and smooth, and simply feel and look amazing and glowing.
The moisturiser is designed to hydrate dry, sensitive skin, and I love that the lightness of this gel makes it perfectly suitable for those with tendencies for breakouts too.
It contains dual Hyaluronic Acid technology, which works in different skin surface layers to increase and lock in moisture, along with Apple Fruit Extract and Glycerin to hydrate and soften the skin, while also defending skin against dryness. The added Cactus Pear Extract helps soothe sensitivity and imparts water-binding properties to help support healthy moisture balance. The gel can be used twice a day, and it layers perfectly under makeup too.
I also love that it is paragon and gluten free and contains no artificial colours or fragrances, which is also why it is perfect for those with sensitive skin. Rather is is made from plant-based ingredients, so it is also vegan and cruelty free. Just note that it doesn’t contain any SPF, but personally I don’t mind using a SPF on top on the days I need it.
Overall, this is a really lovely moisturising gel, it is so gentle and perfect for those who have a sensitive and dry skin. With my combination skin I love how light and weightless it feels on my skin. My skin is always a little on the greaser side during summer, so I’ve mainly been using it during the night. However, come the colder months, and my skin starts to get drier from the constant change between indoor heaters and the outside chill, this gel will be perfect for my skin too, both day and night.
