One thing that is always a hit with my husband is new fragrances and aftershaves, as he wears one every day - and just in time for Father's Day, Police has released their newest scent, Police Icon Gold Eau de Parfum.
This new fragrance is intended for the modern man, and embodies an essence of luxury, asking users to 'embrace the spirit of luxury with bold pride and a great smell to show for it'. This is reinforced by the golden bottle, designed like an elegant eagle, which has been sculptured by no other than Picasso.
The scent contain the following notes;
- Top Notes: Bergamot and citron
- Middle Notes: Nutmeg, Pink Pepper, Clove, Cardamom, Lavender and Rosemary
- Base Notes: Sandal Notes, Patchouli and Musk
It is this a citrusy fragrance infused with spices, making it an energetic, yet masculine and musky scent.
As a lover of citrus scented products, I do like this fragrance and would without a doubt have purchased it for the actual scent. The golden eagle most definitely stands out in a period where less is more, and simplistic design is in - and I do admit to preferring that over the opulent golden eagle design, - but had it had a simple design, it may have easily 'gotten' lost on the shelves amongst other new fragrance releases.
In my husband's words; "it is a nice refreshing scent, it is unlike another fragrances that I've got in my collection of 40+ scents. It is not overpowering, yet I really like that it hangs in there all day, without the need for reapplying. Men are not always the best at giving other men compliments, but I have actually been told that I smell 'alright', and that was at the end of a working day after putting it on early in the morning!
At just $39.99 for a massive 125ml this is a great bargain buy!
