pigmented lips are the look of international runways and the Australis

city-inspired lip crème takes it to the next level. Boasting a velvety, matte
finish, the creamy long-wear formula glides on with ease; finishing to create

What I Say:
The new Australis Velour Matte Lip Creams are available in 5
shades; TOK-I-O (purple), RIO-D (coral),
PA-REE (nude), NY-CEE (red) and MAL-I-BOO (pink), and I tested the nude PA-REE.
The PA-REE is a lovely nude, and while I am a tad
conservative and don’t wear too bright lip colours too often, I unfortunately
find that this is a touch too nude, and the shade doesn’t match my skin.
As claimed
the Velourlips is a lipgloss that offers a full coverage with a matte
velvety look, almost as if it was a lipstick. The matte look is a nice change
to the always glossy or shimmery lipglosses that we’ve all gotten so used to.
The lipgloss has a very sweet scent, almost like lollies,
and it is easy to apply, and it has a
very good pigmentation, and is almost like a lipstick in formula. As the
lipstick is matte, it unfortunately also means that it is also feeling a little
drying on the lips, as well as is a little sticky. You could add a little
lipbalm or clear lipgloss on top to eliminate the dry feeling, but it would
also mean that the velour look and feel would be somewhat minimised.
It is very
longwearing, especially considering it is a lipgloss, and unlike other
lipglosses it doesn’t transfer onto glasses and mugs as much. I got about 3
hours wear from the lipgloss before I felt I needed to apply, which personally
I find very good for a lipgloss.
What I Like:
- Great price
- A nice sweet scent
- Easy to apply and has a good pigmentation
- It is longwearing and has very little transfer
What I Don’t
Like:
- It is a little sticky
- It feels a little drying on the lips
Overall,
these are a lovely lipglosses and it is such a refreshing change that they are
not glossy like most others on the market. And at just $9.95 each, they are a
bargain buy too!

What do you think of these new Velourlips from Australis? Do
you like matte lips? Do you prefer lipglosses or lipsticks?
Great review! I love matte lips. I have a matte lip cream from NYX and I love it! I have never seen this brand here, but theNYX version is great too.

I've heard a lot of good things about NYX but yet to try their products - but they've just become available here at Target, so I really must go check them out...
DeleteThe colour looks gorgeous, but it's such a shame it's drying. I have quite dry lips already, so I'm not quite sure how much use I will get out of these. :(
ReplyDeleteI don't have particularly dry lips, but unfortunately it still felt a little drying..
DeleteOh what a shame it doesn't match your skin tone too well, I can see what you mean by the picture though! I'm sure the other colours would be better though! I've fallen in love with these, and although they are a tad drying (my lips didn't feel dry after wearing them though which was a huge plus for me) they have such a gorgeous finish! I didn't find them sticky though! Great review lovely xx
ReplyDeleteThanks heaps Jasmine - and glad you agree that the colour is not right on my lips, I thought I was being a bit too picky!! I will check out the other colours though, maybe they are a better match.
