Product Review: bhave Riot Control Serum

My long hair, which has been through countless of hair colourings, heat styling sessions and not to mention quite a few summers of harmful UV rays, so needless to say that my hair at times is looking a little worse for wear. Consequently I have taken a liking to the new hair oils as they make my hair look and feel softer and healthier, and not to mention, they reduce the dreaded frizz too. Obviously I therefore happily accepted when I was asked to trial the *bhave Riot Control Serum. Here are my thoughts;

What They Say;

"bhave Riot Control Serum is enriched with certified organic argan oil and antioxidants, which fights frizz effortlessly, restoring shine and increasing manageability to all hair types, particularly chemically treated and damaged hair, which is particularly prone to frizz".

RRP: $48.95 (100ml) – Available at select hair salons.

What I Say:
I have recently reviewed several other products from behave, including the Hydrator Shampoo and Conditioner, Magnify Shampoo and Conditioner, Bombshell Blonde Shampoo, Leave-In Crème, Deep Intense Conditioning Masque, and Fresh Ends, and I can honestly say that these are some of the best products that I have ever used in my hair. Even my hairdresser has commented saying that my hair has never looked better, and that was after skipping visit, and going over four months between haircuts!! So being so impressed with the rest of the bhave product range, needless to say that I that very high hopes for the Riot Control Serum as well.

Riot Control is enriched with certified organic argan oil, which is high in vitamin E, essential fatty acids and anti-oxidants, it is highly moisturising and nourishing on the hair. It also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant-rich oil strengthens and nourishes hair while adding shine to the hair.

Riot Control is to fight frizz effortlessly, restoring shine and increasing manageability to all hair types, particularly chemically treated and damaged hair which is more vulnerable to frizz. The serum nourishes, smoothes and adds shine. The serum can be applied to both damp and dry hair before blow drying and styling.

Like the rest of the bhave product range, Riot Control is Australian owned and made and has been developed with industry experts and biochemists. It is free from parabens, sulphates and sodium chloride (better known as salt and as a saboteur to colour and to keratin-treated hair), as well as it has not being tested on animals. How fantastic does that sound!

The bhave Riot Control comes in a very stylish matte brushed silver bottle, which looks so luxurious, and reminds more of an expensive facial cream than a hair product.

The bottle comes with a pump at the top, which dispenses the hair serum. It is so easy to use, and so easy to get just the amount needed without wasting any product. You could imagine that it would be impossible to completely empty the bottle, but time will tell when I get that far!

The Riot Control serum is clear and it has a very subtle but lovely scent, which more or less disappears once absorbed into the hair.

The instructions on the bottle says that the Riot Control Ends can be used in both dry hair and damp hair, but regardless of the use, I recommend to use sparingly as it is very concentrated so only a tiny amount is needed, so it will last a very long time. If too much serum is used, the hair ends up feeling a little greasy.

The Riot Control is a highly concentrated formula provides an intense conditioning treatment, smoothing to reduce frizz and thermal protection without the problem of build-up or oily residue. It is a a runny oil serum, which can leave you thinking that it will leave the hair feeling and looking very greasy or weighing it down, but that is far from the case (unless you use too much). It instantly absorbs into the ends of the hair, and once dry, my hair is left looking and feeling soft, shiny and healthy, and any signs of frizz is gone.

I have generally been using the Riot Control after washing my hair, where I use two pumps of the oil in the damp hair before combing and styling it. It not only makes my long hair and thick hair so much easier to comb, but it also leaves it soft, shiny and very moisturised.

I also use the oil dry hair as both as a protector prior to heat styling my hair, but also as a shine serum on the days that I do not wash my hair, and a single pump of the Riot Control is making my hair look fantastic, shiny and frizz free.

I have also found that using the Riot Control when I have my hair in a ponytail – which believe me, I have a lot during the hot Australian summer – as it makes it so much easier to achieve a perfectly polished ponytail.  Riot Control simply helps make my hair more manageable, and by smoothing down any frizz, controlling fly-aways and as an added bonus it leaves the hair with such a  beautiful shine.

All in all, I am very impressed with the results, and having now tried several different argan hair oils ranging in price from $9.95 to over $60, and no doubt about it, the Riot Control is on the top of the list. It is a truly amazing treatment for all hair types, but especially those with stressed, dry and split ends and those with a lot of frizz. Riot Control has made an amazing difference to not only the condition of my hair, but also how healthy and shiny it looks, so I will definitely look into purchasing again and highly recommend that you try too, you’ll love it!

  3. Following from the blog hop. Can't say I have even heard of bHave hair products, but I think I will do some research on them. My youngest baby has thick, curly, frizzy hair. Now that she's 12 she worries about her hair a lot. I need to find something to help her. Thanks for the tip. cheermamadrama.blogspot.com
