PRODUCT REVIEW: BHAVE - FOR THE HEALTHIEST HAIR EVER

With any beauty products, it is very rare for me to say that certain products are my ultimate favourites, simply as there are so many great products out there - but one brand has managed to woo me again and again, and I can thereby safely say that it is my favourite, most trusted holy grail brand - the brand is bhave, so let's talk a little about their incredible products.. 

I have talked about bhave countless of times, yes, as a beauty blogger I am very fortunate to get to try a lot of different products, but once a trial period is completed, more often than not, do I return to my beloved bhave products. If you missed them, you easily find all my previous features and reviews of all their products via my product directory.

In case you’ve never heard bhave brand before, I can tell you that it is an Australian brand and all their products are free from parabens, sulphates and sodium chloride.

Let's start with the bhave Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner (you can see my full review here), which claims to be able to nurse traumatised hair back to good health with regular due to the products containing the functional keratin technology that has the unique ability to penetrate the hair shaft and repair damage, rebuilding each hair strand from the inside out. And as well as repairing and restoring existing damage, bhave also claims that regular use will form a protective shield around the hair strands providing it with around the clock defence against damage.

I have quite long and thick coloured hair, and when I use this combo, I can immediately tell the difference in both the feel and look of my hair. My hair simply looks and feels so much softer and shinier, and my otherwise dry and slightly damaged ends, seems to be less damaged, and consequently flyaways and frizz also seems to be tamed, so my hair overall looks healthier. These products are at the higher price end for shampoos and conditioners, but truly believe that they help keep my hair in better health, so I essentially can stretch my hair appointments as my hair is so well cared for.

Then there's the bhave Leave-In Creme (you can see my full review here), which a treatment to be used in damp hair after washing it. It contains among others macadamia nut, jojoba and argan oil to help soften, nourish and moisturise the hair, along with functional bioactive keratin and peptides to restore the hair's elasticity and protect the hair from breaking, while also helping to tame the hair and control frizzy and fly-away hair and give it thermal protection during heat styling. The Leave-In treatment is quite thick, and you only need a little, and you do have to be cautious not to use too much, so take it slow. But it leaves the hair seriously softer, smoother and stronger, and thereby healthier too. And in spite of the richness of this leave-in, it doesn't weigh down the hair (unless you use too much), but rather, actually gives my limp hair more volume. It has a lovely subtle coconut scent.

Next up is the bhave Riot Control Oil (see my full review here), which contains Certified organic Argan Oil that is jam-packed with antioxidants that help strengthen and nourish the hair. The light and non-greasy oil helps keep the hair soft, and it also helps smooth down frizz and flyaways, all while adding a beautiful healthy shine to the hair. It can be used in both wet hair before heat styling, as well as after for a glossy finish. I personally like to use it in my dry hair, after heat styling, and on the days where I am not washing my hair, to give my hair a moisture boost, and to help smooth down any frizz and give it some shine. Again, you'll need the smallest amount as it is so concentrated, and using too much will leave your hair looking greasy. It comes in a cool silver pump bottle that not only looks very luxe, but also is very easy to use.

Then there's the bhave Fresh Ends (see my full review here) is a leave-in cream that has been specifically designed for distressed and damaged ends. It is best used in dry hair, although if needed, it can also be used on towel-dried hair. Personally I like to use the Leave-In creme as above in my towel-dried hair, and once my hair is styled and dry, use this in the ends, as well as on the days where a not washing my hair. The formula contains raw natural keratin and slow releasing peptides as well as certified organic argan oil to that helps to continuously repair hair damage and strengthen the elasticity of the hair, and it leaves the hair silky soft and smooth. It also helps to control flyaway hairs, while treating split ends, all while making the hair look so healthy. The Fresh Ends comes in a nifty and easy to use push-top jar, that dispenses the treatment from the top, which I find super cool.

The bhave Super Nova Leave In Elixir (see my full review here), is one of the latest additions to the bhave range, and as the name suggests, it is a true 'super' hero as it is such a multi-tasking product. It helps treat a multitude of hair issues from detangling and adding moisture to the hair, fights frizz and smooths the hair, repairs and strengths brittle, damaged locks and split ends, thicken thinning hair and promote new growth, balance the scalp, protect the hair colour from fading due to UV rays, - and of course, leaves the hair looking soft, healthy and shiny. 

The light treatment spray is to be used in towel dried hair, and gets all its super powers from among others sunflower seed oil, aloe vera and other fruit and flower extracts. It comes in a super stylish shiny silver bottle, and it smells amazing too. This is seriously super amazing!!

Finally, there's the newest product launch, the bhave Curl Defining Creme. My hair has always been super straight, to the point that I only ever straightened it to smooth down frizz, but since my last pregnancy, my hair has decided that it wants to go curly in the back, which looks rather odd seeing the front parts of my hair is still straight. While I have always liked my straight hair, I also remember wanting some more volume, and now that I have more, I am not enjoying it as especially on the days where I do not wash my hair, it is clearly looking drier and frizzier than ever before. Enter the bhave Curl Defining Creme. This treatment is best used in damp hair and it contains among others sunflower seed oil, murumuru seed butter and carnuba wax, to add extra moisture and seals it into the hair to define curls and help restore elasticity and smoothness, and reduce frizz while also developing new hair grown and prevent the hair from becoming dry and brittle. This treatment has made such a difference to my hair, making my hair so much more manageable especially on the days where I wash it, as it leaves my hair is even curlier as I can now 'tease' it up so much more. And on even on the days where I don't wash it, it is clearly 'retaining' the moisture, and using just a few pumps of Riot Control is now sufficient to banishing the frizz again and make it look shiny and healthy again.


So there you have it, some of my ultimate haircare products from bhave - these products are seriously amazing, and will without a doubt do wonders for your hair too, so do yourself the favour and try them out, you won't regret it. You can thank me later!!

PRODUCT REVIEW: BHAVE RESCUE INTENSE REPAIR SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

I have very long and thick hair, and that over the years has been through its share of chemical treatments, so needless to say that it due to its length, does have some dry and split ends. I am therefore always looking for new products to help maintain my hair, so when I was offered to trial the *bhave Rescue Intense Repair Shampoo and Conditioner, I happily accepted. Here are my thoughts;

What They Say:

Protects and nourishes by replacing key proteins found naturally in the hair. Provides a 'protein shield' to protect hair from environmental damage. Suitable for all hair types."
 

What I Say: 
I have previously tried a few different products from bhave, and I have to say that I am so in love with those products, including the Hydrator Shampoo and Conditioner, the Leave-in Crème, the Deep Intense Conditioning Masque, The Fresh Ends and not forgetting the amazing Riot Control Oil – all these products are simply so amazing, and without a doubt some of the best hair products that I’ve ever tried, as they really do make such a difference to the health of your hair.  In case you’ve never heard of the bhave brand before, I can tell you that all their products are free from parabens, sulphates and sodium chloride. It is an Australian owned, and all products are made in Australia, as well bhave is also the first Australian hair care brand to offer the keratin based hair restoration technology and include it in the hair care collection. Impressive stuff, isn’t it!!

If your hair is so damaged that you thought the only option was to cut it off, bhave claims to be able nurse traumatised hair back to good health with regular use of the Rescue Intense Repair Shampoo and Conditioner, due to the products containing a new functional keratin technology that has the unique ability to penetrate the hair shaft and repair damage, rebuilding each hair strand from the inside out. And as well as repairing and restoring existing damage, bhave also claims that regular use will form a protective shield around the hair strands providing it with around the clock defence against damage.

As mentioned, my long hair is generally it is quite healthy, but due to its length, needless to say that it has been through countless summers, hair colourings and heat sessions, so it is a little dry at the ends with some split ends. 

I usually wash my hair every second day, and rarely do I feel that I need to wash it more than once, however on the back of the bhave Rescue Shampoo it is recommended to wash the hair twice, and the second time leaving the shampoo in the hair for a 1-2 minutes for maximum benefit and repair before rinsing – so naturally I have been following these instructions, even though I really haven’t felt that my hair needed the second wash.

Sulphates free shampoos can often be difficult to get to lather properly, (and consequently I often feel that I use more shampoo than necessary in an attempt to compensate and get it to lather) but that is not the case with the Rescue shampoo. It easily lathered up into soft foam, - and with the second wash, even more so!! And after rinsing my hair feels so clean and soft, and without feeling squeaky or stripped for moisture.

Afterwards I have been using the bhave Rescue Conditioner, which in addition to the Replicine™ Functional Keratin also contains argan oil which is high in vitamin E to strengthen and nourish the hair. And my hair instantly drinks up the conditioner. After the 2-3 minutes it is recommended to leave it in, it is so easy to rinse out – in fact it actually doesn’t feel like there is a lot of conditioner to rinse out (my hair has clearly absorbed the majority of the conditioner!), and without leaving behind a greasy residue which many intensive conditioners often do. 

Combing my hair afterwards has never been easier, my comb simply glides through my hair, almost as if I had already combed it in the shower. And once dry, it is so incredibly soft and smooth that I just can’t stop touching it and running my hands through it.

After having used the rescue shampoo and conditioner for few weeks, I can both see and feel an amazing difference in the condition of my hair. Moisture levels really seem to have been restored, even in my otherwise dry ends, which now feel like they’ve recently had a trim. Flyaways seems to have been reduced dramatically too, and it is so healthy looking and shiny that I no longer feel the need to use any shine serums to tame the flyaways or add shine. It is as if I’ve just had a series of professional treatments done at the salon!

Like the other shampoos and conditioners from bhave, the Rescue products come in simple and sleek white round cylinder bottles with a flip lid at the top. They are easy to use in the shower with wet hands, and as the lid is flat, when you near the end of the product, you can also stand the bottle upside down without the bottles tipping over on the shower shelf, to make sure you use up every last bit of product. And I like that they are ‘colour coded’ so that the shampoo has a red label at the top of the bottle, while the conditioner has a grey label. That makes it so much easier to distinguish between the two in the shower for someone like me who is half-blind when not wearing glasses!


Both the shampoo and the conditioner have a lovely floral scent, which is very pleasant and far from artificial or overpowering. And once my hair is washed and dry, this lovely floral scent still lingers in my hair, which I really love.

At $44.95 each for a 300ml bottle, the shampoo and conditioner are the most expensive shampoos and conditioners that I have ever used. But in saying that, the results really are amazing. Not only has it really restored my dry hair back to good health, I also believe that because of these products, I will be able to stretch my visits to the hairdresser, and consequently saving both time and money. If you have dry and damaged hair, or you are maybe trying to grow your hair a little longer, then I highly recommend that you try the Rescue products, you won’t be disappointed.

PRODUCT REVIEW: BHAVE SUPER NOVA LEAVE IN ELIXIR

I'm really excited about today's feature - simply because it is about bhave - my favourite hair care brand's newest launch, the Super Nova Leave In Elixir.

If you're not familiar with bhave, do yourself a favour and get acquainted, you and your hair won't be disappointed.

bhave is an Australian salon hair care brand free from harmful chemical including parabens, sulphates, sodium chloride, and of course they have not been tested on animals either.

As a beauty blogger I naturally get to try my fair share of products and brands, and yes, there are some great ones out here, but my hair is always at its healthiest, shiniest and best b-havior, when I use my trusted bhave products. In case you've missed all my reviews of all the bhave products, you can easily find them in my product directory.

Now onto the bhave Super Nova Leave In Elixir treatment which contains among a long list of natural fruit and vegetable extracts including others;

• Apple extract, fennel and vegetable protein to help slow down the process of split ends
• Aloe Vera and citrus fruit extract to help fight frizz, soothe and smooth down the hair
• Sunflower seed oil to help nourish and restore damaged hair
• Grape seed extract to help protect the hair from UV damage
• Rosemary leaf extract to help strengthen brittle hair
• Apple and rosemary extract to help promote hair growth
• Orange fruit extract and fennel to help thicken and strengthen the hair

The Super Nova Leave In Elixir has the most beautiful orange-citrusy scent, and it is to be used in just washed, towel dried hair, by spritzing a tiny amount from roots to the tip of the ends, and as it is so concentrated, it only takes a little. Hereafter you can style your hair as usual.

Most days I leave my hair to dry naturally, and after using the Super Nova I can really tell that my hair is not only so much easier to manage as flyaways are controlled, split ends are treated, and my hair is simply given a boost of hydration, which makes it look and feel so much smoother and softer, and looking so much healthier too with a nice glossy shine.

I am yet to see if is actually making my hair stronger, or grow faster - but regardless, I love the immediate effect that it has on my hair, making it look so healthy and shiny, and all without making it feel greasy or weighing it down.

It comes in a super stylish silver pump bottle (although the shiny finish does make it difficult for an amateur photographer!), and  I'm so in love with this elixir, absolutely incredible - but then again, I wouldn't have expected anything less from bhave, so do yourself a favour and give this one a try!

PRODUCT REVIEW: BHAVE HAIR STYLING

If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'd know that one of my absolute favourite hair care brands is bhave. As a beauty blogger I naturally trial a myriad of different products, including many great ones, but every time I am finished using a particular product and return to my trusted bhave products, I notice a significant improvement in the health of my hair (check out all my reviews from the Product Directory tab on the blog). So I was naturally very excited when a parcel of newly launched styling products landed on my desk last year.. Yeah, last year. They arrived whilst I was at the Royal Children's Hospital with our baby, and consequently I simply didn't have the concentration or time to write about them until now.. So here goes..  

The new bhave hair styling range includes;

The bhave Gun Powder Matt Styling Dust is suitable for all hair types and lengths, and any hair style that requires extra volume and texture.

The Styling Dust is applied to the roots of the hair and immediately gives the hair more fullness and texture. It is perfect for when you want to create a full-volume up-do, or simply a messy no-fuss hair style. And what's brilliant is that it also acts as a kind of dry shampoo absorbing excess oil from the hair at the same time.

The brilliantly designed 'gun' dispenser makes it easy to dispense just the amount of powder needed.

With my long hair, it is often weighed down by the sheer heaviness of the hair, but using this does give it some much needed volume, while also making my hair easier to style as the hair gets a bit of a 'grip' so even something as simple as an elastic doesn't slide out of the hair.

The bhave Sleep Pomade is a styling pomade is a combination of a gel and a wax, giving the hair the hold of a gel, but with the sleekness and flexibility of a wax. It also helps add definition to the hair while controlling frizz. And as a bonus it has been enriched with Red Clover which is known to help fight hair loss!

I don't really use gels or waxes in my hair, but my husband is thoroughly enjoying using this in his short hair, making his hair stay put all day, without making his forehead greasy as he complains about when using most other hair styling products.

Finally, the bhave Flex Styling Paste is a paste that allows you to change your mind with your hairstyle throughout the day, as it is so flexible that you can simply re-work it as desired. The paste gives the hair texture and definition and hold at the same time.

I don't like applying hair styling products to my hair that makes it stiff, as it simply doesn't work with long hair, so I enjoy this flexible paste as it does give me the amount of hold needed for me to style my hair without if 'flopping down', yet while still looking very natural and also very healthy to thanks to the added shine.

I also like using the tiniest amount of this in our little toddlers hair - he is very blonde and has very fine hair, and whenever I style his hair, he has to 're-do' it himself, so this paste also works brilliantly for him, as it allows me to 'fix up' his hairstyle throughout the day when we're out and about.

The Sleek Pomade and the Flex Styling Paste both comes in the cutest little square cube, which stands out from any other hair styling packaging I've seen, it is so simple, yet so stylish at the same time.

For me, the winners of these new styling products are without a doubt the Gun Powder Matt Styling Dust and the Flex Styling Paste, but that said, it only comes down to my hair style, as the Sleek Pomade is also a great product if you require more hold. So overall some great additions to the bhave product range, now all I am wishing for is an actual dry shampoo and possibly a hair spray too...

PRODUCT REVIEW: BHAVE TRAVEL IN STYLE + GIVEAWAY

HOSPITAL BAG - SKINCARE & HAIRCARE

So now, as I write this, baby is due in just 8 days. Yesterday I posted about the makeup I’ll be bring to hospital, and today it is all about the skincare and haircare products that I’ll be bringing with me to the hospital. I actually started packing the a few weeks ago, slowly pulling things out as I remembered, but now time has come to get serious, to make sure everything is ready to go!

Apart from the clothing necessities such as comfy clothes, PJs, dressing gown, slippers, underwear and maternity bras, breast pads, maternity pads... these are the haircare and skincare essentials that will be going with me..

EVO Beauty Is Skin Deep Women’s Essential Kit

I’ve always loved the brand EVO for its quirky texts on its bottles, which can only bring a smile to your face. The Body Crème for instance reads, ‘if you can’t spend a week bathing in pools of dead-skin-eating fish while being served dinner by trained psychologists, then this hand and body lotion is for you!

This gorgeous travel pack makes packing a whole lot easier, as the pack contains small convenient bottles of many of the essential hair and skincare products you need – and let’s face it, my hospital stay will just be for a few days, so it is absolutely pointless dragging along full sized bottles. As you may now, I absolutely love the haircare products from bhave, and the products have done wonders for my hair. One of the products I especially love is the Riot Control Oil, and I’m lucky to have a small travel sized bottle floating around. Just a pump or two or this oil instantly helps tame down any frizz, while giving the hair a healthy and natural shine. RRP: $48.95 (Full Size/100ml)

Lady Jayne Tangleze
While I know that I won’t feel like spending too much time styling m hair, of course I’ll also need to pack a hairbrush, and this compact Tangleze from Lady Jayne is the perfect choice, as it is simply so small and compact that it doesn’t take up much room. And it is so effective in detangling knotted tresses in both wet and dry hair, while being super gentle. And in addition, it has the most gorgeous black and white zebra design that makes it look stunning at the same time. RRP: $12.99

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Neon Lights Pomegranate & JasmineWith my long hair I never wash my hair every day, so I doubt this will be happening while I’m in hospital either, - and that’s when I rely on a good dry shampoo to refresh my tresses. And then I just cannot go past this new (and sadly limited edition) Neon Lights Dry Shampoo from Batiste with Pomegranate and Jasmine, as it simply leaves my hair smelling so good while leaving it clean and revitalised. Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion
One thing that I know I will need a little more off is body lotion, as again, my skin gets so horribly dry when in hospital, and moisturising lotion from Aveeno is perfect, as it has also helped me through the later stages of my pregnancy where my skin has become a little itchy. The thick cream has almost no scent and instantly provides instant moisture and relief to dry and irritated skin. RRP: $8.95

Uriage Eau Thermale D’UriageThis thermal water spray from Uriage is made from 100% natural thermal water, and just a fine spray across the face helps to moisture, and soothe the skin for hours, which I know it will be very quickly thanks to the constant airconditioning in the hospital. And it also instantly helps refresh the skin if it has become dry and irritated. RRP: 8.95


L’Occitane En Provence Shea Hand Cream in Zesty Lime
My hands always get horribly dry during winter, but this hand cream from L’Occitane has a high content of shea butter so it is extremely moisturising on the hands, yet absorbing quickly into the skin without any greasiness. Plus it leaves the most refreshing and zesty scent of lime lingering behind, which I just cannot resist! RRP: $13.00

Jurlique Hydra Gloss in Neutral
This gloss also acts as an extremely hydrating lip balm containing ingredients to soften, condition and smooth the lips, all while giving the lips a nice sheer glossy finish. RRP: $22.00


Simple Micellar Cleansing Water
This newly launched Micellar Cleansing Water from Simple is very gentle on the skin, and with just a few swipes over the face and eyes, it easily removes makeup (although struggling with waterproof mascara, without leaving a greasy residue behind. The Micellar Water is light and has a fresh scent, and doesn’t dry out my skin, and best of all, it is very gentle, so it doesn’t sting in my vey sensitive eyes! RRP: $9.99

Olay Wet Cleansing Towlettes
As I think I’ve mentioned many times before, I am not a huge user of facial wipes as I prefer to wash my face with a gel cleanser and splash water in my face afterwards, so I often just use them for when I’m in on long-haul flights, or swatching makeup products for the blog. But in saying that, I always have a pack handy, and will also be bringing these Wet Towlettes from Olay with me, as in case I am too drained and tired to wash my face, at least a wet towel is better than nothing. And I love the fact that these ones are alcohol and fragrance free so won’t dry out my skin. RRP: $6.95


SKII Facial Treatment Essence
I’ve been using the SKII Facial Treatment Essence for the past few weeks as a kind of toner, after cleansing my skin, but before my serum. The Essence contains the wonder ingredient, pitera, which SKII claims helps boost the collagen production and encourage new cell turnover. And within just a few short weeks, of using this odd-smelling Essence, my skin is not only more deeply moisturised and hence looking more plumb with fine lines and wrinkles reduced, but my skin also seems to have a more healthy glow. RRP: $100 (75ml)

 MyChelle Dermaceuticals G2 Instant Firming Serum
This serum from MyChelle is pack full of super anti-oxidants, phyto-nutrients and peptides that promises to instantly help improve the firmness of the skin and minimise the depth of wrinkles instantly, while refining skin texture too. And I’m impressed to say that you really do both see and feel that this serum has an effect on the skin, instantly making my skin looking more refreshed and plum, so it helps make you look more rested too when you wake up in the morning, even after a bad night’s sleep, and you can see the lifting results too when you use it under your foundation, so it’s just as perfect for daytime wear too. SkinInc Pure Nano Hydrating Gel
I’ve only been using this gel moisturiser for a very short time, but I am already in love. The light gel is a true multi-tasker helping to hydrate, repair, tone, protect and prime, and not to mention brighten the skin all at the same time. It is super moisturising and nourishing on the skin, yet perfect for my combination skin as it is so light and non-greasy and leaves my skin feeling velvety soft and matte. And as it is suitable for use both morning and evening, I only need to bring this one moisturiser with me. RRP: $163.00


Antipodes Kiwi Seed Eye Cream
One thing that I can never be without is a good eye cream, and this Kiwi Seed Eye Cream from Antipodes will provide my (more than likely) very tired looking eyes with some much needed cooling and soothing care, while adding moisture and softening fine lines. And I love the fact that the cream has been shown to scientifically shown to stimulate collagen production by up to 82%, so hopefully it can help keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay for a little longer! $44.99

 

 

Sisley Paris Eye Contour Mask
This amazing mask from Sisley will help refresh and soothe tired looking eyes instantly, and I love that it goes on clear so I can actually wear it during the day, and nobody would ever know. Or pop on a thin layer at night before bed, and wake up to eyes that are less puffy and looking more refreshed and younger. RRP: $150.00

 

Vanessa Megan Birth Ease Natural Labour Spray 
I was given this when I first announced my pregnancy, and since then it has been sitting in waiting to be put to the test. It is specifically designed for the hours of labour, to help assist with tensions, promote contractions and help build confidence during labour – and as the birth of our first boy was long, drawn out and a painful one too, I’m willing to give anything a try to make it faster and more comfortable too! Weleda Nipple Care Cream

Oh dear how I vividly remember how sore and cracked my poor nipples were when I started breastfeeding our little boy when he was born almost two years ago. I had to send hubby to the nearest chemist pronto to get me something that would give me some much needed relief. This time I’ll come prepared with the Weleda Nipple Care cream that is designed to both prepare for breastfeeding, as well as soothe and care for cracked nipples. RRP: $27.95

The Masque contains among others argan oil, macadamia seed oil and functional keratin, and left in the hair just 5-10 once a week, is making sure that my long thick hair is in top health all round. It simply corrects all the sins that heat styling, hair colouring and the sun’s harmful rays do to the hair, while leaving the hair not only stronger, but also feeling silky soft and looking healthy looking. 

The bhave Vent Brush that is also included in the pack is absolutely amazing too. It quickly and easily helps get rid of any tangles and knots in my hair, and due to the vents, it helps cut down drying time when I use a hairdryer too. TRAVEL ESSENTIALS

As you might have read by now, I am about currently in Europe, more specifically in Denmark visiting my family, along with our 15 month old boy, so that he can meet the rest of the family. Needless to say that I’m enjoying my time.


Getting here was pretty exhausting through, it is a long way to travel with such a little one, trying to keep him entertained all the time, but luckily he was very well behaved and got lots of attention from both flight attendants and fellow travellers too.


Travelling just the two of us suddenly meant that packing was a bit of a challenge, having to suddenly fit enough stuff for both of us into the one suitcase. And well, my boy needed the stuff he needs, including toys, so it meant that I sadly had to restrict the amount of stuff I took along, including shoes, makeup and skincare. It called for very smart packing. Here are some of the things that made the cut;


Benefit Radiant Skincare Set*

MediK8 Beta Cleanser*

My skin has always been prone to breakouts, and I know from experience that it can be difficult to keep up a good skincare routine when you’re on holidays, doing weekly face masks etc., so a good cleanser is absolutely vital in keeping my skin clean and clear. And the Medik8 betaCleanse™ is absolutely perfect to use as the second cleanse at night, to give the skin a deep cleanse, as it both cleanses deep down every pore, is antibacterial and gently exfoliating the skin at the same time. The cleanser contains beta hydroxy acid-salicylic acid with a novel niacinamide, tea tree oil and chlorhexidine gluconate blend to help improve the appearance of problematic skin, whilst helping prevent future breakouts, and all while being extremely gently on the skin and not stripping the skin of its natural oils. Being away for a few weeks of course I cannot neglect shaving, and this funky travel-sided shaver from Gillette is both ever so cute and absolutely perfect. This new razor has a very compact mini-handle, while still featuring the best Gillette Venus 5-blade you’ve become accustomed to, which is surrounded by a ribbon of moisture to keep your skin soft and smooth. And while the handle is so small, you still get the perfect grip. And what’s better is that it comes in a nifty little compact container so you can just pop it into your bag (suitcase that is, as they don’t allow shaving blades in carry-on luggage!) so you can continue to have super smooth skin while on holidays. And you don’t have to buy special blades as the mini-handle is interchangeable with the standard Venus Embrace blade refills.

Skindinavia Makeup Primer and Finishing Sprays*
 

 

It doesn’t matter how good a foundation you use, a good primer is always vital for a flawless finish. And the new travel sized Makeup Primer Sprays from Skindinavia are absolutely brilliant for travelling. The small 20 ml bottles come in two varieties, the No More Shine Makeup Finish is an oil-controlling makeup setting spray that helps my makeup stay put in the periods when it is greasy and nothing stays put past lunchtime, as it helps controls shine and absorbs oil over the face and t-zone and thus preventing the makeup from slipping. The finishing spray is a superfine mist that helps set the foundation quickly, and it helps prevent your foundation from fading or settling into fine lines. You are probably getting fed up with me raving about these products (you can see my review on the Rescue shampoo and conditioner here and the Riot Control Oil here) from bhave, but regardless how many other fantastic hair products I use, it is like my hair is ‘at home’ with these, simply behaving better, and looking and feeling so much nicer and healthier, and it is like it is getting heathier and healthier for each day I use the products. My hair is easier to comb and knots less, so I feel I damage it less when I comb it. And the Riot Control Oil not only controls my flyaway hairs and smooths it down, but it also makes the dry ends look stronger and healthier while giving my hair an amazing lustre and shine.

Lady Jayne Tangleze*

 

And of course you cannot neglect your hair. I have long thick hair and always carry around a hairbrush, which is usually quite bulky. But thanks to the new Tangleze from Lady Jayne that is a thing of the past. You see, the hairbrush fits into the palm of your hand, and it has a clever cover so you can protect the bristles from getting bent and damaged in an already overfilled handbag.

The Tangleze is surprisingly good on long hair, as it has dual-length bristles that quickly and easily, and very gently brushes the hair, and clears any tangles you might have, and in both wet and dry hair. All without the need to pull or drag at the hair, which is so much better for the hair, preventing damage and split ends. And the hairbrush is superlight (leaving room for another couple of lipsticks, guilty, you can never have too many lippies in your handbag, LOL), and it comes in a super cute and girlie black and hot pink colour combination.

Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush*

I have previously reviewed (you can see my review here) this facial cleansing brush, and while I have to be honest and admit that I have a few different I rotate, this one was my preferred choice to take away. Now, I wouldn’t normally take it with me on short breaks, but going away for a month, I simply feared my skin would start breaking out so much that I knew it had to make the trip too. So the reason I picked the VisaPure is that its design is a lot slimmer than other brushes. The brush is both rotating and rotating cleansing deep down every pore, while still being so gentle that it can be used twice a day. And as a bonus it is also waterproof so it can also be used in the shower.

Philips DiamondClean Black Edition Toothbrush*

  

As fittingly named, this toothbrush has been called the James Bond of toothbrushes! With its sleek matte black and chrome finish, it is simply the coolest and most stylish electric toothbrush I have ever seen. The toothbrush has a digital display that illuminates showing the five brush settings from Clean, White, Gum Care, Sensitive, and Polish. It is so high tech that it has been clinically proven to remove up to 100% of plaque from hard-to-reach places compared to a manual toothbrush, and to improve gum health in only two weeks.It is also clinically proven to whiten teeth in one week. WOW, that is impressive.

And when on holidays I know that I tend to eat a little naughtier than I otherwise do, a few more ice creams, a little more dessert, and of course, being in Denmark I cannot go past an authentic Danish Pastry. So this toothbrush was an absolute must in my suitcase to ensure my teeth stayed clean and healthy. And what’s even better is that the toothbrush comes with a cool black travel case with funky lime-green lining, and the case also doubles as a USB charger so you can charge it directly from your laptop. Nothing short of brilliant.

Mary Kay Thinking of You Pendant Perfume*
 

I have also previously reviewed this pendant perfume from Mary Kay (see my review here), and as I mentioned at the time, it is perfect for taking with you for adding a little fragrance during the day. And also doubling as a necklace, it was the perfect travel companion too. It has a lovely fruity scent and has a pretty good staying power, plus it looks stunning too, for both day and nighttime wear.
