Product Review: Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation

I am always looking for the perfect foundation. Something that will cover my increasing pigmentation, not settle into fine lines, and which will also stay put all day on my combination skin. Over the years I have tried countless foundations, some have been good and others not good at all, so the search continues!! So when I was asked to trial the *Perfecting Liquid Foundation from Arbonne, I happily accepted.

What They Say:
Multitasking liquid foundation with skin-firming properties helps lift the appearance of facial contours, smooth and even skin tone, while providing sun protection.

RRP: $55.00 (30ml) – Available in 15 shades from Arbonne Online

What I Say:
To be quite honest, it is only just recently that I have learnt of the Arbonne brand, and in fact, this foundation is the first Arbonne product that I have ever tried, so I did a little research.

Arbonne was founded in Switzerland, and all products are vegan-friendly and no products are tested on animals and do not contain animal-derived ingredients or animal by-products.

All Arbonne makeup items are also formulated without parabens, formaldehyde donating preservatives, petroleum based ingredients including benzene, mineral oil, petrolatum, phthalates, toluene and PABA. I love the sound of that!!

The Arbonne cosmetics line has furthermore been tested with a third-party research group for clinical performance and user preference evaluation with consumers. Results were determined with instrumentation to measure breathability, long-lasting wear, and moisturisation levels of the skin.

The Perfecting Liquid Foundation demonstrated an immediate increase in skin moisture content. Thirty minutes after application, the product was wiped off and the moisture content of the skin was measured again, and it had increased by nearly 30% compared to no product applied. Breathability was also measured. Product was applied to the skin, and 10 minutes later, an instrument measured the skin, and the foundation was found to be as breathable as naked skin.

The foundation contains the exclusive Optilight Technology that “helps ensure that the product is non-comodogenic, enhancing breathability and reducing the chance of pore clogging and skin issues." Finely sized pigments deflect light from the skin, that creates a soft-focus effect that gives skin a flawless appearance, and simultaneously, allow skin to breathe, with a light as air feeling and a healthy glow.

I trialled the Perfecting Liquid Foundation SPF15 in Buff, which suited my skin tone quite well. The tone of this foundation is yellow based, and it blends really well with my skin tone and also covers up any imperfections without the need to use a lot of foundation. So the coverage is absolutely fantastic from a just small pump of foundation, as it easily covered all manner of redness, blemishes and pigmentation leaving you with an even skin tone and natural-looking glowing finish – yet it is very light and non-greasy, and doesn’t feel thick and cakey on your face, it really does feel like you are wearing nothing!

Having combination skin, I usually have the problem, especially during the hot summer months, that the foundation starts sliding off my face at lunch time, and not to mention changes colour. Not the Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation, it simply stays in place all day without sliding off in the heat, settling into fine lines, rubbing off onto my clothing or changing colour.

At the same time as evening out my skin tone, it also gives my skin a nice glow, and with the added skin firming properties it helps to lift facial contours at the same time. Almost like giving your skin a facial treatment each time you wear it, how good is that!

Often long-wearing foundations are difficult to remove, but the Perfecting Liquid Foundation was quite easy to remove, using my cleanser and it came off almost immediately.

It comes in a handy plastic pump bottle which I really do like, as it is not only easy to use, but also very hygienic.
This foundation smells great too, as well as it comes with SPF15 which is always a plus for me. And it comes in 15 different shades, which is a pretty good selection, and should cover most skin tones without any issues.

All in all this is a fantastic foundation, I love that it has anti-ageing properties by firming facial contours, whilst softening and relaxing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, so rather than accentuating my flaws, my skin looks immaculate. So I highly recommend this foundation to anyone looking for a reliable, long lasting, easy to apply foundation with anti-ageing properties. I only wish that I had discovered Arbonne earlier!!

  1. I wish this product was sold in stores. I feel a bit odd ordering foundation online because I can't see the colours.

    1. I agree, Im also hesitant buying foundation online unless I know exactly which colour I need. It is just so difficult to get the right shade from looking at a small colour swatch on your computer screen!

  6. As a huge fan of Arbonne's previously sold foundation - Line Defiance - I have to say I am not as impressed with this line as far as application and coverage. I like the old product much better - it goes on much more smoothly and covers better. They do however sell very nice makeup.

  8. I love that this product shows an immediate increase in skin moisture. Having very dry skin I battle to find makeup that doesn't dry out my already depleted skin. This foundation sounds ideal.

  9. They recently changed the packaging, and I believe watered down the formula. I use two different ones to blend to my perfect color, and the old one is much creamier than the new one...it's watery. And don't love the new pump, the nozzle aims downward and the new watery formula tends to drip down. Why can't companies just leave well enough alone?!!
