FIREMAN SAM CELEBRATES 30-YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH LIMITED EDITION AUSTRALIA POST COLLECTORS STAMPS AND MEDALLION

I don't know what it is, but little boys are always seem so into firemen and policemen, and my little boys are definitely no exception, and hence also both huge fan of the TV Show Fireman Sam. 

And can you believe it, this year it's Fireman Sam's 30-year anniversary, - it is so rare these days for something to stick around that long, so to celebrate 30 years of popularity is such a milestone. The Firemen Sam program takes place in a fictitious rural village of Pontypandy in Wales, where it helps teach young children all about bravery, safety and the values of community spirit.

And it is not just fire emergencies that Fireman Sam comes to the rescue. He helps with all kinds of safety incidents in the town, from sea-borne or cliff-top disaster to BBQ fiascos. Fireman Sam can man the lifeboat and help with mountain rescues and even assist medical emergency team. Fireman Sam is always there, and he is such a true hero, it's no wonder he is loved by kids.

The program is now translated into over 25 languages and airs in more than 40 countries, proving Sam and his team are integral in spreading the message of safety to young kids around the world. In Australia, Fireman Sam remains as popular as ever, ranking within the top five pre-school programs.

To celebrate the anniversary, Australia Post has released a limited edition commemorative Fireman Sam collection which includes a licensed stamp pack and a medallion cover featuring Fireman Sam and other show favourites. Both products are ideal for kids and adults, whether it be as a collectable for stamp enthusiasts or as a memorable gift for birthdays and special occasions. “Both the stamp pack and medallion cover have been designed to encapsulate the world of fire and rescue, highlighting Sam’s bravery and safety messages'.

The Fireman Sam Collectable Stamp pack contains two sheets of 10 x $1 stamps with tabs, while the Fireman Sam medallion cover, made up of a colourful outer cover with postage stamp and a medallion housed in a complementing inner card. And I appears that the medallion has only been made in 3500 copies (we got number 2386!!), so truly limited edition.

Both the stamps and the medallion are so cute, and we definitely cannot see ourselves using these stamps, but will keep them as a collectors item so we can continue to admire them.
