My skin has been acting up a little lately, clearly not enjoying the effects of winter. On one hand, being a little drier than usual, but on the other not enjoying more intense moisturisers. A girl can’t win! So what’s better than pampering session. Here are some of the face masks from Skin Republic* that I've been enjoying lately.
- 24K Gold Peel Off Mask
- Platinum Peel-Off Mask
- Pink Clay Mud Sheet Mask
- Bubble Purifying + Charcoal Face Mask
- Brightening Vitamin C Face Mask Sheet.
- Platinum Lift Face Mask Sheet
I’ve always loved a peel off mask, as there is just something fun and satisfying about peeling it off afterwards. And the Platinum and 24K Gold ones makes it even more glam and luxurious to do a face mask.
The 24K Gold Peel-Off Anti-Ageing Face Mask is a mask that applies like glittery gold, and it looks simply stunning. But the gold doesn’t just look amazing, it also has anti-ageing benefits, helping to give the skin a deep clean, while the age-defying niacinamide, minerals, plant extracts and fruit extracts help intensely nourish the skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains fruit acids to help give the skin a gentle exfoliation to reveal a brighter and more luminous complexion.
The Platinum Peel-Off Anti-Oxidant Face Mask contains platinum which has deep cleansing properties along with anti-ageing as the Platinum has an exceptionally high skin absorption rate, so that the particles chemically attach to active anti-ageing ingredients helping them to penetrate deeper into the skin yielding better youth-renewing results. It also contains niacinamide to help hydrate and nourish the skin, along five different Fruit Acids along with real diamond powder to help give the skin a gentle exfoliation, buffing away the dead skin cells for a skin that is not only silky soft, but also smoother, brighter and more luminous.
I really love that they come in a little sachet which you can reseal, and the fact that there is sufficient product for three goes in the pack. I did initially think that the golden 24K Gold mask would be my favourite, simply as the anti-ageing tag make it appear more appropriate for my ageing skin, however, I actually feel that the extra fruit extracts in the Platinum one, helps make my skin even softer and give it even more glow.
Then there’s the Pink Clay Mud Sheet Mask. With skin prone to breakouts, I’ve always loved mud masks as the are so efficient at drawing out any impurities and unclogging the pores. But I have never heard of a mud sheet mask until now. This Pink Clay Mud Sheet Mask combines purifying pink clay with a sheet mask and helps unclog pores by drawing out dirt, impurities and toxins from the skin’s pores. It also contains Goji Berries and White Mulberries help fight free radicals, reduce the appearance of pigmentation, and make the skin look more radiant. This mask is so much easier, and not to mention less messy too, than a standard mud mask, so if you struggle with congested skin or need a radiance boost, then you’ll love this mask.
Another great option for those prone to breakouts, is the Bubble Purifying + Charcoal Face Mask Sheet. The mask is made with activated charcoal, and when exposed to the air, the oxygenating mask starts to bubble and foam when exposed to air, helping it clean deep into the pores, and this eliminating impurities. It also contains Fruit Acids which help gently exfoliate and rid the skin of dead skin cells for a skin that is softer and smoother as well as brighter and fresher looking. The bubbling effect is kind of fun and gives a tingling effect on the skin. And I quite like how it it makes my skin feel cleaner and more purified than with any other sheet mask I’ve used.
Then there’s the Brightening Vitamin C Face Mask Sheet, which has been infuse with vitamins Vitamin C, E along with 7 Plant Extracts which gently reduce the visible appearance of age spots and imperfections for a skin that brighter, more even and more radiant and luminous. The mask also contains antioxidants and hydrating nutrients, it also helps revitalise the skin and give it an instant moisture boost. I am really hooked on using vitamin C in my skincare at the moment, as it really does make a big difference to the evenness and luminosity of my skin, and this is a great option for an instant pick-me up if you look a little tired, or want a boost before a special night out.
Finally, there’s the Platinum Lift Face Mask Sheet, which is a lifting and firming mask. It is infuse with antioxidants to help fight environmental damage, and also contains Nano-Platinum, Trehalose and Pomegranate to help firm and lift the skin, enhance elasticity and texture, for a skin that is younger looking. And all while being rich in nourishing and hydrating ingredients too for a more healthy glowing skin. This mask is the least of my favourites - don’t get me wrong, while I do like it, and the ingredients do give my skin a moisture boost that helps make my skin look a little more plump and also glowing, I have not noticed any major difference in firmness of my skin.
