PRODUCT REVIEW: DU'IT BABY SKINCARE

My two little boys unfortunately have quite sensitive skin. We have experienced quite dry and eczema like skin, we can usually manage it, and keep their skin soft and healthy by using the right skincare products on them. And lately we’ve been enjoying the Baby range from DU’IT* - just take a look at those adorable bottle and tubes wit the oh so cute animals.

We’ve tried;

  • DU’IT Head to Toe 3-in-1 Baby Wash
  • DU’IT Calming Baby Moisturiser
  • DU’IT Moisturising Facial Serum
  • DU’IT Protective Nappy Change Cream
  • DU’IT Velvet Smooth Baby Liquid Powder

The DU”IT Head to Toe 3-in-1 Baby Wash is an all-round was suited for use as both wash, bath and shampoo. It contains plant extracts and 100 per cent certified organic oils, including honey, calendula and aloe vera extract to moisturise along with chamomile to help soothe and care for even the most sensitive or eczema prone skin on even newborns, thanks to also being free from sulphates, soap or petrochemicals that can dry and irritate the skin. It does have a very gentle and subtle scent suitable for even newborns, and I like that it is PH-balanced so it doesn’t irritate the balance of my boys’ skin, as well as that it is so mild that if it should get into their eyes, it won’t sting them.

Next up is the DU’IT Baby Calming Body Moisturiser, which is made using naturally derived ingredients and 100 per cent certified organic oils, including olive oil, avocado oil, apricot kernel oil, soy bean, aloe vera and tapioca starch. It helps add intense and long-lasting moisture to the skin, while soothing and protecting it. The moisturiser has a light non-greasy consistency, and it absorbs quick and without any greasiness, which I really like. It leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth, and dryness quickly disappearing. It has a pleasant very subtle gentle floral scent.

Then there’s the DU’IT Moisturising Facial Serum, and here I have to admit that its a first for me to see a facial serum for a baby. For myself, of course, and its a part of my usual morning and evening skincare routine, but never for a baby. But that said, quite excited about it, as I often find that the body moisturisers are simply not sufficient for the face, and often I find that I will reapply a few hours later. But with this facial serum, I’ve found that applying it just once, after their bath, is more than sufficient to keep their skin soft and moisturised and have also helped soothe and quickly heal irritated skin, after being outside in the wind, dribble rash, or even a ‘red nose’ from blowing the nose too frequently when having. I had expected it to be a very light consistency with the serum name, but rather it has a light moisturiser-consistency, and again, it absorbs quickly without any greasiness. it contains natural plant extracts and 100% certified organic oils, including a blend of olive oil, avocado oil, apricot kernel oil, evening primrose oil, aloe vera, calendula and pomegranate to help nourish, hydrate, heal and protect the skin. It has a lovely floral scent.

The DU’IT Protective Nappy Change Cream is a nappy cream that helps reduce the severity and duration of nappy rash when applied at the first signs of redness. It contains among others 20% zinc oxide, 100% certified organic oils and natural plant extracts, along with Calendula, shea and cooca butter and vitamin E, aloe vera and evening primrose oil to soothe the skin and ease discomfort. The thick and waterproof cream, leaves a protective barrier on the skin that helps moisturise and heal the skin, while helping to calm and soothe irritated skin. I’ve been using this cream on my little boy’s bum at every nappy change, and so far it is doing a fantastic job at protecting it from any rashes or irritations.

Finally, there’s the DU’IT Velvet Smooth Baby Liquid Powder, which is a baby liquid powder that is talc- and alcohol-free and naturally absorbs moisture, helping baby’s delicate skin feel comfortable and smooth. The cream transforms to a soft powdery consistency when applied to the skin, to avoid the disadvantages of dust or fish of inhalation, which has always been one of my reasons for not using baby powder on my little boys.
The liquid powder contains among others 100% certified organic oils and natural plant extracts, including tapioca starch to soothe and smooth as well as apricot, avocado and evening primrose to nourish and soften the skin. And it helps absorb excess moisture in the baby’s folds to keep the skin dry and free from irritation and nappy rash.

I wish this product had been around when my boys were younger and had the folds in the skin, but for now, where just my youngest one is still in nappies, while I think this is a great product, using the Nappy Change Cream on his bum at every nappy change, is more than sufficient.

Overall I’ve really enjoyed using these products on my boys and can easily see myself purchasing them again.
I love that they are not only made in Australia, but also made without the use of parabens, petroleum jelly, talc, alcohol, artificial fragrances, and that they are cruelty free too.

I am particularly liking the Facial Serum, thoroughly the small tube does come in the more expensive end for a small tube, but that said, I tend to spend a lot of money on my own skincare, so happy to on my boys’ skin as well.

Otherwise we are also particularly loving the tear-free Head to Toe 3-in-1 Baby Wash as it is so gentle on their skin, along with the Calming Baby Moisturiser, which keeps any dryness at bay.
