BRAND FOCUS: VILLA LODOLA

Today I’d like to introduce you to Villa Lodola, which is a brand recently launched in Australia. The brand originates from an official plantation located in the hills of the Upper Tiber Valley in Umbria, Italy. The brand consists of a group of certified organic, eco-friendly products that complement everyday hair and body regimes.

However, the ingredients used in the products are not only certified organic, all packaging including containers and communication materials have also been made with recyclable and low impact raw materials, using 100% clean and renewable energy.

I got the opportunity to try a selection of the *Villa Lodola products, here are my thoughts;

Villa Lodola Eco Organic Sensitive Scalp Clay Treatment*

This Sensitive Scalp Clay Treatment is a hair mask like no other I have ever tried. You basically massage it into your dry scalp and massage it in until the whole scalp is covered with the clay, which does make you look rather hilarious. You then leave it in for 5-10 minutes, add a little water while you massage, and you get the lather of a normal shampoo. You then wash the hair, and follow with a shampoo. The scalp treatment contains among others white clay to help absorb excess sebum, impurities and toxins for the scalp, sage, Echinacea and liquorice extract to act as antiseptics skin purifier, while yarrow and burdock helps to soothe the scalp and regulate sebaceous secretion. I don’t have particularly sensitive scalp, or produce that much sebum to be honest, but still, this mask did leave my scalp feeling incredibly clean without any irritations.

Villa Lodola Eco Organic Quotidie Daily Moisture Shampoo*

This shampoo contains among others linseed and lime tree extract as well as lavender oil, and is designed to deep clean the hair and reinforce the hair fibre, whilst still being so gentle that it can be used daily without drying out the hair or the scalp. And even though I only wash my hair every second day, just one wash is sufficient to leave it feeling squeaky clean and soft, ready for conditioner. It has a gorgeous natural scent of herbs and lavender that you can only love as it is so gentle and you know it is natural without any artificial fragrances used.

Villa Lodola Eco Organic Sericum Repair Conditioner*

I follow with the Sericum Repair Conditioner which is a restorative and shine boosting conditioner designed for dull, dry and sensitive or colour-treated hair. It contains among others calendula and marsh mallow extracts and grapefruit peel oil and it helps to protect the hair from dehydrating and giving it lustre and softness. The conditioner is quite concentrated and you can feel it instantly absorb into the hair, and after leaving it in for a few minutes, you can immediately feel the goodness of the conditioner as it leaves my hair feeling every so soft and without feeling weighted down. It has a gorgeous fresh scent from the grapefruit, which I really like.

Villa Lodola Eco Organic Delicatum Hydrating Shower Gel*

This shower gel contains among others organic barley and honey extracts and it gently cleans even the most sensitive and delicate skin – in fact, it is so gentle that you can also use it as a shampoo! It lathers up to the softest lather, leaving you skin soft and smooth without being dried out.

Villa Lodola Eco Organic Delicatum Hydrating Body Milk*

I follow with the body milk, which also has been formulated with organic barley acting as an emollient and protective, while honey is adding nourishment and moisture to the skin. The lotion has a quite thin consistency, yet it is surprisingly moisturising, absorbing into the skin instantly, leaving it feeling silky soft without any tackiness.

Both the shower gel and the body milk also have gentle natural scents, and especially the scent of the body milk does linger for a while on the skin. But as it is natural and also subtle that it doesn’t clash with my perfume, I don’t mind it.

All the Villa Lodola products come in simple heavy duty plastic bottles with floral and herbal drawings on them, they have a simple label, and a silver metal screw lid which also holds the little information booklet that is tied around the neck of the bottle.

Overall, I have really enjoyed using these products, and can see myself purchase them again. I have in particular enjoyed the shower gel and the body lotion, and hope that maybe one day there will be more varieties and scents available.

There are a total of 11 different Villa Lodola products currently available in Australia, including several different shampoos and conditioners. All of the products are available from Priceline and retail at $17.95 for the 200ml/250ml bottles, which personally I find is very reasonable considering the products are certified organic.

  1. Fantastic products for such a good price. The scalp mask sounds sooo interesting. It reminds me a little bit of a Lush hair mask I've previously used.

    1. They certainly are. The scalp mask is very different to anything I've tried before too. I've never really tried that much from Lush, but it definitely is on my to-do list..
