What They Say:
"Multivitamin
Thermofoliant combines a unique self-heating technology with powerful chemical
and mechanical exfoliants to smooth and refine while facilitating penetration
of multivitamin actives into skin. After just one use, skin is noticeably
smoother with improves texture. It should be used two to three times per
week in an alternating sequence with skin resurfacing cleanser to avoid over
exfoliation; this will ensure firmer, smoother and healthier looking skin."
"Skin Resurfacing Cleanser: A dual-action exfoliating cleanser
containing Lactic Acid that smoothes, retextures and delivers ultra-clean skin."
"Antioxidant HydraMist: A refreshing antioxidant shield with flash-firming
properties to improve skin texture, fight environmental assault and intensely
hydrate alipoid, dehydrated skin."
The Dermalogica Multivitamin Thermafoliant is a gel that contains tiny little
beads, so small you can hardly feel them, and once applied to the skin, the gel warms up on
the skin when water is applied. The warmth helps open the pores in the skin for
a better clean, and I love how it makes the skin feel warm, yet it is still a
comfortable heat, and not so warm that it becomes uncomfortable. After
massaging the Thermafoliant into the skin for a few minutes, dull skin is
removed and my skin is left feeling silky smooth, soft and refined, yet without
over-scrubbing or irritating the skin. My skin simply looks radiant and
glowing.
The Multivitamin
Thermafoliant contains both physical and chemical exfoliants to refine
the skin texture and enhance the penetration of age-fighting vitamins into the
skin. It also contains lactic acid, which helps stimulate cell turnover and
prickly pear extract to accelerate the skin’s natural exfoliation process. It
also contains white tea to suppress the formation of collagen degrading and
vitamins A, C and E to brighten the skin tone, provide defence against damaging
free radicals and help promote skin firmness.
The scrub has a lovely gentle fruity scent, and I love that
it does not contain any artificial colours or fragrances.
The scrub is quite concentrated so only a little is needed,
and as it is so efficient, I only need to use it twice a week, so the 75ml tube
will last me forever. And after having used it for several weeks, I feel that
especially my t-zone where I have particularly large pores, is more refined and
feels less greasy, and consequently my makeup not only looks nicer, but also
stays put for longer. However, I am yet to see any skin firming effects.
The Multivitamin
Thermafoliant came in a gift box with two free deluxe samples including
a Skin Resurfacing Cleanser, and an Antioxidant HydraMist.
The Skin Resurfacing Cleanser is a two in one exfoliating
cleanser. It comes in an easy to use little pump bottle, and just a few small
pumps is sufficient to cleanse the face. As it is an exfoliating cleanser, I
use my standard cleanser to first remove my makeup, and then follow with the
Skin Resurfacing Cleanser. And after massaging it into my damp skin for 30
seconds as recommended, even though you cannot feel any exfoliating particles,
my skin is left so unbelievably soft and smooth.
I follow with the Antioxidant HydraMist, which also comes in
a small pump bottle, and is a thick spray. It doesn’t spray on very evenly, so
I feel I need to pad it into my skin, but just 2-3 pumps is sufficient, and
leaves my skin feeling relaxed and moisturised.
Both the Skin Resurfacing Cleanser, and an Antioxidant
HydraMist have a slightly strange scent which I can’t quite explain, and
unfortunately the scent of the HydraMist does linger around for a while, but
considering there are no artificial fragrances in these products.
The products are not cheap, but they are very concentrated,
and will last you a while – and while the Skin Resurfacing Cleanser, and an
Antioxidant HydraMist purchased on their own cost $14.45 each, they were
included as bonuses in the pack I received, and hence making it a great
purchase.
What I Like:
- The products are so gentle
- That the products refine my skin and make it glow
- The products contain no artificial fragrances of colour
What I Don’t Like:
- The slightly strange scent
- I am yet to see firming effects as promised
Overall, these are lovely products, and I love how they make
my skin feel and look. I will enjoy using the remainder of these products, and
I will definitely look into other products from Dermalogica.

Wow, I thought that the Dermalogica products were available all over the world!!! But luckily there's always online shopping :-)
DeleteI love dermalogica, but I agree that some of the products smell a bit weird haha! The scrub sounds lovely though :D
ReplyDeleteI don't remember reading anywhere else about the smells, but I am so glad to hear I'm not the only one thinking the product smell weird!
DeleteI love Dermalogca products. I'm not exactly sure which products/range it was but my old beautician used to use them when doing my facials. I have since moved and am no where near that salon any more so maybe I should invest in some for home. Thanks for the reminder :)
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I've only used small samples from ie the David Jones beauty totes, and although I've really liked the products, I just tend to forget about the brand too - but the products are really nice, so I'll definitely make an effort in the future to check out their products.
DeleteThe thermofoliant is my favourite. I also love Dermalogica multivitamin Serum. It is high in Vitamin A and is just wonderful. I cant stop touching my face after I use it ha!

I really must try some more Dermalogica products, as those I have tried have been amazing, and yes, let my skin so soft I cant help but keep touching it either!
DeleteI have to agree with what you said that Dermalogica has a scent to it. I don't find it bad or cloying - I guess what I'm trying to say is, some people I know who use Dermalogica tell me that the products they're using from the brand are completely fragrance free. So it's good to know I'm not alone (all this time I thought my sense of smell is out of whack). Anyway, going back to your review, the Multivitamin Thermafoliant is one of my HG exfoliators right now. It's very gentle on my sensitive/combination skin and I've been using it onand off for the last three years (I test a variety of exfoliators every now and then but I always go back to this one). I'm interested with the Antioxidant HydraMist becuase I'm looking for a skin mist that will rehydrate my skin after my daily 1-hour jogging routine. I was hoping this one won't have any strange scent to it - how do you find the scent? Was it particularly off?
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny, and I'm so sorry for my delayed reply. I am glad I'm not the only one finding the products have a strange scent. Unfortunately I also find that the HydraMist has a strange scent too, but guess I've just accepted it because I really like the product!
DeleteI have very oily skin, and I have used a variety of cleansers that have been too harsh or too mild. I used Dermatologica, but I didnt like how many chemicals were in the product, and it was super expensive. My dermatologist said I should try Citrus Clear. I have never used a product that agreed so much with my facial skin as the Citrus Clear Sensitive Moisturizer. It has NO chemical ingredients.
ReplyDeleteThe big pores on my nose have decreased significantly. I have always had big pores on my nose and it is a surprise for me to see them so small. I was HARDCORE Dermatologica, but Im so happy i switched to Citrus Clear.
I have never heard of that brand before, but I'm glad to hear you've found some products that work for your skin.
