PRODUCT REVIEW: BHAVE - FOR THE HEALTHIEST HAIR EVER

With any beauty products, it is very rare for me to say that certain products are my ultimate favourites, simply as there are so many great products out there - but one brand has managed to woo me again and again, and I can thereby safely say that it is my favourite, most trusted holy grail brand - the brand is bhave, so let's talk a little about their incredible products..

I have talked about bhave countless of times, yes, as a beauty blogger I am very fortunate to get to try a lot of different products, but once a trial period is completed, more often than not, do I return to my beloved bhave products. If you missed them, you easily find all my previous features and reviews of all their products via my product directory.

In case you’ve never heard bhave brand before, I can tell you that it is an Australian brand and all their products are free from parabens, sulphates and sodium chloride.
Let's start with the bhave Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner (you can see my full review here), which claims to be able to nurse traumatised hair back to good health with regular due to the products containing the functional keratin technology that has the unique ability to penetrate the hair shaft and repair damage, rebuilding each hair strand from the inside out. And as well as repairing and restoring existing damage, bhave also claims that regular use will form a protective shield around the hair strands providing it with around the clock defence against damage.

I have quite long and thick coloured hair, and when I use this combo, I can immediately tell the difference in both the feel and look of my hair. My hair simply looks and feels so much softer and shinier, and my otherwise dry and slightly damaged ends, seems to be less damaged, and consequently flyaways and frizz also seems to be tamed, so my hair overall looks healthier. These products are at the higher price end for shampoos and conditioners, but truly believe that they help keep my hair in better health, so I essentially can stretch my hair appointments as my hair is so well cared for.

Then there's the bhave Leave-In Creme (you can see my full review here), which a treatment to be used in damp hair after washing it. It contains among others macadamia nut, jojoba and argan oil to help soften, nourish and moisturise the hair, along with functional bioactive keratin and peptides to restore the hair's elasticity and protect the hair from breaking, while also helping to tame the hair and control frizzy and fly-away hair and give it thermal protection during heat styling. The Leave-In treatment is quite thick, and you only need a little, and you do have to be cautious not to use too much, so take it slow. But it leaves the hair seriously softer, smoother and stronger, and thereby healthier too. And in spite of the richness of this leave-in, it doesn't weigh down the hair (unless you use too much), but rather, actually gives my limp hair more volume. It has a lovely subtle coconut scent.

Next up is the bhave Riot Control Oil (see my full review here), which contains Certified organic Argan Oil that is jam-packed with antioxidants that help strengthen and nourish the hair. The light and non-greasy oil helps keep the hair soft, and it also helps smooth down frizz and flyaways, all while adding a beautiful healthy shine to the hair. It can be used in both wet hair before heat styling, as well as after for a glossy finish. I personally like to use it in my dry hair, after heat styling, and on the days where I am not washing my hair, to give my hair a moisture boost, and to help smooth down any frizz and give it some shine. Again, you'll need the smallest amount as it is so concentrated, and using too much will leave your hair looking greasy. It comes in a cool silver pump bottle that not only looks very luxe, but also is very easy to use.

Then there's the bhave Fresh Ends (see my full review here) is a leave-in cream that has been specifically designed for distressed and damaged ends. It is best used in dry hair, although if needed, it can also be used on towel-dried hair. Personally I like to use the Leave-In creme as above in my towel-dried hair, and once my hair is styled and dry, use this in the ends, as well as on the days where a not washing my hair. The formula contains raw natural keratin and slow releasing peptides as well as certified organic argan oil to that helps to continuously repair hair damage and strengthen the elasticity of the hair, and it leaves the hair silky soft and smooth. It also helps to control flyaway hairs, while treating split ends, all while making the hair look so healthy. The Fresh Ends comes in a nifty and easy to use push-top jar, that dispenses the treatment from the top, which I find super cool.

The bhave Super Nova Leave In Elixir (see my full review here), is one of the latest additions to the bhave range, and as the name suggests, it is a true 'super' hero as it is such a multi-tasking product. It helps treat a multitude of hair issues from detangling and adding moisture to the hair, fights frizz and smooths the hair, repairs and strengths brittle, damaged locks and split ends, thicken thinning hair and promote new growth, balance the scalp, protect the hair colour from fading due to UV rays, - and of course, leaves the hair looking soft, healthy and shiny.

The light treatment spray is to be used in towel dried hair, and gets all its super powers from among others sunflower seed oil, aloe vera and other fruit and flower extracts. It comes in a super stylish shiny silver bottle, and it smells amazing too. This is seriously super amazing!!

Finally, there's the newest product launch, the bhave Curl Defining Creme. My hair has always been super straight, to the point that I only ever straightened it to smooth down frizz, but since my last pregnancy, my hair has decided that it wants to go curly in the back, which looks rather odd seeing the front parts of my hair is still straight. While I have always liked my straight hair, I also remember wanting some more volume, and now that I have more, I am not enjoying it as especially on the days where I do not wash my hair, it is clearly looking drier and frizzier than ever before. Enter the bhave Curl Defining Creme. This treatment is best used in damp hair and it contains among others sunflower seed oil, murumuru seed butter and carnuba wax, to add extra moisture and seals it into the hair to define curls and help restore elasticity and smoothness, and reduce frizz while also developing new hair grown and prevent the hair from becoming dry and brittle. This treatment has made such a difference to my hair, making my hair so much more manageable especially on the days where I wash it, as it leaves my hair is even curlier as I can now 'tease' it up so much more. And on even on the days where I don't wash it, it is clearly 'retaining' the moisture, and using just a few pumps of Riot Control is now sufficient to banishing the frizz again and make it look shiny and healthy again.

So there you have it, some of my ultimate haircare products from bhave - these products are seriously amazing, and will without a doubt do wonders for your hair too, so do yourself the favour and try them out, you won't regret it. You can thank me later!!

PRODUCT REVIEW: JOHN FRIEDA FRIZZ EASE

Today I'm going to talk about the newly formatted and designed products from the John Frieda Frizz Ease range..

The John Frieda Frizz Ease range has been designed to help combat frizz to make women create the hairstyle they desire from curly to wavy, sleek and straight. There are many different reasons why hair becomes frizzy, and causes can range from humidity, rain, heat styling and hair colouring, but the John Frieda have thought about it all, with specific products for every concern, and today I'm going to talk about some of these products..

The John Frieda Frizz Ease® Miraculous Recovery® Shampoo and Conditioner have targeted Anti-Damage Technology that helps moisture and nourish the hair while repairing split ends and surface damage, in fact, it promises to reverse 75% of the surface damage on your hair, while also building a resilience to frizz over time for hair that is 3x smoother. The products have a gorgeous subtle warm fragrance that just gorgeous. These products are perfect for coloured hair such as mine, which always send to get a little frizzier during the winter months. However, since using this duo, I have noticed that my hair is not only feeling silky soft and smooth, I have definitely also seen a definite reduction in the amount of frizz that I get.

Then there's the John Frieda Frizz Ease® Extra Strength 6 Effects™ + Serum, which is a hair treatment that has the highest concentration of frizz fighters in the Frizz Ease range. It is enriched with silk proteins to fight frizz by blocking out humidity, tame and smooth coarse unmanageable hair, as well as work as a defence to weather and thermal protectant while heat styling for all hair types. Oh, and it hydrates dry ends to!. The serum is quite light and non greasy, but also very concentrated, so you only need to use a little ( I need two pumps in my long thick hair), but go slow, as if you use too much, your hair will end up greasy. It is best used in wet hair. It comes in a convenient pump bottle with a unique inner core, which does make it quite cool, but also bigger than it really is.

John Frieda Frizz Ease® Secret Weapon Finishing Creme is intended to be applied to dry hair, and immediately transform dry and parched hair into smooth, supple and shiny hair. The treatment creme helps replace natural oils lost due to blow-drying and daily stress, tear and wear of the hair, and it helps smooth dullness and split ends too. And as it also adds moisture to the hair thanks to the added avocado oil, and it leaves the hair looking glossy, it also immediately looks so much nicer and healthier too. I love the scent of this treatment, and that I can use it on the days I don't wash my hair to freshen up my hair. It is very concentrated so you only need a little, yet it is also super light, and non-greasy too, so it won't leave your hair looking greasy or weigh it down.

Finally, there's the John Frieda Frizz Ease® Dream Curls Styling Form. And let me start by saying that I normally have fairly straight long hair, although it for some reason, after my second pregnancy, has started going a little curly in the back, while the rest of my hair remains straight. At the moment, it is still more straight than curly (or guess I should call it curvy), but I have been experimenting a little with this styling foam that promises to help enhance and create soft touchable waves that look natural, and I really like the look of what it does to my hair, just very unfortunate that the front part of my hair remains straight! To encourage some waves in that part of the hair too, I have been trying to apply the foam at night, before putting my hair into a plait (which I always do at night as it is so long), and when I wake in the morning, it really looks great, with natural waves, that look healthy and shiny! I'll continue to experiment with this styling foam in my confused hair, but if you've got wavy or curly hair, you should check this one out. It smells absolutely amazing too!

John Frieda Frizz Ease® Miraculous Recovery® Shampoo - RRP: $15.99 / 250ml
John Frieda Frizz Ease® Miraculous Recovery® Conditioner - RRP: $15.99 / 250ml
John Frieda Frizz Ease® Extra Strength 6 Effects™ + Serum - RRP: $16.99 / 50ml
John Frieda Frizz Ease® Secret Weapon Finishing Creme - RRP: $16.99 / 113ml

PRODUCT REVIEW: KEVIN MURPHY SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH, SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE, DOO.OVER AND LEAVE-IN.REPAIR

With long chemically treated hair, I am always looking for great hair care products to keep my hair healthy and shiny. One of those brands I really enjoy for its incredible results is Kevin Murphy (you can find all my previous reviews via the labels to the left of the blog), so I was excited to put the newest offerings to the test..

The new shampoo and conditioner from Kevin Murphy, SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH and SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE has been designed to help the hair tame frizz, by using naturally derived ingredients and biomimetic technology.

The Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH contains among others monoi oil from gardenia flower to smooth and tame he hair, sunflower seed extract to protect the hair, and murumuru seed butter for healthy hair and growth, and olive fruit oil to imitate the natural oils of a healthy scalp.

The Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE contains among others a keratin protein to give the hair extra strength and shine, along with cocoa seed butter to heal damaged ends and improve flexibility, along with Brazil nut oil to help protect, nourish and protect the hair from future damage.

Both products have a slight smell of coconut, which I wish they didn’t, as it is not my preferred scent, however, as the results speak for themselves, I can certainly put up with this smell - which by the way, I know others will absolutely love. And the products really do leave my hair feeling so soft and smooth, from the very first use. The dry ends of my hair, seem healthier, and frizz is definitely minimised to the point where I don't feel that I absolutely have to use an oil serum to smooth it down.

I also love the square upside-down bottles, which are not only super funky, but also makes it possible to completely empty the bottles without any wastage.

The Kevin Murphy LEAVE-IN.REPAIR is as the name suggests a leave-in treatment which helps treat hair damaged by colouring, harsh sun or everyday pollutants. This treatment can be used in either damp or towel dried hair, and is using anti-ageing skincare research to help nourish and protect the hair and prevent further damage and breakage. It is free from parabens and contains among others rose geranium, clove leaf oil, jojoba seed oil, green tea protein and bamboo leaf extract as well as pineapple and papaya enzymes to help repair the hair and increase moisture retention, for a reconstructed and revitalised hair, that is shinier and healthier.

The actual treatment is thin and light, and absorbs quickly and easily into the hair, without making it look or feel greasy, or weighing it down, and like all other Kevin Murphy products, it is a lovely natural scent from the natural ingredients. I really love how soft and smooth this treatment makes my hair, and I love that I can use it in both wet and dry hair, so I can also give my hair an extra moisture boost and protection on the days I don’t wash it. It comes in a gorgeous, and architecturally shaped pastel blue bottle that looks stunning in the bathroom, and is easy to use thanks to the pump.

I have also really been loving the Kevin Murphy DOO.OVER, which is a dry powder finishing hairspray, designed to be used on dry hair to remove any excess moisture and oil, and give the hair more volume at the same time, to help revive and refresh, or you can say 'doo' over your hairstyle, and this extending the period between hair washes.

The DOO.OVER contains among others tapioca starch to help keep the hair soft and remove excess oil and moisture, as well as Virginian cedar wood for its astringent and antiseptic properties, along with silica to increase the hair's volume and shine, while providing just a tiny bit of hold, sufficient to stop those frustrating flyaways.

DOO.OVER smells kind of like most hairsprays, but I really like this one, as it has helped add so much volume into my heavy and flat long hair by spraying it onto the roots, all while being such a lifesaver when I'm in a rush in the mornings and haven't got time to wash my hair. Other sprays like this also often make the hair look white and dull, but not this one, which does give it a touch of sheen, which is a refreshing change. Yes, a little pricey, but absolutely worth it. And besides, who can resist that pretty pink can!!

Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH - RRP: $38.95 / 250ml
Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE - RRP: $39.95 / 250ML
Kevin Murphy LEAVE-IN.REPAIR - RRP: $49.95 / 200ml
Kevin Murphy DOO.OVER - RRP: $42.95 / 250ml

Available from select salons - for stockist details, visit Kevin Murphy

PRODUCT REVIEW: LESS IS MORE HAIRCARE

Today I'm going to introduce you to a brand new premium organic hair and bodycare brand called Less is More.

Less is more comes from Vienna, and is made exclusively from 100% organic plant-based active agents including plant oils, phyto extracts, essential oils, blossom waters, Mascobado cane sugar, honey, beeswax, lecithin, spirit of wine and glycerine, coming from organic farms which prioritise the sustainable use of resources, and keeping the environmental footprint is thus kept as low as possible.

I also love that the products are free from all the chemical nasties including synthetic preservatives, fragrances, dyes and polymers; silicones and paraffins, petrochemicals, PEG and PPG, parabens, sulfates, glycols, phthalates etc., and they are not tested on animals.

I've put the Mallowsmooth Shampoo and Conditioner and the Lavender Smooth Balm to the test, along with the Lavender Smooth.

The Less is More Mallowsmooth Shampoo and Conditioner are intended for dry, thick and brittle hair, and is an intensively moisturising range that gently cares for the hair, while also protecting hair colour from fading. The key ingredients in both products are Rosehip, mallow and coconut oils, and the shampoo is using the mildest lathering agent from Coconut oil, sugar and amino acids, to gently cleanse the hair from styling residues and environmental toxins, while caring for the hair and scalp.

The conditioner is an intensive treatment for thick, dry, thick or brittle hair, and it aims to smooth the hair structure, adding moisture to the hair thanks to the bio-active, virgin plant oils and phyto extracts.

After washing my hair with these products, my hair feels so lovely. It is clean, without feeling squeaky clean or stripped for moisture, and the conditioner leaves my hair feeling so silky soft and smooth, and without weighing my hair down or making it look greasy. I also love that the conditioner can be used as both a conditioner or a hair mask, so if you feel your hair needs a little extra TLC, you can simply leave it in the hair a little longer.

Both products have the most gorgeous natural scent from the 100% organic essential oils from Palmarosa, Ylang Ylang, Rose Geranium, Orange and Mandarin.

Then there's the Less is More Lavender Smooth, which is a nourishing leave-in conditioner, suitable for dry and thick hair. This treatment is best used in damp hair, and doesn't need to be rinsed out, and it adds an extra moisture boost to the hair, while also helping to smooth down any frizz and prevent split ends, but I also love that it helps protect the hair during heat styling, and even from the sun damage, thanks to the herbal extracts, plant oils and wheat proteins. It has a lovely natural scent from the 100% organic essential oils from Lavender, Rose Geranium and Atlas Cedar, although the lavender scent is the most dominant.

The less is More products come in simple white bottles with black labels, and needless to say that I love that simplistic monochrome look. And overall I have really enjoyed using these products from Less is More. I love their philosophy, and the fact that there are no nasties in the products, and that the gorgeous scents are from natural essential oils. But equally important, I can also tell that the products are of premium quality as they make my long thick, and coloured hair look and feel silky soft and smooth, and very healthy - so if you're looking for some natural products, then I highly recommend that you check them out.

Less is More Mallowsmooth Shampoo - RRP: $42 / 200ml, $10 / 30ml
Less is More Mallowsmooth Conditioner - RRP: $42 / 200ml, $10 / 30
Less is More Lavender Smooth - RRP: $40 / 150ml, $13 / 30ml

Available from Less is More and from Select Salons

PRODUCT REVIEW: BHAVE SUPER NOVA LEAVE IN ELIXIR

I'm really excited about today's feature - simply because it is about bhave - my favourite hair care brand's newest launch, the Super Nova Leave In Elixir.

If you're not familiar with bhave, do yourself a favour and get acquainted, you and your hair won't be disappointed.

bhave is an Australian salon hair care brand free from harmful chemical including parabens, sulphates, sodium chloride, and of course they have not been tested on animals either.

As a beauty blogger I naturally get to try my fair share of products and brands, and yes, there are some great ones out here, but my hair is always at its healthiest, shiniest and best b-havior, when I use my trusted bhave products. In case you've missed all my reviews of all the bhave products, you can easily find them in my product directory.

Now onto the bhave Super Nova Leave In Elixir treatment which contains among a long list of natural fruit and vegetable extracts including others;

  • Apple extract, fennel and vegetable protein to help slow down the process of split ends
  • Aloe Vera and citrus fruit extract to help fight frizz, soothe and smooth down the hair
  • Sunflower seed oil to help nourish and restore damaged hair
  • Grape seed extract to help protect the hair from UV damage
  • Rosemary leaf extract to help strengthen brittle hair
  • Apple and rosemary extract to help promote hair growth
  • Orange fruit extract and fennel to help thicken and strengthen the hair
  • Fennel, calendula, rosemary, and apple extracts to help soothe and balance the scalp thanks to anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial actions
  • Chamomile extract, sunflower oil and calendula extract to add shine

So, as you can read above, the Super Nova truly is an incredible multi-tasker that also helps treat, nurture and repair damaged hair, all while also adding moisture and help detangle the hair.

The Super Nova Leave In Elixir has the most beautiful orange-citrusy scent, and it is to be used in just washed, towel dried hair, by spritzing a tiny amount from roots to the tip of the ends, and as it is so concentrated, it only takes a little. Hereafter you can style your hair as usual.

Most days I leave my hair to dry naturally, and after using the Super Nova I can really tell that my hair is not only so much easier to manage as flyaways are controlled, split ends are treated, and my hair is simply given a boost of hydration, which makes it look and feel so much smoother and softer, and looking so much healthier too with a nice glossy shine.

I am yet to see if is actually making my hair stronger, or grow faster - but regardless, I love the immediate effect that it has on my hair, making it look so healthy and shiny, and all without making it feel greasy or weighing it down.

It comes in a super stylish silver pump bottle (although the shiny finish does make it difficult for an amateur photographer!), and  I'm so in love with this elixir, absolutely incredible - but then again, I wouldn't have expected anything less from bhave, so do yourself a favour and give this one a try!

bhave Super Nova Leave In Elixir - RRP: $41.95 / 120ml

PRODUCT REVIEW: ORIBE APRES BEACH WAVE AND SHINE SPRAY AND SUPERSHINE MOISTURISING CREAM

Today I'd like to talk about a couple of products from Oribe, which have received so many positive rave reviews lately, the Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray and the Supershine Moisturising Cream.

Let's start with the Oribe Apres Beach Wave And Shine Spray. This spray claims to give your hair beach-inspired waves without any of the salty stiffness, all while adding moisture and shine to the hair. It gives the hair a light hold, and helps create a wavy texture in the hair.

The formula contains among others watermelon, lychee and edelweiss flower extracts to help defend the hair against stress, photo ageing and deteriation of natural keratin while protecting it from the elements.

It also contains Pro-vitamin B5 to make the hair shaft swell to create waves, as well as a blend of moisturisers, plant extracts and oils to give the hair a silky soft texture and natural UV protection, all while conditioning and renewing damaged hair and adding body and shine.

I used to have more or less dead-straight hair, but the something happened during my last pregnancy, and my hair is now starting to get a little curvy, so I do enjoy adding products to my hair to explore this new hair of mine, while still easily being able to straighten it.

The Apres Beach Spray can be used in both wet or dry hair, and is simply sprayed to the mid-lengths of the hair, before tousling the hair to taste and leaving it to dry. And the result is hair that has more touchable texture and volume, that also controls frizz and flyaways, and leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy - and smelling incredible.

Then there's the Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream, which is essentially a leave-in cream that adds intense moisture to dry hair, to help calm frizz, add shine and restore the hair to healthy softness. The Cream is best used in damp hair after washing it, after which you can blow dry it or leave it to dry naturally, but you can also apply a little to dry hair to help tame frizz and flyaways.

Like the Apres Beach, the Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream is chock full of natural flower extracts and nourishing oils, and it adds to many benefits to the hair without weighing it down or building up in the hair. I really love this Moisturising Cream, and I can feel how it absorbs into my long hair, prone to dryness at the ends, and it immediately makes my hair feel and look so much healthier and shinier, and leaves my hair with the most divine scent too. This is the perfect everyday treatment for my long hair.

Both the Apres Beach and the Supershine Moisturising Cream come in super stylish purple packaging, and smell amazing - they are on the pricey side of hair care products, but that said, they are also extremely concentrated, so you really only need to use a little.

I have found two new favourites, and would hate to be without them, as I really do love what they do to my hair, how I can create a casual 'un-done' tousled hair style, with the Apres Beach and how my hair is day after day benefiting from the Supershine Moisturising Cream. These products are truly luxurious and so beautiful to use, so well worth the extra spend.

Oribe Apres Beach Wave & Shine Spray - RRP: $27 / 75ml
Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream - RRP: $24 / 50ml

LEAVE-IN HAIR TREATMENTS FOR EVERY TASTE AND BUDGET

Today I'd like to chat a little about leave-in hair treatments. Having very long hair, I am all too used to the dry and split ends, in spite of getting regular hair cuts, and using good haircare products. One of those haircare products I can never be without, is leave-in treatments, as although I always use good conditioners when I wash my hair and also frequently use intensive masks, I feel that my hair needs that little bit of extra moisture that a leave-in treatment can give.

Here I have looked into four different products which come at different price points..

Starting with the cheapest, there's Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 BB Crème, which as the name suggests boasts a massive 10 benefits for the hair, including moisturising, smoothing, detangling and defrizzing, protecting the hair from heat damage and against breakage, all while making it . The leaving it soft and manageable. It comes in a convenient pump bottle, and has the consistency like a thick serum, rather than the thicker cream of many leave-ins, and it quickly and easily absorbs into the hair, leaving it soft and without any greasiness. It also leaves behind the usual nice 'Pantene scent' that you're more than likely familiar with too. This is a great budget option, and I love that it multi-tasking product.

Next is the Nfuzion Protein Treatment Spray, which contains Wheat Proteins to smooth out the cuticle and strengthen and rebuild damaged hair and add shine. But that's not all, as it also helps detangle the hair, locking in moisture, protect the hair from the sun's UV rays as well as from damage from heat styling. The Treatment Spray is a very thin liquid that you spray onto either wet or dry hair, but as it does leave the hair wet, I personally prefer to use it in wet hair only and before hair combing it to make it easier to comb out before hair drying it, and once dry, it does leave the hair nice and quite soft, clearly adding moisture to the hair without weighing it down, and frizz seemingly minimised. It has a lovely gentle fruity floral scent that unfortunately does face once the hair is dry.

Then there's the Kevin Murphy Un.Tangled Leave In Conditioner, which is a detangling, strengthening and restorative hair treatment that also protects the hair while heat styling. It contains a complex of nourishing Australian Fruit extracts add and retain moisture in the hair. This is also a wet spray, but it is also recommended to use in wet hair after washing it, and before coming it, to help detangle any knots. It has a rather unique and natural scent, no doubt from the fruit extract, and it is kind of spicy floral, and it is very unlike most other products, which is also why I like it, so I also like that this scent lingers in my hair after it is dry. I could imagine that some wouldn't like this scent, but the results you can't fault as it really does make detangling the hair quick and easy, and it leaves the hair feeling soft and smooth.

Finally there's the Pureology Pure Volume Style Infusion Hair Care, which has been designed for fine to medium-thick hair to give fullness and body to the hair, all while adding moisture and caring for colour-treated hair, protecting the against heat damage, smoothing the hair and controlling frizz for a massive 72-hours. It contains among others wheat protein to build volume, and intra-cyclane to strengthen and body the hair as well as xylose sugar to insulate the cuticle layer to protect against heat damage. It also contains camellia oil which gives it the most beautiful fresh floral scent that lingers in the hair for a while.

It is a little unique in that it contains two different formulas, in a cleverly designed tube, which has an inner tube with one of the formula. To use, you simply squeeze in the middle of the tube to ensure that some of each of the formulas are dispensed, before mixing it in your hand and applying it to damp hair before blow-drying. And after drying your hair, it still smells beautiful, and my hair is left looking and feeling so healthy and shiny, and it is so soft and smooth and without a single frizzy hair in sight.

So there you go, four different leave-in hair treatments at different, with different benefits and at different price points.

Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 BB Crème is a 10-in-1 - RRP: $10.95 / 135ml
Nfuzion Protein Treatment Spray - RRP: $18.95 / 250ml
Kevin Murphy Un.Tangled Leave In Conditioner - RRP: $38.95 / 150ml
Pureology Pure Volume Style Infusion Hair Care - RRP: $51.95 / 150ml

L'OREAL PARIS NEW HAIRCARE LAUNCHES JULY TO DECEMBER 2016

A few weeks ago I was so lucky to go to the exclusive blogger event where the new L'Oréal Paris product launches for July to December 2016 were revealed. I have already told you about the makeup launches, so here I will concentrate on the new haircare products.

First up there are three leave-in treatments, including the L'Oréal Paris Elvive Fibrology Double Serum, which is a unique dual action treatment that consists of two parts that mixes together when pumped out of the bottle, to provide complete action and care to the hair fibres.

On one side of the bottle there is the pink thickening gel, which is enriched with active ingredient Filloxane that penetrates the hair to create substance and thicken the hair fibre from within. And on the other side of the bottle, the transparent smoothing serum that softens and smooths the surface of the hair for a silky and shiny finish. This serum can be used in both wet and dry hair, and smells absolutely divine, and just a small pump or two through my hair really does leave it feeling soft and smooth and looking healthy.

The L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil-In-Cream is a leave-in hair cream that deeply nourishes the hair, containing a combination of highly concentrated oils from six precious flowers, and it has a beautiful floral scent that continues to linger in the hair for quite a while. It is quite light and absorbs quickly into the hair, instantly making it feel soft and smoothing down frizz, but without making the hair feel greasy or feel heavy. The treatment can be used in wet hair after washing it, but can also be used in dry hair to add shine, moisture to the hair and smooth down frizz. Finally, it can also be used as a treatment prior to heat styling to protect the hair from any damage, so it is truly a multi tasking product.

Finally, the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 CICA Cream, which is also a leave-in hair cream specifically designed for damaged hair. The formula contains among others cicamide which instantly absorbs into the hair fibres to help target and repair damaged hair including breakage and split ends, while also protecting the hair from environmental aggressors. This treatment comes in a small pump bottle and is very light so again, just a few pumps is all that is required to coat my long thick hair. And when applied to especially the ends, in either wet of dry hair, you can immediately both see and feel how it tames frizz and treats dry and fuzzy ends, while leaving the hair silky soft and smooth.

Next is the L'Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Mask, is a concentrated mask for very dry hair, which comes in a golden orange tub. The formula contains Nutri-Ester technology, which leaves an ultra-thin film on hair that acts as a protective top coat. It also contains rose oil to regenerate hair, lotus oil to soften, chamomile oil to soothe, tiara oil to purify, flax oil to illuminate, and sunflower oil for its antioxidant properties. This treatment can be used after shampooing in lieu of conditioner, or as the occasional treatment - but with long hair, my ends are often dry, so i do like using it after each hair wash - also because it is a fast acting treatment that only needs to be left in the hair for 2-3 minutes before being rinsed out, which makes it good when you're in a hurry too. It has a nice scent, and does leave the hair feeling deeply nourished, even my dry ends.

And finally, there's the L’Oréal Paris ELVIVE Smooth Intense Heat Protect Cream, which is a heat protection cream that works to protect the hair from heat styling tools, including hair dryers and straighteners, at up to 230°C, which I believe, is also the highest heat setting of most major heat styling tools. The Heat Protect Cream also features an anti-humidity frizz shield to leave hair smooth for up to 96 hours, as well as it continues to keep the hair deeply nourished. The cream has a floral yet slightly spicy scent, that is quite lovely, and again, continues to linger in the hair for a while.

Overall, some fantastic new releases from L'Oréal Paris, and as I've been enjoying using every single one of these, I cannot even begin to pick favourites amongst these, and I would not hesitate purchasing either of these products again.

L'Oréal Paris Elvive Fibralogy Double Serum - RRP: $9.95 / 30ml
L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil-In-Cream - RRP: $9.95 / 150ml
L’Oréal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 CICA Cream - RRP: $9.95 / 100ml
L'Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Mask - RRP: $9.95 / 300ml
L’Oréal Paris Elvive Smooth Intense Heat Protect Cream - RRP: $9.95 / 150ml

BHAVE GIVEAWAY

How is your bank account looking after Xmas? Mine is certainly looking a bit lean at the moment, and certainly didn’t help that the insurance excess of $700 just came through from when recently backed my car into a tree so the whole bumper had to be repaired, or that we have a huge obstetrician free that is due very shortly.. So I’ve purposely stayed away from the Boxing Day sales this year, as then I simply wouldn’t be tempted. Besides, we’ve probably spoilt our little boy a little too much – felt he deserved it as last year, his very first Xmas was spent at the Royal Children’s Hospital with croup, so we wanted to make sure he had a fantastic Xmas this year!

If you feel you’re in the same boat, for some reason or another, fret not – because my new giveaway will at least make sure that you can start 2015 with the healthiest hair you’ve ever had – thanks to my good friends at bhave, they would like to spoil one very lucky Beauty & Lifestyle Hunter reader with a massive haircare pack with all their best-sellers – which also happen to be my all-time favourites.

XMAS GIFT IDEA - BHAVE LIMITED EDITION CHRISTMAS GIFT PACK

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you’d know that one of my absolutely favourite haircare brands is bhave. I was introduced to the brand well over two years ago, actually not long after I started blogging, and since then I think I have trialled just about the full product range, and had a salon treatment too. And while, trust me, every single bhave product is nothing short of amazing, it is a little difficult to pick a favourite – I naturally have a couple, which is probably more because of the condition of my particular hair.

As always, bhave has released two limited edition gift sets. Both gift sets include a bhave signature vent brush and a gorgeous printed bhave tote that folds neatly into a compact purse and then either the bhave Deep Intense Conditioning Masque (see my full review here), or alternatively the bhave Leave In Creme (see my full review here).

I was kindly sent the pack with the Deep Intense Conditioning Masque. The Masque contains among others argan oil, macadamia seed oil and functional keratin, and left in the hair just 5-10 once a week, is making sure that my long thick hair is in top health all round. It simply corrects all the sins that heat styling, hair colouring and the sun’s harmful rays do to the hair, while leaving the hair not only stronger, but also feeling silky soft and looking healthy looking.

The bhave Vent Brush that is also included in the pack is absolutely amazing too. It quickly and easily helps get rid of any tangles and knots in my hair, and due to the vents, it helps cut down drying time when I use a hairdryer too. The brush has a rubber grip on the handle which makes it easy to hold too.

And then there’s the stylish tote. It has stunning print on it, and I love how it neatly folds into a purse so you can pop it in your handbag and use for emergencies, for instance you stop at the fruit shop! It certainly makes for a trendier shopping bag!

The bhave Christmas Gift Packs both retail for the amazing low price of just $42.50, which is a saving of a whopping $49 – You basically get the Vent Brush and the tote free! How cool is that. I know I’d be excited to wake to find one of these packs waiting for me under the Xmas tree!

The Gift Packs are available from select bhave salons
