PRODUCT REVIEW: BOON INC BUBBLES, PIPES AND STING RAY
There's just something about kids and playing with water, and consequently, my two little boy absolutely love their bath time, to the point they rarely want to come out of the bath again. But I personally don't mind as I can see how happy they are, and even more so that they are both old enough bath and have fun together.
And needless to say that even our big bath is always overflowing with bath toys, but luckily we still have Robert Robert in the bathroom, the adorable Boon Inc Frog Pod Bath Organiser, which keeps the bathroom tidy, and also makes it super quick and easy to tidy up all the toys when bath time is over. (You can read more about it here). But lately, they have also been having so much fun with some other bath toys from Boon Inc..
The Boon Inc Bubbles are suction cup plastic bubbles in bright colours, including lime green, turquoise and purple, and can stick onto the bath. And the kids can then stack and link the bubbles which come in various sizes, to create fun shapes and structures. Unlike other toys, these do not have holes in them, so no need to worry about water getting into them, and them consequently getting mouldy inside, a feature I really like.
Then there's the Boon Inc Pipes, which are a pack of five pipes in different shapes. And what makes these so fun, is that they have various holes in them, so you can pour water into the top, and it will go back onto the bath tub, and not onto the floor. Some of them even got little propellers in them, making it even more exciting to see the water drain out again.
The pipes such onto the bath or the wall easily, thanks to suction cups, which are so easy to remove too. They can be used individually, or also linked together as a huge chain, and again come in in fun colours, including pink, orange, white, blue and lime green.
Finally, there's the Boon Inc Boon Ray Drain Plug Cover, which is so cleverly designed that it forms a suction cover over the bath drain so no water can escape. This is so clever, that that there is no hazardous items sticking up to cover the drain, but it also have a soft cover to make it softer outer to make it better for little feet in the bath. I have to admit that, while we both have a brand new bath, which seals tightly, we have covered the base of it with a bath math to prevent especially our little one from slipping and sliding in the bath, and the bath mat does serve as cover for the bath plug too - and I have found it a shame to cover up this adorable sting ray. So in stead my boys are playing with it as an additional bath toy, and it is equally perfect for that. But if you do have issues with water slowly seeing out of your bath, then I highly recommend that you check out this cute sting ray.
Overall we are yet again more than impressed with Boon Inc. These toys are of incredible quality, and they look appealing to the kids too with their fun colours, yet looks stylish too, so mummy and daddy can't complain.
But what's even more important is that the kids love them, so much in fact, that there's been tears when its time to come out of the bath, and there's been begging to have bath too, which is such adorable, and a true testament to how good the toys are. Literally giving the kids hours and hours of fun.
And as a parent I really love that these toys help the kids develop too, both their hand-eye coordination as well as fine motor skills, and puzzle solving as they tip the water into the pipes, and stack the bubbles. These toys really are engaging and entertaining for the kids, making bath time even more fun, and challenging too as they develop their skills. So if you have a little ones who likes to have fun in the bath, we highly recommended that you check out these toys from Boon Inc.

PRODUCT REVIEW: BOON INC CAST FISHING ROD
Out two little boys absolutely love their nightly bath - and all the toys that they bring in the bath. Sometimes so many that they've hardly got room to move in the bath. Luckily they are still loving their adorable Boon Frog Pod Bath Organiser, which also makes it super quick and easy to tidy up all the toys. (You can read more about it here). But lately, they have also been having so much fun with the Boon Inc Cast Fishing Rod..
The Boon Cast Fishing Rod has a functional reel that helps children develop their hand-eye coordination as well as fine motor skills as they use the weighted hook to catch the included sea creatures. The actual hook is weighted, and you can reel it in and out, as you try to catch the octopus, fish or crab.
If I have to be negative, it is that water does go inside the actual fishing rod, so you have to make sure that you reel it out and leave it upside down to drain after each use, to make sure that it doesn't get mouldy on the inside.
The whole thing (apart from the strong) is made of bright and colourful high quality plastic, and my boys absolutely love it. It is making bath time so much fun, and challenging too as they develop their skills.
If you have a little ones who likes to have fun in the bath, this fishing rod is highly recommended.
Boon Inc Cast Fishing Rod - RRP: $14.95

These Vtech Toot-Toot Splash Sailboats, Tugboats, Speed Boats, Clown Fish, Sea Lion and Crabs are so adorable, each with lots of different music, sing-along songs, phrases and sounds which is activated by pushing the light-up button which is also the windscreen or face. VTECH SAFARI SOUNDS PIANO
My boys absolutely love music, and when a good song comes on the radio, they love to dance, but they also love being able to clown around and play their own music, and both of our boys (1.5 and 3.5yo), are so excited about this Vtech Safari Sounds Piano.
The piano is shaped like the cutest zebra, and it features an animal band and you can compose your own songs, and even choose an instrument. The piano teaches little ones to play at their own pace by lighting up the buttons, and they can sing alone or sing along with the Zebra and friends to one of 13 songs or 8 melodies, or they can use the voice-amplifying microphone.
It also has a very cool scratch disk, whammy effect tail, and kids can also use one of the tree switches to adjust the tempo, and volume and turn on the microphone to make everything even more fun and interactive. The piano also features four instrument modes, so you can choose between piano, violin, xylophone or saxophone.
All in all this piano features more than 100 songs, melodies, sounds and phrases, so kids won't get tired of it in a hurry (and neither with parents as there are no repetitive sounds and songs)
This Safari Sounds Piano is intended for the 2-5 year olds, and it is so cool and will give your little one fun hours after hours, and I really love that a being able to sing, create music and dance will help introduce them to a variety of instrument and sounds, while also helping music creativity and creative and imaginative play as they create their own music and sing into the microphone like a real musician.

XMAS GIFT IDEAS FROM TOMMEE TIPPEE
If you have a little one, I'm sure you've heard of Tommee Tippee. I certainly have, and my boys both used their bottles when they were newborn, and now a tad older, also their brilliant drink bottles. But today I've got a couple of great gift ideas perfect for a newborn and/or his or her parents…
Let's start with the clever Tommee Tippee Mini Moments Cards, although these are unfortunately just promotional cards, and not available for purchase - but I really love them, so thought that I'd share anyway - and then maybe Tommee Tippee would eventually make them widely available.
Unfortunately my boys are both too old now for us to really make full use of these cards, but I so wish I'd had them when they were just born, as they are just adorable, and such a brilliant way of encouraging you to take pictures of not only 'first', but also highs and lows, which you can look back on in the years to come. There are lots of different cards, which cover up to the 1st birthday. The cards have cute illustrations of animals on the one side for all the highs, such as today I am 1 week old, 2 weeks old, 1 month old, etc, as well as 'I Slept Through The Night' , "Today I Learned to Crawl' or "Today I Stood Up. On the other side of the cards, there are writings about some of the lows any parent will also experience, but written in a humours way, such as 'Today I Threw Up on Mum', 'Last Night I Pulled An All Nighter', 'Today I Drove my Mum to Drink" or Today I did an Explosive Nappy. These cards are so cute and funny, and really a must have, so please Tommee Tippee start selling these pronto, and you'll be loved by more parents than you'd thought possible.
Or there's the adorable Tommee Tippee Hugs 'n' Cuddles teddies. Both our little boys have had a little blue puppy from they were very little, and they love that they are so soft and cuddly, and that they have a little rattle inside. If your little one sleeps with a teddy, this would be a good one, as it is so small that it doesn't take up all of their small bed, yet still safe, with no parts (including eyes that can come lose). The small size also makes it perfect when you're on the go.
Finally, there's these Tommee Tippee Weaning Straw Cups, which have a soft silicone that is helping them to learn drinking from a cup, while still being gentle on the mouth and gums. The BPA free cup has handles on either side, which can however be removed as bub grows, and the curved sides of the bottle makes it easier for little hands to grip. The straw on the bottle also flips down to prevent spills when you're out and about. And what I really like is that it has a valve that is a lot easier to clean, so there is no risk of bacteria building up.
Tommee Tippee Hugs 'n' Cuddles teddy - RRP: $7.00
Tommee Tippee Weaning Straw Cup - RRP: $11.99
Available from Coles, Woolworths, Variety Stores, and select baby stores and chemists

to Kmart. The variety shop has seriously lifted its game the past year in
particular, and gone above and beyond what you’d expect, and they always the
latest on trend products within home wares and fashion, and a huge toy

already know that their prices are always super low!
Kmart Southgate Shopping Centre, Sylvania, NSW, like many other Kmart stores are now open 24hours to give you more time to get ready for the festive season - but make sure to head to the Kmart Sylvania store today the 15th December to enter their $1000 toy dash challenge. Three kids will get the chance to dash through the isles and grabbing as many toys as they possibly can in 90 seconds, up to the value of $100. Just imagine... wouldn't that just be every child's dream, so make sure to check it out.
What would your kids get? I'm pretty sure my big boy would head straight towards the Lego, Octonauts, Cars and Planes and Buzz Lightyear isles, while the little one would probably stop at the first toy he saw, and not move!!

Unfortunately the Sylvania Kmart store is a bit
far away from the Melbournian suburb where I live, but I did visit my local
store and stocked up on various toys for our boys over the weekend - and I have
also been set a $50 decorating challenge by Kmart which I will show you all shortly.

PRODUCT REVIEW: TELETUBBIES MUSIC DAY PLAYSET
I've said it before, but again I have to be honest admit that I am no Teletubbies fan. However, my 1.5year old seems to be drawn to them whenever they’re on TV, and loves his Teletubbies Phone which continues to amuse him on long -drives to and from hospital checkups, as well as he enjoys snuggling with his red Po (you can read about it here) . So needless to say that he also got excited when he was asked to put the Teletubbies Music Day Playset to the test.
This Teletubbies Music Day joins yellow Laa-Laa on a melodic adventure. The electronic Music Day Playset features Laa-Laa's favourite things - music and singing, and it comes with musical drums, a piano, and a podium. And if you press any of these buttons, you'll hear Teletubbies music and sound effects.
The playset comes with an exclusive Laa-Laa figure with a trumpet, but you can also purchase the other Teletubbies individually to add to the set.
My little boy loves that he can place Laa-Laa on various spots on the playset including on the stage, and finds that it is fun pushing the different buttons with either his little fingers or by pressing the Laa-Laa figurine.
The Teletubies Music Playset and the Laa-Laa are of sturdy design, and it is compact, so it is also easy to take with you when you're out and about and want your child entertained.
If you little one is into the Teletubbies too, then they're sure to love this Playset, and it would make for a great Xmas pressie too, for both little boys and girls.
Teletubbies Music Day Playset - RRP: $39.99
Available from Big W, Kmart, Kids Stuff, Toyworld, Mr Toys, Target and Myer

PRODUCT REVIEW: VTECH TOOT-TOOT DRIVERS
Xmas is expensive, and when you have kids even more. Not just because you need and want to give your own kids some nice presents, but because they are likely to be invited to Xmas parties or be participating in Kris Kringle in their daycare, so you'll also need to be buying additional pressies. And finding something that is not only a good quality, but at a reasonable price too, can be difficult. Luckily Vtech has the boys (and perhaps some girls too!?) covered with their range of Toot Drivers.
These small electronic cars are so adorable, and as they are small, they are the perfect size for small hands. There's a whole heap of different to chose from, including Car, Police Car, Fire Engine, Helicopter, Quad Bike, Dumper Truck, Taxi, Off-Roader and Bus - and regardless of which one you pick, they all flash and respond with music and sounds when driven across the Vtech SmartPoint Playsets. And when you push the actual cars, they all have different sounds and cute little phrases, such as 'I'm a Little Truck, Let's make a delivery", or "I'm a useful ambulance", or "I'm a brave police car".
And to make sure your child (or you!!) won't get tired from the same songs and sounds playing over and over again, each vehicle has three different sing-along songs, 6 melodies and lots of little phrases and sounds which are activated when you push the windscreen buttons. And as a parent I love that they all have an on-off button underneath - which is needed, as it only takes a tiny bump in a toy basket or they will start playing, so it is necessary to turn them off when they are not being played with.
All of this helps teach your little one about sounds and singing, while they develop language, motor skills and imaginative role-play.
The Toot-Toot Vehicles are intended for kids aged between 1 and 5 years, and I can say that both my boys aged, 3.5 years and 1.5 years both are having so much fun playing with them.
I love that they are having so much fun with these, and they are so well priced too, that they would make for the perfect Xmas pressie for little friends.
Vtech Toot-Toot Drivers - RRP: $11.95 each
Available from department stores, some variety stores and major toy retailers

All of this helps teach your little one about sounds and singing, while they develop language, motor skills and imaginative role-play.
The Toot-Toot Vehicles are intended for kids aged between 1 and 5 years, and I can say that both my boys aged, 3.5 years and 1.5 years both are having so much fun playing with them.
I love that they are having so much fun with these, and they are so well priced too, that they would make for the perfect Xmas pressie for little friends.
Vtech Toot-Toot Drivers - RRP: $11.95 each

PRODUCT REVIEW: BRIO FIRE STATION 33833 FROM CHILDSMART
It is once again time to call upon my 3 year old boy to assist with a toy feature, which today is about the Brio Fire Station from Childsmart. A little while ago we featured the Brio Airplane Boarding Set (read about it here), and also the Brio Train Station (which you can read about here) - and common for both, is that my boy absolutely loves playing with these Brio toys, so he was naturally very excited when the Fire Station was added to his growing Brio collection. And not least because he, like most other boys at that age, is absolutely fascinated by fireman and police. So here are our thoughts on the Brio Fire Station from Child Smart. The fire station has two stories, and comes with a slide for the firemen to use when the alarm goes off. It also comes with a fire truck as well as a trailer that attaches and carries the retractable fire hose, ladder and all the gear needed by the firemen when fighting a fire. In addition it also come with two firemen (a man and a woman!!), a chainsaw, a (plastic) fire, and two suitcases with electrical cords, to make play even more imaginative. And it also comes with a ramp so the fire truck can park under the fire station, along with a train track so the whole place can attach to an existing Brio train set.
The fire truck has sounds and sirens that are activated when pushing a tiny button on the top of the truck, but although the button is tiny, it is so simple for tiny fingers, and our 17 month old quickly worked it out too. I also love that the roof of the fire truck lifts up, so that it is easier for small hands to put the fire man into the truck.
The first floor of the fire station features a rest area for the fire men, while the roof serves as a helipad for a helicopter (which can be purchased separately).
his Fire Station is intended for kids aged 3+, and our little boy, aged almost 3.5 years, is having so much fun role-playing with it, and incorporated into existing Brio playsets, and his imagination quickly went on overdrive with the forest trees were on fire and the firemen coming to assistance and having to cut down the trees with the chainsaw, or them having to rush to help a woman trapped on top of the train station roof, climbing up and down the ladder on top of the firetruck!
As with all other Brio toys, the quality is fantastic and unlike other plastic toys, I am not for one second concerned that it will break during my boy's occasional rough play, or if it is dropped on the floor by accident.
This Fire Station has been a massive hit with my boy, and it keeps him entertained and interested as he keeps going back to playing with it again and again throughout the day, so highly recommended if you have a little boy as obsessed with firemen.

PRODUCT REVIEW: TELETUBBIES PHONE AND PLUSH
I admit it, I am not a huge fan of the Teletubbies. I find them a little silly - but they've made a comeback to kids TV and there's no denying that my little boy loves the bubbly characters, including Tinky Winky, Laa-Laa, Po and Dipsy.
In the lead up to Xmas new Teletubbies toys hit the stores, so your kids can bring the cute characters to live by replaying favourite scenes from the TV Show or simply by snuggling up with the plush Teletubbies.
Needless to say that my little 17 month old is obsessed remote controls and mobile phones, and the moment he got his very own cool orange Teletubbies Phone he was so excited. The phone has buttons so you can call the four teletubbies, and hear them giggle, chat and sing. And if you leave the phone untouched for a few moments, the Teletubbies will actually call you!! The phone features a mirror, and my little boy does love looking at himself, but when you turn the phone on, the teletubbies appear in the mirror. So cool. We spend long hours driving to and from the hospital for our boys frequent checkup, and as he is getting older, he is obviously starting to be a bit bored in the car - but with this phone, he has so much fun. A must have for little ones!
But he also loves to snuggle up to the little red Teletubbies Plush, Po, who is cute an cuddly. To be honest, I had not expected our little boy to be this fond of the plush, but he often seeks him out amongst all his toys and carry him around, so yet again a sure hit.
So it goes to show, that although Mummy or Daddy don't particularly enjoy one particular kids program or character, doesn't mean that the same goes for your kids - and to be honest, I am just pleased that they are able to form their own opinions.
There are also heaps of other Teletubbies toys available from the new range, including of course plush toys of the other characters as well, but also talking plush toys, a large musical lullaby Laa-Laa and various other playsets and collectible figures.
Teletubbies Phone - RRP: $29.95
Teletubbies Plush - RRP: $17.95

PRODUCT REVIEW: FLIPAZOO ANIMAL PILLOW
Today I get the help of our 17 month boy to put the adorable animal pillow from FlipaZoo to the test. FlipaZoo is not just an animal pillow, it is actually two, as you can flip the cover on the back of the animal back and forth so you get two different characters.
Essentially the FlipaZoo has a head in each end, and as you flip the cover it turns into one animal covering the head in the other end and so forth. It is so cute and adorable, and as there six different versions available (which really makes it 12 different animals, it will be hard to pick between;
Our little boy has been loving snuggling up to the Husky to Polar Bear it is so adorable, soft and huggable. Personally I prefer the all white polar bear, which is also named Poppi, while it is very clear that our little boy prefers the slighly softer and shaggier Husky, named Asher.
The FlipaZoo is supposed to be for all ages, and I do like that flipping the characters over is so quick and easy, our little boy can even do it himself!! If I have to be negative, I would have preferred if it had stitched eyes, as opposed to the glued on ones, which can pose a choking hazard for the very little ones if they should manage to pull them off.
That said, while our little boy again loves cuddling and snuggling the animals, personally I wouldn't let him play with it unsupervised, or let him sleep with it, that would be better for older kids who are not prone to putting things in their mouths.
The 'teddy' is rather large, measuring 40cm in length, and it is made from soft high quality plush. I also love that it can be easily washed if needed.
Only problem is that all the characters are so adorable, that picking one is the had task - and going by how much our little boy loves the polar bear and the husky, we might just have to give him an additional friend or two (or should I say four!!)

PRODUCT REVIEW: BOON INC FROG POD BATH ORGANISER
With two little boys, who are luckily now so old they can share their bath in the evening, - and prefer doing so needless to say that the amount bath toys is increasing by the day. I don't really mind, they are having fun, but tidying up is another story! Enter the adorable Boon Frog Pod Bath Organiser...
This adorable frog has a wall-mountable base that attaches to the wall (or as we've done it, to the bath), and it can easily be removed again without damaging the wall or bath. And it has a large removable scoop which makes it super fast and easy to collect all the toy - my boys now loves to help tidy up after their bath. And because it is huge, it holds so many toys, so it stores everything.
And what is so unique about this frog, apart from it being so cute and looking cool in the kids bathroom too with its bright lime green shade, - is that it has holes in the scoop that allows water and bath bubbles to easily drain out, as well as it allows the toys to air dry naturally - which essentially helps reduce the chance of mold and mildew build-up in the bath toys.
The frog is made from BPA and PVC and is phthalate free, and again is easy to remove to clean. It is rather large - 31cm wide x 44 cm high x 19cm deep, so it does take up some room - and if you attach it to the bath, like we have, it does require a larger bath, especially if you like us, have two kiddies in the bath. But it is all worth it, and it not only makes tidying up quick and easy, makes a place to store all the toys for a more clutter free bathroom, keep the toys clean and healthier for longer - it is also an additional toy in the bath that the kids have so much fun with. WIN-Win - or should I say 'ribbit'!!
Boon Inc Frog Pod Bath Organiser - RRP: $59.95
Available from Toys r Us, Baby Bunting and select other baby and toy stores

PRODUCT REWVIEW: TOMY LAMAZE TWIST AND TURN HATCHLINGS
Today I enlist the assistance of our little boy again, this time to test out the Lamaze Twist & Turn Hatchlings...
The Lamaze Twist & Turn Hatchlings is a toddler toy suitable from approx. 6 months, and it features a strong suction cup that means that it can be attached to any surface, from the table, floor, stroller tray or the high chair, for instant fun.
The Lamaze Twist & Turn Hatchlings is like a little spinning carousel featuring four cute different bright coloured hatchlings with different textures, that each spin individually as well as they make rattling noises. The hatchlings also have different coloured shells and soft flappy ears and they are easy for little hands to grab hold of and spin. It also features some smaller rings in between the hatchlings, and a larger ring at the bottom of the toy, which can also be twisted, and makes a clicking noise.
This all in all helps with making the baby listen out for the rattling and clicking noises to awaken auditory awareness, and also helps make the baby make the connection between sight, touch and sound. The bright and bold colours help stimulate vision, while the moving of the carousel and hatchlings and the smaller rings on the carousel help encourage the baby to grasp and turn the toy, thus helping to refine motor skills.
I really like that I can attach this toy safely to any surface, and quickly and easily remove it again - and that, as yet, my little boy hasn't quite worked out how to do this yet - which is a nice change from all the other toys which often are thrown off his highchair table within seconds of him getting them. The toy is also very lightweight, so it is perfect to pop in the bag if you're going out to cafe's and restaurants.
Having the toy 'permanently' there helps keep him entertained, if I for instance put him in the highchair if I'm in the kitchen cooking, and cannot chase him around the floor.
And my little boy loves 'fiddling' with the hatchlings, their little ears, and the little rings between the hatchlings, so definitely a toy we'd recommend. And as it is a of high quality, it is also very well priced at just $20.
Lamaze Twist & Turn Hatchlings - RRP: $20
Available from all major toy retailers

PRODUCT REVIEW: VTECH TOOT-TOOT DRIVERS LIFT AND REPAIR SHOP AND TOOT-TOOT VEHICLE
Today I am enlisting the help of our older boy for yet another toy review, this one the Toot-Toot Drivers Lift and Fix Repair Shop as well as the Toot-Toot Tractor both from VTech.
This toy has built-in SmartPoints, 5 in total to be exact, and when you roll over the hot rod, or any other Toot-Toot car for that matter, such as the Tractor, which can be purchased and added individually, you will hear different phrases, music or fun sounds effects. And when you push the light-op button (the windscreen) of the cars, they say their names, (in this case Hot Rod or Tractor), and sings three different and catchy sing-along songs and make lots of fun sounds.
Combined, these 5 SmartPoints have more than 40 different sounds, melodies, sound and phrases, so your kids (or you!!), won't tire of repetitive songs too quickly.
The car lift on the repair shop raises up to the second level and you can see the car spin around, which all helps teach motor skills - but kids can also role play further by leaving the car at the ground level and pretend to repair the car with the included wrench and spare tyre, paint the car, or fill it up with petrol. To make this even more fun, the garage door also flips open, so cars can drive in and out, and both the spray paint nozzle and the petrol pump nozzles moves up and down and around to making it more realistic too.

The Repair Shop and the vehicles have following developmental benefits;
- Motor Skills through lifting the ramp, moving the gas pump and pretending to repair vehicles
- Language development by hearing the vehicles respond to the SmartPoint locations with phrases that encourage first words and early vocabulary.
- Imaginative play by pretending to repair, paint and fill the vehicle with gas to enhance the imaginative play experience.
The Vtech Toot-Toot Lift & Fix Repair Shop and the Toot-Toot vehicles are intended for kids aged 1-5, and our 3 year old is having so much fun role playing with the set, repairing the cars, putting petrol on it, and also pretending to wash cars. He also really likes driving the cars down the ramp and seeing them take off down our hall way, something that also gives our youngest boy great joy. The little one also enjoys playing with the set, but not yet at the point of being able to role play, but really enjoys playing with the little cars, pushing them down the ramp and placing them in the garage.
This Repair Shop does take a little bit to put together as you also have to add all the stickers, and our boy was a little frustrated with the wait (and wanted to help, which wasn't particularly helpful!), so if you're giving this away as a present, I would recommend that put it together first, to save any frustration and tears.
But overall I am yet again impressed with these toys from Vtech - they give kids hours and hours of fun, and because of how they are made, they will grow with the child as they become older and even more into role play. As a parent, I love that it is a quality toy, and that thought has been put into the toys to encourage development of important skills. I also love that you can purchase the little cars individually and even add and attach other Toot-Toot playsets, to create a whole city of roads/tracks and other sets such as airport, police and fire stations. The playset is also lightweight so easy to take with you when you go ie. to friends places, and of course the little vehicles even easier, and perfect when you want your kids to be entertained when you want relax at a café or even in the car. Big tick of approval from my boys and myself!
