BEAUTY SPECIALS: WELEDA POMEGRANATE FIRMING DAY AND NIGHT CREAM

I think we all love a great beauty bargain, so I thought that I’d share with you a fantastic special from Weleda that’s running this July only.

If you purchase a Weleda Pomegranate Firming Day Cream, you get a Pomegranate Firming Night Cream absolutely free. How good is that! I got the opportunity to trial these creams, so here are my thoughts:

What They Say:

Weleda Pomegranate Firming Facial Care is formulated for mature skin. Pomegranate seed oil contains plenty of antioxidants and protects the skin from free radicals. Along with macadamia nut oil and argan oil, it improves the skin’s own protective barrier and wrinkles and fine lines become noticeably less visible.

Weleda Pomegranate Firming Day Cream is an extra nourishing and protective day cream, with pomegranate seed oil to improve the skin’s firmness and elasticity. The skin receives intensive hydration throughout the day and its natural cell renewal is stimulated, making the skin more even, smoother and clearer. Excellent for use below make-up and is rapidly absorbed by the skin.

RRP:

Pomegranate Firming Day Cream (30ml): $41.95
Pomegranate Firming Night Cream (30ml): $41.95
 - But if you during July purchase the Pomegranate Firming Night Cream, you get the matching Night Cream free – a saving of $41.95!

Available from – Available from Weleda Online or from select retailers

What I Say:

These products are designed for mature skin aged forty plus, and as I sadly fit into that category, they are a perfect match for my skin, especially seeing the creams are rich in protective antioxidants, which stimulates cell renewal and creates firmer, smoother skin – just what my skin needs!

The Pomegranate Firming Creams contains organically grown pomegranate seed oil, which is known for reducing wrinkles, tautening the skin and reactivating regeneration. They help reduce wrinkles, protect the cells with natural antioxidants, aiding cell renewal and improving elasticity.

The creams have a gorgeous delicate fruity scent that you can only fall in love with.

The Day cream is quite light, yet still very moisturising – and hence perfect for my skin right now during winter when it generally is a bit drier, but I could imagine that it would be too rich for my skin during summer when my skin tends to get a little greasier.

The Night Cream, as you would expect, is thicker in consistency, and very concentrated so I only need to use the smallest amount to cover my full face, neck and décolleté. It does take a moment to absorb into the skin, and does feel a little tacky on the skin, but as I’m heading to bed, I don’t care. What matters is how my skin feels in the morning. And I wake to soft skin, that doesn’t feel greasy or drowned in moisture.

Because both creams are so intensely moisturising they leave my skin not only thoroughly hydrated, but also leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, and fine lines seems to be less noticeable.

Both creams come in small metallic tubes with pink and red tones, making them look very girly. And I love that the creams are made from certified organic ingredients and formulated without synthetic preservatives, fragrances and colourants and that they are free from mineral oil derivatives.

My only negative is that there is no SPF in the day cream, which is a must when you live under the harsh Australian sun – however, I have a feeling that SPF in some creams are guilty of making my skin breakout, so on the other hand, I kind of don’t mind that it doesn’t contain it, as then I can use another SPF on top that I know agrees with my skin. And on the cold and wet winter days where I know I will not be going outside – which sadly has been a bit lately – then a cream without the SPF is just fine.

Yet again Weleda has managed to impress me, as overall these are really lovely creams, and my skin is clearly enjoying the extra moisture as it looks healthy and glowing, and not dry and flaky as it often can during winter. And add to that the gorgeous, fresh fruity scent from the pomegranate, which is just divine.

  1. I recently bought a pack from iHerb with sample sizes of four of their different scented body lotions and I'm really impressed! I'll be buying the full sized version in the near future for sure. Also love their 'skin food' for rough areas like elbows.

    1. I've heard of the skin food, but not yet tried, although from memory I do have a small sample floating around somewhere! I also love the body lotions, have recently tried the pomegranate one, which is fantastic.
