Product Review: Jojoba Company Jojoba Bead Facial Cleanser

With combination skin prone to breakouts, I rely on a good facial cleanser to keep my skin clean and free from breakouts. Here are my thoughts on the Jojoba Company Jojoba Bead Facial Cleanser;

What They Say:
"A deep penetrating balanced cleanser enriched with jojoba beads that release intensely nourishing esters and gently exfoliate. Vitamin C rich quandong, aloe vera and Vitamin E deeply cleanse without stripping skin of its natural oils. Jojoba’s natural cleansing and moisturising properties leave the skin clean, soft and luxuriously hydrated. 98% natural."

RRP: $34.95 (125ml) – Available from Priceline and select pharmacies and health stores

What I Say:
I love the fact that the products from the Jojoba Company are natural and free from chemical nasties, which means that the products do not contain parabens, sulphates, silicones, petrochemicals, phthalates, mineral oil, harmful chemicals or detergents, paraffin, DEA, artificial fragrances or colours! Of course they are not tested on animals either. In fact, Jojoba Bead Facial Cleanser is 98% natural, with the remaining 2% of the ingredients being necessary preservatives to ensure that the product can last for a decent amount of time. All sounds pretty good to me!

Some of the key ingredients in the Jojoba Bead Facial Cleanser are pure Australian Jojoba, which is rich in antioxidant and Vitamins including A, D & E. It also contains Witch Hazel for its calming and toning properties, Quandong, which is high in nourishing Vitamin C, as well as melon, a natural AHA which is helping to exfoliate the skin.

The cleanser has just the right amount of beads give the skin a nice exfoliating. Not too much and not too little. The exfoliating beads gently buff away the dead skin cells on the surface, while the AHA helps clean out the impurities and excess sebum from the pores. It is very gentle, so it can be used daily. Sometimes gentle and daily exfoliators are so gentle that you can hardly feel you’ve used them, but that is not the case with the Jojoba Bead Facial Cleanser, as after use it leaves my skin exceptionally soft and smooth, which I would say is due to also containing shea butter. There is absolutely no stripping my skin of its natural oils.

And it is such a refreshing change not to have an artificially scented product – this cleanser has a natural and very scent, no doubt coming from the essential oils used in the cleanser, which includes Ylang Ylang, Rosa Damascena, Cedarwood Bark and melon and papaya.

The cleanser is very concentrated, and just a small amount is needed, I use less than a teaspoon full each time, so the tube will last you forever.

The cleanser comes in a simple yet gorgeous red tube with a flip lid, which is easy to use. The red colour of the tube is so bright and unique, and I love how it makes a statement in the bathroom, and the bright colour makes it so easy to find in a chockfull bathroom cabinet. I also like that it has been designed to stand on its lid so the product drops down as you use it, and you can use up every last bit in the tube.

What I Like:
  • It contains 98% natural ingredients
  • It has a lovely natural scent
  • It is so gentle, yet so effective, without stripping my skin of its natural oils

What I Don’t Like:
  • Some may think this is a little pricey, but personally I find it reasonably priced for a natural and so effective product.

Overall, this is a fantastic cleanser, and I love that it is so natural so I don’t overload my skin with unnecessary chemicals. And as it is so gentle, it would be suitable for all skin types, including very sensitive ones. At $34.95 for 125ml, it is not the cheapest cleaner, but as it is truly is amazing, and doesn’t contain any chemical nasties, it is absolutely worth it. I can highly recommend!

Have you ever tried any of the products from the Jojoba Company? Are you concerned with the chemicals used in most skincare products? Which exfoliating cleanser is your favourite?

    1. Yes, it has a very nice scent - and I am the same, if I don't like the scent, I generally don't like the product, no matter how good it is!
