PRODUCT REVIEW: BHAVE - FOR THE HEALTHIEST HAIR EVER

With any beauty products, it is very rare for me to say that certain products are my ultimate favourites, simply as there are so many great products out there - but one brand has managed to woo me again and again, and I can thereby safely say that it is my favourite, most trusted holy grail brand - the brand is bhave, so let's talk a little about their incredible products..

I have talked about bhave countless of times, yes, as a beauty blogger I am very fortunate to get to try a lot of different products, but once a trial period is completed, more often than not, do I return to my beloved bhave products. If you missed them, you easily find all my previous features and reviews of all their products via my product directory.

In case you’ve never heard bhave brand before, I can tell you that it is an Australian brand and all their products are free from parabens, sulphates and sodium chloride.
Let's start with the bhave Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner (you can see my full review here), which claims to be able to nurse traumatised hair back to good health with regular due to the products containing the functional keratin technology that has the unique ability to penetrate the hair shaft and repair damage, rebuilding each hair strand from the inside out. And as well as repairing and restoring existing damage, bhave also claims that regular use will form a protective shield around the hair strands providing it with around the clock defence against damage.

I have quite long and thick coloured hair, and when I use this combo, I can immediately tell the difference in both the feel and look of my hair. My hair simply looks and feels so much softer and shinier, and my otherwise dry and slightly damaged ends, seems to be less damaged, and consequently flyaways and frizz also seems to be tamed, so my hair overall looks healthier. These products are at the higher price end for shampoos and conditioners, but truly believe that they help keep my hair in better health, so I essentially can stretch my hair appointments as my hair is so well cared for.

Then there's the bhave Leave-In Creme (you can see my full review here), which a treatment to be used in damp hair after washing it. It contains among others macadamia nut, jojoba and argan oil to help soften, nourish and moisturise the hair, along with functional bioactive keratin and peptides to restore the hair's elasticity and protect the hair from breaking, while also helping to tame the hair and control frizzy and fly-away hair and give it thermal protection during heat styling. The Leave-In treatment is quite thick, and you only need a little, and you do have to be cautious not to use too much, so take it slow. But it leaves the hair seriously softer, smoother and stronger, and thereby healthier too. And in spite of the richness of this leave-in, it doesn't weigh down the hair (unless you use too much), but rather, actually gives my limp hair more volume. It has a lovely subtle coconut scent.

Next up is the bhave Riot Control Oil (see my full review here), which contains Certified organic Argan Oil that is jam-packed with antioxidants that help strengthen and nourish the hair. The light and non-greasy oil helps keep the hair soft, and it also helps smooth down frizz and flyaways, all while adding a beautiful healthy shine to the hair. It can be used in both wet hair before heat styling, as well as after for a glossy finish. I personally like to use it in my dry hair, after heat styling, and on the days where I am not washing my hair, to give my hair a moisture boost, and to help smooth down any frizz and give it some shine. Again, you'll need the smallest amount as it is so concentrated, and using too much will leave your hair looking greasy. It comes in a cool silver pump bottle that not only looks very luxe, but also is very easy to use.

Then there's the bhave Fresh Ends (see my full review here) is a leave-in cream that has been specifically designed for distressed and damaged ends. It is best used in dry hair, although if needed, it can also be used on towel-dried hair. Personally I like to use the Leave-In creme as above in my towel-dried hair, and once my hair is styled and dry, use this in the ends, as well as on the days where a not washing my hair. The formula contains raw natural keratin and slow releasing peptides as well as certified organic argan oil to that helps to continuously repair hair damage and strengthen the elasticity of the hair, and it leaves the hair silky soft and smooth. It also helps to control flyaway hairs, while treating split ends, all while making the hair look so healthy. The Fresh Ends comes in a nifty and easy to use push-top jar, that dispenses the treatment from the top, which I find super cool.

The bhave Super Nova Leave In Elixir (see my full review here), is one of the latest additions to the bhave range, and as the name suggests, it is a true 'super' hero as it is such a multi-tasking product. It helps treat a multitude of hair issues from detangling and adding moisture to the hair, fights frizz and smooths the hair, repairs and strengths brittle, damaged locks and split ends, thicken thinning hair and promote new growth, balance the scalp, protect the hair colour from fading due to UV rays, - and of course, leaves the hair looking soft, healthy and shiny.

The light treatment spray is to be used in towel dried hair, and gets all its super powers from among others sunflower seed oil, aloe vera and other fruit and flower extracts. It comes in a super stylish shiny silver bottle, and it smells amazing too. This is seriously super amazing!!

Finally, there's the newest product launch, the bhave Curl Defining Creme. My hair has always been super straight, to the point that I only ever straightened it to smooth down frizz, but since my last pregnancy, my hair has decided that it wants to go curly in the back, which looks rather odd seeing the front parts of my hair is still straight. While I have always liked my straight hair, I also remember wanting some more volume, and now that I have more, I am not enjoying it as especially on the days where I do not wash my hair, it is clearly looking drier and frizzier than ever before. Enter the bhave Curl Defining Creme. This treatment is best used in damp hair and it contains among others sunflower seed oil, murumuru seed butter and carnuba wax, to add extra moisture and seals it into the hair to define curls and help restore elasticity and smoothness, and reduce frizz while also developing new hair grown and prevent the hair from becoming dry and brittle. This treatment has made such a difference to my hair, making my hair so much more manageable especially on the days where I wash it, as it leaves my hair is even curlier as I can now 'tease' it up so much more. And on even on the days where I don't wash it, it is clearly 'retaining' the moisture, and using just a few pumps of Riot Control is now sufficient to banishing the frizz again and make it look shiny and healthy again.

So there you have it, some of my ultimate haircare products from bhave - these products are seriously amazing, and will without a doubt do wonders for your hair too, so do yourself the favour and try them out, you won't regret it. You can thank me later!!

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS - PERSONAL CARE

Just a few more days to go now, so In the next and final instalment of my father's day gift ideas, today it is all about personal care items...

First up there's the Milkman Grooming Co Spring Rider After Shave Serum, which is a fragranced After Shave Serum that combines a daily moisturiser to hydrate, protect and nourish with an alcohol-free after shave to soothe, tighten and tone the skin. It contains among others witch hazel, aloe vera and allantoin, along with high-end moisturisers and anti-oxidants you would usually expect to see in a much more expensive day creams including hyaluronic acid, kakadu plum extract, beta glucan plus vitamins E and B5, and I love the fact that its made with out any chemical nasties such as parabens and sulphates, silicones, mineral oils or artificial colours. And its made with love in Australia.

The fragrance is a unique Spring edition, and is particularly scented to be relevant to spring, combining masculine notes of leather and musk, with the light floral scents so typical of spring.

Milkman Grooming Co plans on launching further seasonal fragrances throughout this year to coincide with Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Spring Rider leaves my hubby's skin feeling soft and smooth following his daily shave, and leaves it smelling fresh and masculine without irritating or drying out his sensitive skin.

My hubby never ever leaves the house without doing his hair, so for him, quality hair care products such as these from MUK are brilliant choices too. I love the fact that MUK is a professional haircare brand that is local from Melbourne, Australia, and the products really are top notch. The styling range includes several different styling pastes, each different brightly coloured packaging, and each with the most gorgeous fruity scent. The MUK Raw MUK Styling Mud is a paste that gives the hair firm hold and with a nice gloss, that makes the hair look shiny, glossy and healthy. It has the most divine mango fragrance. Or there's the MUK Hard MUK Styling Mud, which gives the hair a brutal but flexible hold with a low sheen finish, and it has a beautiful fresh citrus orange scent. My husband particularly loves the Raw MUK as it makes his short hair stay put all day. And then there's our two little boys, aged 2 and 4, like their daddy, they insist on getting their hair done when we go out, but can never leave it alone, so the Hard MUK is perfect for their fine blonde hair, as gives a flexible hold so you can continue to re-style their hair throughout the day But regardless of which one you pick, they make styling the hair so easy and makes it look great all day without flaking and even surviving high humidity, all while making the hair look stylish and healthy.

For the skin, there's also the Ella Bache Men's Anti Fatique Espresso Detox Scrub, which is specifically designed for tired lack-lustre male skin. The detoxifying scrub contains among others bamboo fibres to give the skin a gentle exfoliation to smooth away rough dry skin. It also contains barley seedling extract to add proteins, enzymes, vitamins, minerals and phyto-nutrients to the skin to improve the metabolism, along with ginseng and guarana and green coffee to stimulate and improve micro-circulation and erase the signs of tiredness. The scrub has a slightly spicy and masculine scent, and it doesn't feel particularly gritty, but hubby happily says that leaves his skin feeling very soft and smooth, and with a refreshing glow, with the coffee clearly giving his skin a much needed wake-up call in the morning.

And Daddy is sure to love a handwritten personal card, such as one of the humorous greeting card from the Hallmark Shoebox collection. There are heaps of different cards to chose from, from naughty, witty, crude to pure daggy daddy cards, so there 's something for everyone and for every sense of humour too.

PRODUCT REVIEW: JOHN FRIEDA FRIZZ EASE

Today I'm going to talk about the newly formatted and designed products from the John Frieda Frizz Ease range..

The John Frieda Frizz Ease range has been designed to help combat frizz to make women create the hairstyle they desire from curly to wavy, sleek and straight. There are many different reasons why hair becomes frizzy, and causes can range from humidity, rain, heat styling and hair colouring, but the John Frieda have thought about it all, with specific products for every concern, and today I'm going to talk about some of these products..

The John Frieda Frizz Ease® Miraculous Recovery® Shampoo and Conditioner have targeted Anti-Damage Technology that helps moisture and nourish the hair while repairing split ends and surface damage, in fact, it promises to reverse 75% of the surface damage on your hair, while also building a resilience to frizz over time for hair that is 3x smoother. The products have a gorgeous subtle warm fragrance that just gorgeous. These products are perfect for coloured hair such as mine, which always send to get a little frizzier during the winter months. However, since using this duo, I have noticed that my hair is not only feeling silky soft and smooth, I have definitely also seen a definite reduction in the amount of frizz that I get.

Then there's the John Frieda Frizz Ease® Extra Strength 6 Effects™ + Serum, which is a hair treatment that has the highest concentration of frizz fighters in the Frizz Ease range. It is enriched with silk proteins to fight frizz by blocking out humidity, tame and smooth coarse unmanageable hair, as well as work as a defence to weather and thermal protectant while heat styling for all hair types. Oh, and it hydrates dry ends to!. The serum is quite light and non greasy, but also very concentrated, so you only need to use a little ( I need two pumps in my long thick hair), but go slow, as if you use too much, your hair will end up greasy. It is best used in wet hair. It comes in a convenient pump bottle with a unique inner core, which does make it quite cool, but also bigger than it really is.

John Frieda Frizz Ease® Secret Weapon Finishing Creme is intended to be applied to dry hair, and immediately transform dry and parched hair into smooth, supple and shiny hair. The treatment creme helps replace natural oils lost due to blow-drying and daily stress, tear and wear of the hair, and it helps smooth dullness and split ends too. And as it also adds moisture to the hair thanks to the added avocado oil, and it leaves the hair looking glossy, it also immediately looks so much nicer and healthier too. I love the scent of this treatment, and that I can use it on the days I don't wash my hair to freshen up my hair. It is very concentrated so you only need a little, yet it is also super light, and non-greasy too, so it won't leave your hair looking greasy or weigh it down.

Finally, there's the John Frieda Frizz Ease® Dream Curls Styling Form. And let me start by saying that I normally have fairly straight long hair, although it for some reason, after my second pregnancy, has started going a little curly in the back, while the rest of my hair remains straight. At the moment, it is still more straight than curly (or guess I should call it curvy), but I have been experimenting a little with this styling foam that promises to help enhance and create soft touchable waves that look natural, and I really like the look of what it does to my hair, just very unfortunate that the front part of my hair remains straight! To encourage some waves in that part of the hair too, I have been trying to apply the foam at night, before putting my hair into a plait (which I always do at night as it is so long), and when I wake in the morning, it really looks great, with natural waves, that look healthy and shiny! I'll continue to experiment with this styling foam in my confused hair, but if you've got wavy or curly hair, you should check this one out. It smells absolutely amazing too!

John Frieda Frizz Ease® Miraculous Recovery® Shampoo - RRP: $15.99 / 250ml
John Frieda Frizz Ease® Miraculous Recovery® Conditioner - RRP: $15.99 / 250ml
John Frieda Frizz Ease® Extra Strength 6 Effects™ + Serum - RRP: $16.99 / 50ml
John Frieda Frizz Ease® Secret Weapon Finishing Creme - RRP: $16.99 / 113ml
John Frieda Frizz Ease® Dream Curls Styling Foam - RRP: $16.99 / 147ml

Available from Priceline, Woolworths, Coles, Target, and selected Pharmacies

PRODUCT REVIEW: KEUNE BRILLIANT COLOR AND SHINE COLOR CARE PACK

With long coloured hair, I know the importance of using good quality hair care products, as I am immediately tell by the health of my hair if I don't. Keune is one of those brands that has been on my list to try for quite some time. My hair dresser has always used it, and I have always loved the feel and look of my hair after a visit, so unsure why I've never actually gotten around to trying any of the products at home… until a very special pack landed on my desk..

The Brilliant Color and Shine Color Care pack, is a haircare pack specifically designed to protect and enhance colour treated hair, so hence absolutely perfect for my hair.

The pack contains:

  • Color Care Shampoo, 250ml
  • Color Care Conditioner, 200ml
  • Brow Dry Spray, 200ml
  • Brilliant Gloss Spray, 200ml
  • Keune Cosmetic Bag

The Keune Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner both contain Sunflower Seed Extract which protect the hair color, along with Sea Silk protein to conditions the hair leaving it silky and shiny. In addition, the products also have an LP300 color stabilizer to enhance the durability of the color, as well as they are enriched with Solamer UV protector to help prevent the hair from fading in the harsh sun.

The products are intended for daily use, and immediately leave the hair feeling clean, yet without drying it out or making it feel squeaky. My hair also immediately drinks up the conditioner, which is easy to rinse out, and leaves my hair feeling so silky soft, and looking healthy and shiny too. And while it is always difficult to tell the effect of such products, I spend a long time at the hair dresser, and not to mention a good amount of money to get it coloured, so I do love knowing that these products help keep my coloured hair vibrant and shiny for longer.

I also love the smell of these products, a gorgeous floral scent that lingers in my hair for long after my hair is dry.

I admit that I often, and due to time restraints, leave my hair to dry naturally - but when I do use the hair dryer, or any other heat styling tool for that matter, I do what ever I can to keep it from any thermal damage. And the Keune Blow Dry Spray is the perfect treatment to be used in damp hair before blow drying. This spray contains among others flexible styling polymers and silicone to help protect the hair from any dehydrating effects of heat styling, while also reducing the time it takes to dry the hair. And this amazing spray contain helps strengthen the hair, and leave it looking even healthier and shinier, and smooths down frizz for a more sleek and polished look, and all without making the hair feel stiff or weighing it down. It does have a slight alcohol-y scent when first sprayed onto the hair, but once that has evaporated, you're left with that same beautiful floral scent.

Finally, the pack also contains the Keune Brilliant Gloss Spray, which is like a hairspray, but which adds so much gloss to the hair, making it look so incredibly shiny and healthy, and as it is an oil-free formula, it doesn’t make the hair look greasy, unlike many other shine products. And all while helping to protect your locks from UV damage. The Gloss Spray is best used in dry hair, once you've finished styling it, for the final touch, and I like that it feel stiff. It also has a beautiful floral scent which you can only adore.

The products come packaged in a gorgeous marble printed cosmetic bag, which is super useful for both travelling and storing items.

Overall I am really enjoying these products from Keune, and I now fully understand why it is the haircare brand of choice for my hair dresser, and I also think that it is safe to say that I will definitely be looking to top up these products next time I have my hair coloured to ensure that the colour stays bright and vivid for as long as possible. The products are beautiful to use, make my hair feel and look so healthy, and as a bonus, they smell amazing too. And the Keune range is so huge, that there are so many more products now on my wish list to try, including leave-in treatments, hair masks, treatment oils and overnight products.

Keune Color Care Kit - RRP: $82

PRODUCT REVIEW: MATRIX BIOLAGE SUGAR SHINE ILLUMINATING MIST

With long hair, that is coloured, and frequently heat styled, it can often be left looking stressed and dull. But lately I've been loving the new Matrix Biolage Sugar Shine Illuminating Mist.

The Matrix Biolage Sugar Shine Illuminating Mist is a part of a new hair care range, which has been inspired by skincare, to create exceptional shine with the use of sugar. Sugar is a natural humectant that prevents moisture loss and buffs away dullness, and is thus often used in for instance body scrubs.

Matrix Biolage Sugar Shine Illuminating Mist is ultra-light weight leave-in spray, providing brilliant shine while smoothing hair, controlling static and fly-aways. This multi-tasking mist is free from parabens, and also provides heat damage protection from styling tools, protecting the hair up to 230C.

The spray is super easy to use, simply shake well and then spray onto the hair and then style as usual. Ad immediately it leaves my hair looking so shiny and healthy, and it lasts all day. I love the fact that it can be used on both damp as well as dry hair, to give me hair 'new life' on the days I don't wash it, and that it gives my hair a moisture boost. I also love that it is gentle on my hair, and also can be used on my colour treated hair, without fear that it will ruin the colour. And of course I also love that that pretty girly pink bottle and the fact that it smells absolutely incredible from the infused Grapefruit, Orange, Jasmine, Sugarcane and White Musk, which gives it a beautiful sweet fruity scent that continues to linger in the hair.

I really love using this Sugar Shine Illuminating Mist as it simply leaves my hair looking so much better, and it is so quick and simply to use, so if your hair is looking a little dull, I highly recommend you try this Illuminating Mist, you won't be disappointed. Personally, I can see myself repurchasing this, as well as I am keen to try out more products from the range, which also includes shampoo, conditioner and hair scrub!

PRODUCT REVIEW: KEVIN MURPHY SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH, SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE, DOO.OVER AND LEAVE-IN.REPAIR

With long chemically treated hair, I am always looking for great hair care products to keep my hair healthy and shiny. One of those brands I really enjoy for its incredible results is Kevin Murphy (you can find all my previous reviews via the labels to the left of the blog), so I was excited to put the newest offerings to the test..

The new shampoo and conditioner from Kevin Murphy, SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH and SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE has been designed to help the hair tame frizz, by using naturally derived ingredients and biomimetic technology.

The Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH contains among others monoi oil from gardenia flower to smooth and tame he hair, sunflower seed extract to protect the hair, and murumuru seed butter for healthy hair and growth, and olive fruit oil to imitate the natural oils of a healthy scalp.

The Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE contains among others a keratin protein to give the hair extra strength and shine, along with cocoa seed butter to heal damaged ends and improve flexibility, along with Brazil nut oil to help protect, nourish and protect the hair from future damage.

Both products have a slight smell of coconut, which I wish they didn’t, as it is not my preferred scent, however, as the results speak for themselves, I can certainly put up with this smell - which by the way, I know others will absolutely love. And the products really do leave my hair feeling so soft and smooth, from the very first use. The dry ends of my hair, seem healthier, and frizz is definitely minimised to the point where I don't feel that I absolutely have to use an oil serum to smooth it down.

I also love the square upside-down bottles, which are not only super funky, but also makes it possible to completely empty the bottles without any wastage.

The Kevin Murphy LEAVE-IN.REPAIR is as the name suggests a leave-in treatment which helps treat hair damaged by colouring, harsh sun or everyday pollutants. This treatment can be used in either damp or towel dried hair, and is using anti-ageing skincare research to help nourish and protect the hair and prevent further damage and breakage. It is free from parabens and contains among others rose geranium, clove leaf oil, jojoba seed oil, green tea protein and bamboo leaf extract as well as pineapple and papaya enzymes to help repair the hair and increase moisture retention, for a reconstructed and revitalised hair, that is shinier and healthier.

The actual treatment is thin and light, and absorbs quickly and easily into the hair, without making it look or feel greasy, or weighing it down, and like all other Kevin Murphy products, it is a lovely natural scent from the natural ingredients. I really love how soft and smooth this treatment makes my hair, and I love that I can use it in both wet and dry hair, so I can also give my hair an extra moisture boost and protection on the days I don’t wash it. It comes in a gorgeous, and architecturally shaped pastel blue bottle that looks stunning in the bathroom, and is easy to use thanks to the pump.

I have also really been loving the Kevin Murphy DOO.OVER, which is a dry powder finishing hairspray, designed to be used on dry hair to remove any excess moisture and oil, and give the hair more volume at the same time, to help revive and refresh, or you can say 'doo' over your hairstyle, and this extending the period between hair washes.

The DOO.OVER contains among others tapioca starch to help keep the hair soft and remove excess oil and moisture, as well as Virginian cedar wood for its astringent and antiseptic properties, along with silica to increase the hair's volume and shine, while providing just a tiny bit of hold, sufficient to stop those frustrating flyaways.

DOO.OVER smells kind of like most hairsprays, but I really like this one, as it has helped add so much volume into my heavy and flat long hair by spraying it onto the roots, all while being such a lifesaver when I'm in a rush in the mornings and haven't got time to wash my hair. Other sprays like this also often make the hair look white and dull, but not this one, which does give it a touch of sheen, which is a refreshing change. Yes, a little pricey, but absolutely worth it. And besides, who can resist that pretty pink can!!

Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH - RRP: $38.95 / 250ml
Kevin Murphy SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE - RRP: $39.95 / 250ML
Kevin Murphy LEAVE-IN.REPAIR - RRP: $49.95 / 200ml
Kevin Murphy DOO.OVER - RRP: $42.95 / 250ml

PRODUCT REVIEW: CLICKnCURL BLOWOUT BRUSH SET

Today I'd like to share with you a new way of adding volume and giving your hair curls, thanks to the Click n Curl Blowout Brush Set.

The Click n Curl is a new way of getting the perfect blow dry of your hair at home. The system features detachable round brush styling tools that made from aluminium, with the barrel coated with ceramic, so they quickly heats up to help create lovely loose curls and lots of volume.

To use, you simply click the handle onto one of the barrels, and I your hair is wet, use the barrel to create volume, while drying the hair. Once dry (of if using in dry hair), wrap the hair around the barrel. Once you've rolled all your hair, I personally like to give my hair a blast of hot air with my hair dryer to give them a little more heat (my hair is long and heavy, so I find this helps create even more curls and volume). And when all the barrels have cooled down, you can carefully remove them to unveil the curls and volume. I then use my fingers to gently tousle my hair, and then give it a light spray of a flexible hairspray to set the style and make it last.

I do have to admit I struggled a little putting these into my hair, but the main reason is that my hair is very very long and thick, so I probably should have tried the larger barrels in stead, and secondly, I have a very sore shoulder following a shoulder surgery years ago, so having my arms over my head for prolonged periods of time, is simply very painful.

But that said, once I got the hang of it, it was surprisingly easy, and again, I think it would be a lot easier if you haven't got as long or as thick hair to work through. And I actually really like that I can leave the barrels in my hair (kind of like an old-fashioned curler!) to cool down while I do other things such as my makeup. And the results speak for themselves, as my otherwise flat and limp hair got a lot of bouncy volume and natural looking curls.

ClicknCurl have several different sets available to cater for different hair lengths, and you can also purchase expansion packs with additional barrels if the 5 barrels in the pack is not sufficient.

ClicknCurl Blowout Brush Set, Medium Full Set - RRP: $110

PRODUCT REVIEW: SILVER BULLET HYBRID

Today I'd like to talk about a new launch from Silver Bullet, the Hybrid Straightening Brush… I've previously talked about some amazing tools from Silver Bullet, and common for all, is that I've really liked them, as the quality has been top notch and the sleek black design so stylish.

The Silver Bullet Hybrid is an Ionic Ceramic Straightening Brush straightens, and is to be used in dry hair. And to straighten, you simply brush through the hair, and you're left with super soft and smooth, and straight hair in a single pass! And what's more is that it is also frizz free, and looking shiny and healthy too, thanks to the ionic generator that helps add moisture back into the hair follicles as it is straightened.

The straightener features;
  • LCD digital temperature display
  • Adjustable temperature control: 160-210°C
  • Slender brush head making it easier to get close to the roots
  • Round-tipped heated bristles which easily glide through hair 360 degree power swivel cord for optimum manoeuvrability
  • Dual voltage for worldwide usage
  • 2 year warranty

And in spite of my hair being very thick and long, using an 'ordinary' hair straightener can be very time consuming, but thanks to the Silver Bullet Hybrid, it is now not only easy, it is also very quick.

As with any other heat styler, use a little heat protection spray in my hair prior to straightening it, and then I'm good to go.

Like with other straighteners, I like to section my hair, and then when I want to add some much needed volume to my hair, I use the brush upside down - so instead of using it like a normal hair brush, I use it with the bristles of the styler facing upwards, as I find that really helps get some volume into the hair right at the roots.

Yet again, Silver Bullet has really impressed me, and I know I’ll be using this Hybrid over and over again, as I am so impressed with the results, and at how quickly I can straighten my hair. Highly recommended.

Silver Bullet Hybrid - RRP: $99.95

PRODUCT REVIEW: LITTLE INNOSCENTS ORGANIC BABY SKINCARE

I've always been vary of what skincare products I use on my two boys skin. They are both very blonde and fair, and while they do not specifically suffer from dermatitis or any other skin concerns, they do seem to have very sensitive skin. So I was naturally excited when I was introduced to the Little Innoscents Organic Baby Skincare range.

The Little Innoscents Organic Baby Skincare range is an Australian made and owned range, and all the products contain nothing but effective natural ingredients.

Let's start with the Little Innoscents Baby Wipes. These wipes have been infused with aloe vera and vitamin E, and they are PH balanced and super gentle and suitable for even the most sensitive baby skin. I love that they are so thick that they can handle even a very 'messy' bum! I also love that they are free from chemicals so they are also safe to use to wipe down faces and sticky fingers. When our youngest was new born, he had a little bit of nappy rash, that flared up each time we used wipes, so eventually we resorted to using just water and cotton balls for a while, which was naturally difficult when we were out and about, so these wipes would have been so handy to have then as they would without a doubt have made a difference.

The Hair & Body Wash is an all-in-one product that is loaded with natural plant extracts including spearmint, sweet orange, and it has the most gorgeous fresh fruity scent. The gel is free from sulphates, yet it still foams up well, and gently cleanses both hair and body, and while I did intend for this to be used on my two little boys only, I have to admit to having used it too as a shower gel, as I simply couldn't resist it with the beautiful sent.

Then there's the Intensive Soothing Cream, which is an organic healing cream packed with shea butter, rosewood, lavender and avocado oils, and calendula extract, and since we've been using it on our little boys bottoms at every nappy change, they've not had one red bum, even the usual nasty teething periods that has always left both my boys with sore bottoms leaves, we've gotten over with a hitch, thanks to this cream. And I love that it can also be used on other rashes and dermatitis to help heal and soothe the skin.

The Winter Blues Balm, which is also called Baby Vapour Rub Balm, we got a the perfect time, as our 3.5 year old got hit with a bad cold, his first cold in about 1.5 years.

The balm contains medicinal essential oils including wintergreen and eucalyptus, as well as lemon, peppermint, and rosemary and beeswax, and it helps the baby breathe a little easier and avid nasal congestion and stuffy noses. And it is still so gentle, that it is even suitable to use on newborns! So when our boy was struggling to breathe at night, because he was so snotty, a little of this fresh and zesty smelling balm rubbed into his chest and feet, and it clearly helped him relax and breathe better in no time.

Finally, there's the Hair Fudge, and having a 3.5yo that is more or less refusing to leave the house unless his hair is waxed or gelled up, I was excited putting this one to the test - especially as he at times complains that his head is itch at the end of the day, after we've used certain gels or waxes in his hair. This hair fudge contains no alcohol, parabens or SLS, and with all its natural ingredients including rosewood and orange essential oils, it is also very gentle. It promises to give the hair a strong hold, but without any white flakes or residue on the hair or scalp, and it can be used in both wet or dry hair. Our little boy, being so blonde, also has very fine hair, and sadly, this fudge just didn't hold his hair in place, yes, it did tame it and control the flyaways, but unfortunately it just didn't have sufficient hold for his messy or 'spiky hair-do. But it works perfectly on little brother's baby hairs that are still a bit wild as they are still growing out, and again, I love that the fudge is so natural, that I can use this on him, without any concerns.

So there you go, a selection of Little Innoscents Organic Baby Skincare products. I've enjoyed using all on my little boys, and particularly fallen for the wipes, hair & body wash, the soothing cream and the sun lotion, and I'm very keen on putting other products from the range to the test too, including the Moisture Rich Body Lotion, the Paw Paw Balm, as well as some of the Himalayan Bath Salts and Home Cleaning Products.

PRODUCT REVIEW: REMINGTON SALON PRO SILK CERAMIC HAIR DRYER

Back in the day where I got up early every morning to go to my very corporate job, I always used to hair dryer after washing my hair but these days, being at home with our two little boys, I admit to often leaving it to dry naturally. My long thick hair is naturally thanking me for this, generally a lot healthier, but the main reason I am not doing it, unless I'm going out, is that with two little toddlers running around my legs, it simply takes way to long time. But then the Remington Salon Pro Silk Ceramic Hair Dryer landed on my desk…

The Remington Salon Pro Silk Ceramic Hair Dryer is a pretty powerful one, featuring a massive 2400W for a powerful professional performance, but I also has a myriad of other features, including;

  • 2400W Powerful AC Dryer
  • 140km/h fast airflow speed for quicker drying
  • Silk ceramic technology that provides even heat distribution for a silky smooth finish
  • Conditioning ionic technology
  • Turbo boost function to increase airflow by 10%
  • True cool shot to finish an set your style
  • 90% more ions for a frizz free shine
  • 3 heat and 2 speed settings
  • Includes two concentrator nozzles and a 'curling' diffuser for control airflow and styling
  • Hang loop
  • Removable filter for easy cleaning
  • 5 year warranty

This hair dryer comes in a gorgeous red shade, which is such a refreshing change from the usual black hair dryers that have dominated the market for the past many years. I also really like that it is so powerful, as it really does dramatically cut down the time it takes to dry my thick long hair. I also love that it has several heat settings so I can tailor it to my needs, and also finish off with a blast of cool air at the end to cool down the hair follicles and set my hair style. The two different concentrator nozzles, in different sizes as well as the 'curling' diffuser, are great inclusions too for specific styling, and lately I've been particularly loving the 'curling' diffuser, where I first spray my hair with a little saltwater texture spray, before drying it for natural beachy waves.

And the fact that it has both silk ceramic technology and a conditioning ionic technology, combined means that my hair is infused with hydration and moisture for a more healthy and shiny looking hair free from frizz.

Considering the quality and how powerful this stylish hairdryer from Remington is, this is a really reasonably priced, and would make for a great Christmas present too.

PRODUCT REVIEW: EVY IQ-ONEGLIDE STYLER 1.5

Once upon a time my hair was straight, but then after my last pregnancy something has happened to my hair. It is starting to go curly. Quite curly actually, and in spite of my hair being very very long and thick, it is close to ringlets, and even my hair dress is amazed at this change. But for some reason it is mainly in the back and neck, while the front is still straigh-ish, so unless I have my hair up in pony, plait of bun, I do feel that I need to either curl it, or straighten it, so it doesn't look odd. But as my hair again is so thick and long, this is a time-consuming process, and with two little toddlers, I rarely haven't got a lot of spare time! So when the EVY iQ-OneGlide Styler, a hair straightener, landed on my desk, I was naturally beyond excited.

The EVY Professional hair stylers features a unique patterned Japanese mineral technology, which has 32 natural negative ion-generating minerals - a blend of post-volcanic minerals which work to micronise or break down water molecules so they can more easily penetrate the hair follicle, and thereby help add hydration and moisture to the hair as you style it, for a hair that’s silky smooth and healthy looking. How high-tech does that sound!!

Along with the ion-generating minerals infused into the straightening plate, the EVY iQ OneGlide also features 24-carat gold to glide through the hair more smoothly and add even deeper hydration to the hair, ensuring better inner health of the hair, and consequently less hair breakage and split ends. But the styler also has;

  • A unique 3-strip plate design to allow it to move and glide through the hair without catching
  • A digital temperature/d; control from 130-210 degrees Celsius
  • Automatic shut-off function after 60mins
  • A soft touch finish to make it easier to style and curl
  • Metal ceramic heater for faster heating
  • Large 1.5" plates
  • 3m long rotating cord
  • Heat proof roll bag for storage and travelling

So how did this EVY iQ-OneGlide Styler perform. Well for starters I am pleased to say that it really does heat up super fast, so I can immediately get on with styling my hair. And as claimed, it does glide through my hair quickly and easily without any resistance, and it takes just one go, and my hair is left super soft and smooth. And, unlike after using other hair straighteners, my hair doesn't feel like it has been dried out or distressed, but it really does look and feel super soft and smooth, and it really does look healthy and shiny, so this unique mineral technology really does seem to make a difference.

The straightener is light and easy to hold, also in a small hand, and it is easy to use thanks to the 3m long rotating cord that ensures it doesn't get tangled up. The wider 1.5" plates makes it quicker to style my hair too, as I can simply do larger and thicker sections at a time. I also love that it has a digital display so it is easy to see the heat setting, and while it is easiest and quickest to style my thick long hair with the highest, 210C setting, I do love that it has a large range of heat settings from 130-210C to cater for a range of different hair types. And often distracted by my two toddlers (and adding a bit of forgetfulness on top!), I also love the fact that the hair styler will automatically shut off after 60 minutes.

Needless to say that I have collected a range of hair styling tools over the years, but common for all, is that I do not know how to best store them, so I also love that the EVY comes with a cool back that makes both storage, and taking the styler with you on holidays, that much easier.

At $299 this EVY Professional iQ-OneGlide Styler 1.5" is not the cheapest of styler, but if you ask me, it is worth it - and if you regularly straighten your hair you'll agree, that it is a price worth paying for a styler that cares for your hair as you use it!

PRODUCT REVIEW: R+CO ROCKAWAY AND DEATH VALLEY

I've got very long and thick hair, and to be very honest, I am very fond of my hair. Probably a little too fond sometimes, as that's probably what stops me from daring to get some of it chopped off for a different hair style, but that’s another story! But fact is that I like my hair, and I know that caring for it, means that it, in spite of its length, says looking healthy. Which of course means using good hair products. Lately I've been enjoying some from R+Co..

It took many years before I discovered dry shampoo, in fact it wasn't until a shoulder surgery made it difficult for me to wash and comb my hair, that I started relying on it. Since then I've trained my hair to only needing to be washed every 3 or so days, without looking or feeling greasy - but I do rely on dry shampoo to get my by. I've tried many brands, and most, even drug store brands are pretty goo these days, but every now and again a little luxe doesn't go astray. And that's when I love using this R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo. It claims to be 'the quickest way to get volume and body into your hair. Give your hair a shot of Death Valley whenever you want and it will liven right up'.

This dry shampoo instantly makes my hair feel a little cleaner between washes, as it also helps mattify the roots so they don't look greasy, and without leaving the hair looking grey. In addition, it also adds some much needed volume and control to my thick hair, so it is actually also great for styling the hair. It has a gorgeous coconutty scent that lingers in the hair for quite some time, which also helps with making your hair feel clean.

This is an incredible dry shampoo, and its not hard to see why this is so raved about all over the world, it is not the cheapest, but on the other hand, it also seems a little more concentrated, so I feel that I do use a lot less than with some drugstore varieties. I'm certainly in love with it too.

The R+Co Rockaway Salt Spray claims that it is 'the closest you'll get to looking like you've bee at the beach without stepping out of the concrete jungle". Love that, especially seeing it is not exactly beach weather here right now, and with two little kiddies, not where I’ll be spending most of my summer anyway.

I love adding this salt spray to my wet hair and either blow dry it or let dry naturally, as this gives it more texture an adds more wave and volume to it - and all while leaving my hair soft and manageable, without any stiffness. And, smelling so beautiful. I've tried several salt sprays, and this by far one of the better ones, definitely a must try.

PRODUCT REVIEW: ARBONNE PURE VIBRANCE COLORLAST SERUM AND HAIR SPRAY

You may know that I am quite the fan of Arbonne. Over the years I've had the pleasure of trying out quite an array of different products from their ranges (you can find links to all via my product directory), but today it is the first time I put some of their hair care products to the test. Here I've been trying the Arbonne Pure Vibrance ColorLast Hair Serum and Hair Spray.

These products were sent to me by the lovely Natalie Xylas, an independent Arbonne Consultant (see below for her contact details) very long time ago - but then before I knew it, my little boy ended up in hospital for almost five months, - and the day he came home from we moved into our new house. Talk about chaos. And with me being at the hospital all the time with our little boy, also meant that my husband had been packing all the boxes, and I had no idea where to find anything. And for months after our little boy came home from hospital, life was still so hectic, getting settled into our new house, taking our boy to the hospital 3+ times a week for checkup, and spending some much needed time with our then 2.5 year old that I had spent way too little time with during the months in hospital. Needless to say that blogging was not priority, and it has taken me months to catch up.. But I'm now almost there!

Anyway, enough babbling, let's start talking about the Arbonne Pure Vibrance ColorLast Hair Serum. I have long thick hair which I was every few days, and I rely on hair serums to help keep my hair looking good. This serum has a built-in colour fade technology to protect your hair colour from fading, at the same time as it helps control frizz, protect from heat styling damage and adds shine to the hair.

The Hair Serum comes in a convenient pump bottle and just a few small pumps is sufficient for my long hair. The serum is very light for an oil, and it absorbs into the hair immediately, leaving it incredibly soft and shiny. It also makes my dry ends look healthier and controls frizz and those annoying flyaways too.

The serum contains among others argan oil, orange and mandarin peel oil and lavender oil to add extra moisture to the hair, abyssinian oil to condition, add shine and prevent hair breakage. It also contains rice extract to help protect and enhance hair colour
while providing protection against hair breakage and add strength to hair, while Hawaiian white ginger root repairs and strengthens damaged hair and Horsetail extract helps fortify hair and prevents hair breakage.

This hair serum is so beautiful and I love how it makes my hair look and feel, and I love that it can be used in both wet and dry hair. And as an added bonus it also has the divine floral fragrance that luckily keeps lingering in my hair for long after I've applied it.

Then there's the Arbonne Pure Vibrance ColorLast Hair Spray, which is a non-flaky, alcohol free hair spray that can create tousled, touchable soft hair, with a lasting flexible hold. It also contains the ColorLast technology to protect colour treated hair, keeping it looking vibrant.

The Hair Spray contains among others panthenol to add moisture to the hair and keep hair from breaking, linseed extract to preserve hair colour
and vicia faba seed extract to promote fuller looking hair. It also contains artichoke leaf extract to protect the integrity of the hair and promote shine, and like the serum, it also contains rice extract, orange and mandarin peel oil, Hawaiian white ginger and horsetail extract to protect hair colour and prevents hair breakage, repair, strengthen hair and fortify the hair.

I like that this hair spray, unlike most other hair sprays, come in an aerosol can. And as promised, it really does give my hair hold and keeps those flyaways controlled too, while not making my hair feel stiff - it is simply soft and flexible - and it still lasts all day. Like the serum, the hair spray, also smells amazing, although the fragrance unfortunately is not quite as strong as the serum.

Both products come in beautiful purple bottles, that are ever so girlie and look stunning in the bathroom too.

So there you go, - my first time trying Arbonne haircare products, and needless to say that I am not disappointed, Arbonne really doesn't fail to impress me - I love these products, and will be so sad the day I finish these products.

PRODUCT REVIEW: ORIBE APRES BEACH WAVE AND SHINE SPRAY AND SUPERSHINE MOISTURISING CREAM

Today I'd like to talk about a couple of products from Oribe, which have received so many positive rave reviews lately, the Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray and the Supershine Moisturising Cream.

Let's start with the Oribe Apres Beach Wave And Shine Spray. This spray claims to give your hair beach-inspired waves without any of the salty stiffness, all while adding moisture and shine to the hair. It gives the hair a light hold, and helps create a wavy texture in the hair.

The formula contains among others watermelon, lychee and edelweiss flower extracts to help defend the hair against stress, photo ageing and deteriation of natural keratin while protecting it from the elements.

It also contains Pro-vitamin B5 to make the hair shaft swell to create waves, as well as a blend of moisturisers, plant extracts and oils to give the hair a silky soft texture and natural UV protection, all while conditioning and renewing damaged hair and adding body and shine.

I used to have more or less dead-straight hair, but the something happened during my last pregnancy, and my hair is now starting to get a little curvy, so I do enjoy adding products to my hair to explore this new hair of mine, while still easily being able to straighten it.

The Apres Beach Spray can be used in both wet or dry hair, and is simply sprayed to the mid-lengths of the hair, before tousling the hair to taste and leaving it to dry. And the result is hair that has more touchable texture and volume, that also controls frizz and flyaways, and leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy - and smelling incredible.

Then there's the Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream, which is essentially a leave-in cream that adds intense moisture to dry hair, to help calm frizz, add shine and restore the hair to healthy softness. The Cream is best used in damp hair after washing it, after which you can blow dry it or leave it to dry naturally, but you can also apply a little to dry hair to help tame frizz and flyaways.

Like the Apres Beach, the Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream is chock full of natural flower extracts and nourishing oils, and it adds to many benefits to the hair without weighing it down or building up in the hair. I really love this Moisturising Cream, and I can feel how it absorbs into my long hair, prone to dryness at the ends, and it immediately makes my hair feel and look so much healthier and shinier, and leaves my hair with the most divine scent too. This is the perfect everyday treatment for my long hair.

Both the Apres Beach and the Supershine Moisturising Cream come in super stylish purple packaging, and smell amazing - they are on the pricey side of hair care products, but that said, they are also extremely concentrated, so you really only need to use a little.

I have found two new favourites, and would hate to be without them, as I really do love what they do to my hair, how I can create a casual 'un-done' tousled hair style, with the Apres Beach and how my hair is day after day benefiting from the Supershine Moisturising Cream. These products are truly luxurious and so beautiful to use, so well worth the extra spend.
