As a beauty junkie, there is nothing better than coming across new and exciting brands. And even more so when they are family-owned Australian brands, with products made locally from high levels of active natural and organic and mineral ingredients, based on research and science with a sound testing behind them too. I am talking about Aevitas Actives, who kindly sent me two products to test, the BB Prime along with the BB Finish 5in1*.
The Aevitas Actives BB Prime, like all other primers is to be used prior to BB creams or foundations to make the makeup stay looking nice for longer. With my combination skin, using a primer is a must, especially during the hot summer months, or my makeup will simply slide off my face by lunch time. But sadly a lot of primers contain silicone (Dimethecone), to help give the skin that silky soft feel, but sadly it is an ingredient that I’ve long suspected is clogging up the pores on my blemish prone skin, causing my skin to become more congested and get more breakouts if used too frequently. So as a result, I have stopped use primers as often as I really should, as in the end of the day, I’d rather touch up my makeup and powder my nose mid day, than have my skin break out. So I really loved it when I found out that the Aevitas Actives BB Prime doesn’t contain silicone. Bonus.
The BB Prime contains among others;
- Vitamin B5 to moisturise
- Shea Butter, rich in fatty acids and Vitamin A
- Titanium Dioxide USP, a natural sun protectant
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): a great source to boost immunity to the skin, improves redness and blotchiness, helps to dull hyper-pigmentation and minimise the look of wrinkles and lines
- Vitamin E, an antioxidant and skin conditioner
The Aevitas Actives BB Prime promises to help blur imperfections, even skin tone, control oil and brighten the skin. It has a slightly pale beige shade, but blends into the skin invisible and it really does make such a huge difference to the look of my skin, even without using any BB Cream or foundation afterwards - and I’ve actually found myself using it on its own as I love what it does to my skin. My skin is not only left feeling softer and smoother and very moisturised, it is also left looking more even, and so radiant too, and it is also as if my lines, especially those fine ones around my eyes on on my forehead, seem somewhat smaller, and it really does help keep my skin looking less greasy throughout the day.
Its without a doubt one of the best primers I’ve used. And I love that it has skincare benefits too, treating my skin, including lines and wrinkles and pigmentation as I wear it.
Next is the Aevitas Actives BB Finish 5in1, which is seriously the ultimate multi-tasker. It is a tinted BB Cream that has been enriched with nourishing ingredients including among others;
- Vitamin C from Kakadu Plum Extract to protect skin from free radicals
- Aloe Vera for its soothing properties
- Avocado oil, an antioxidant rich in Oleic Acid and Vitamin E
- Shea Butter: rich in fatty acids and Vitamin A
- Hyaluronic Acid an excellent anti-ageing agent
- Vitamin E: skin conditioner; antioxidant
- Kalpariane: helps aid and nurture collagen and hyaluronic acid
- Zinc Oxide: a perfect skin barrier and sun protectant
- Actiwhite: from pea extract that naturally brightens skin and prevents blemishes
- Biolumis™: a natural phyto complex that helps give skin a radiant glow
The BB Finish promises to not only even out the skin tone, but also treat the skin with the nourishing ingredients to help protect, moisturise, brighten and firm the skin as you wear it.
With my ageing skin and increasing pigmentation, along with scarring from past acne, I rarely ever leave the house without some type of foundation, and I have to say that I really have been enjoying this Aevitas Actives BB Finish 5in1, as it really does help even out my skin tone, cover any redness including broken capillaries (around the nose area) and smaller breakouts, all while being so light and natural looking, making my skin look so much better, healthier and more glowing. Almost like not wearing anything at all. It wears well throughout the day, without looking greasy or settling into my fine lines, though I do like a quick touch of of especially the t-zone area if I am not using a primer underneath. But used with the BB Prime, it simply doesn’t budge all day.
This is such an amazing Aevitas Actives BB Cream. Again, I absolutely love that it combines makeup with skincare, and not only helps fight the signs of ageing including pigmentation, lines and wrinkles, but also contains ingredients to help prevent blemishes.
These products are seriously amazing, and feel and look so amazing not the skin, and I love that they are made with active natural and organic and mineral ingredients, caring and treating the skin as you wear them. And with their anti-ageing benefits that help dull hyper-pigmentation, brightens skin as well prevents blemishes, these products are seriously a match made in heaven for my ageing yet blemish prone skin.
Aevitas Actives also has a BB Prime Pro in the range, which I’m pretty keen on too, as it promises keep your make up glowing and fresh from dawn till dusk. And going by how incredible the BB Finish 5in1 and the BB Prime are, I have no doubt that the Prime Pro is nothing short of amazing too.
