Time to get my two little boys toy testing again, this time with the Goliath Squawk Egg-Splosive Chicken Game..
This game is a game intended for kids aged 4 and up - mainly as it contains small parts, so it is not recommended for little ones below three years of age. You can play it with 2-4 players.
To play the game, you throw the dice to see how many times you need to poke the chicken, until she opens up her hen house and lays an egg. If nothing happens, the next player rolls, until the chicken lays an egg, the chicken leaning slightly forward and the egg rolling out the back of the coop. The player then cracks open the egg, to see if the fried egg side or the chick side faces up. There are six chick token in the game, and the player with the most chicks at the end, wins the game.
The game does require a little assembly, and also stickers added, which does require an adult, but it is quick and easy to do. It doesn't require any batteries, which is always great. The quality of the toy is great, and perfect for kids, and the bright yellow chicken has a funny expression on its face i, and not to mention the laud 'squawk' when the chicken is poked, is sure to be loved by all kids.
My two boys sure loved the funny squawk (my two dogs not so much!), and thought that it was hilarious when the chicken was leaning forward and laid an egg, and their laughs were, and are so priceless each time they play.
I love seeing them have so much fun, and the fact that it is a game of luck, and not skill, so nobody has an advantage over others, and anyone can win the game. I also love that the game has such simple rules that the kids can play it on their own, though adults will sure also get a giggle from this. And even our 2 year old (under supervision of course), has so much fun playing the game.
My only negative about this game, is that once it has been assembled, it no longer fits into the box it came in, so it becomes very difficult to store, and consequently keeping track of the necessary eggs, token and the dice, can therefore be challenging.
That said, it is such a fun game, and regardless of how many times my boys play it, the novelty just doesn't seem to wear off, and each squawk and laid eggs, and they cannot stop laughing - yes, the squawk is a little loud, and I guess, does get a little annoying after a while, but for the sake of your kids having fun, it is completely worth it.
So if you're looking for a fun game for your kids, or family time, you really should check out Squawk - it really is egg-cellent :-)
