PRODUCT REVIEW: RIMMEL LONDON VELVET MATTE NAIL COLLECTION

High glossy nail polishes have been in for as long as I can remember, so any change is always lovely in my opinion. So it is with excitement that I today share with you a newly launched matte nail polish collection, the Rimmel London Velvet Matte Nail Collection;

What I Say:

 

This new nail polish collection is right on trend, with its matte finish and the four beautiful autumn style shades.

 

The range is available in;

 

• Velvet Touch – A slate Grey
• Sumptuous Red – A Crimson red
• Midnight Kiss – A dark Cobalt blue
• Matti-tude – an inky black

 

When you first apply the nail polish, it goes on like any other nail polish, with heaps of shine and gloss, but as it dries, it dries to a matte finish.

  

Rimmel does say that it is a velvet matte finish, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it a velvet finish, although that is not saying that I don’t like the matte finish, it is such a refreshing change, and perfect for the autumn and winter season.

  

And every single shade is so stunning that it is hard to pick a favourite, and I really love all of them, although I particularly take a liking to the blue and the black shades.

  

The polishes last approx. 4 days before they start to chip at the edges, which personally I find is decent. You can of course extend the life for the nail polishes but using a base coat first, and a top coat, but of course, with a top coat, you’d unfortunately lost the beautiful matte finish.

 

Overall I really like these new matte shades from Rimmel, I only wish that there were more shades available in the range!
