Time to enlist the help of my little boy Oliver for another toy review, this time of the recently launched Pillow Pets Popables.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I am sure you know what a Pillow Pet is. I certainly did, and well before we had our little boy. They are simply a pillow with a cute teddy bear head attached at one end, and they come in all

What They Say:

The new Pillow Pets Popables transform from one character into another! At first glance, you have a pillow that’s also a very cute Pet. Pop open its head, flip it over and you’ll find the surprise waiting inside… another, very different, very cute friend.

RRP: $29.99 – Available from Big W, Toys R Us and ToyWorld

What Oliver Says:

As soon as Oliver saw the adorable purple Monster, he loved it, and he was so surprised when I turned it around to reveal the one-eyed, but equally cute yellow Alien – although there is no doubt that he prefers the Monster. He loves cuddling it, and putting it on the floor, saying ‘night night’.

As you may know, the Pillow Pets, are both teddy bear pets, and when you pull the Velcro strap, it flattens out and turns into a pillow, perfect for resting on. The pillow is so soft, made from chenille fabric, that in fact so soft that even I may have taken a little snooze on it a night or two on the couch after Oliver has been put to bed..

I love the fact that it is a two in one toy, - well more actually, when you remember that you have two different looking pets that both turn into a reversible pillow- so in that way, it is so much better, and offers more value than the standard ‘one pet’ Pillow Pets.

Popping/turning it into the other pet, as well as securely fastening the Velcro strap is a little tricky, so Oliver is a little too little to master that himself at this stage, but I am sure that he will learn soon.

I also love the fact that it is machine washable, so you can easily just pop it into the washing machine when it becomes too grotty.

This really is the perfect toy, a pet to play with during the day, and a pillow sleeping companion during the night.

New pillow pets become available all the time, the latest I’ve seen is the character from the Disney’s Frozen, so make sure to keep an eye on the shops!
