Who doesn’t love Laura Mercier products. I personally especially love the primers including the Radiance Fondation Primer, the Secret Camouflage Concealer and the Caviar Eyeshadow Sticks. So when I was asked to trial the newly launched Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme Foundation*, I happily accepted. Here are my thoughts;
What They Say:
Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme Foundation incorporates innovative ingredients that hydrate the skin and soften the appearance of fine lines for a naturally flawless look. This new formula is a makeup artist classic foundation oil and water emulsion and is silicone free. Available in 10 shades.
RRP: $59 (29ml) – Available from Adore Beauty and David Jones
What I Say:
The Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme Foundation comes in a stylish round pump bottle with a round brown metallic lid, all presented in a silver box. I really love that it comes with a pump as it makes it easier to dispense just the amount of foundation you need, without wastage, plus it is also a lot more hygienic too!
The actual foundation is quite runny, and it is recommended that you shake the foundation well before use to evenly disperse the moisturising formula within the highly pigmented base.
The foundation contains among others avocado and argan oil, aloe and omega-3 to help both moisturise and prevent moisture loss.
The foundation is intended for normal to dry skin types, so I was in doubt on how it would perform on my combination skin, also because it tends to become a little greasier during the warmer summer months. But I was pleasantly surprised that it wore well during the day, only needing a quick powdering on my t-zone by late afternoon to get rid of the shine. But all without fading, changing colour, or settling into fine lines
Considering the runny formula, I was very amazed to discover that the foundation offers a medium coverage, that you can easily build up slightly more but still maintaining a healthy natural looking finish. And because it is a moisturising formula it does give the skin a dewy, and hence also glowing finish. It easily covers minor pigmentation, redness and blemishes, although, as expected, I still need to call on my trusted Secret Camouflage Concealer to hide those bags under my eyes from one too many nights of being woken by our little boy, or the darker clusters of pigmentation and scars from past acne.
You can apply it with both your fingers, a sponge or for an even more flawless finish, with a foundation brush.
Overall I love how this foundation makes my skin look so glowing and healthy, and while my skin doesn’t need the extra boost of moisture, I do love how it gives my skin a much needed youthful glow and doesn’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles in my skin. And what’s even more is that it is fragrance free so it is perfectly suited to sensitive skin types too, and it is also silicone-free, so it is also perfect for skin types like mine, prone to breakouts, as it doesn’t clog up your pores!
