Valentine's day is just around the corner... Valentines Day, the day known as a romantic day for lovers to express their love for each other by sending greeting cards or gifting each other presents such as flowers, chocolate or other gifts. However, there are a lot of singles our there who have not yet found the love of their life, or who have simply chosen to be single - and I've come up with a selection of cool suggestions you can either gift yourself, or a friend who's single..
Speaking of chocolate, the cause of most girls' sins... What about the book "How to Be Thin in a World of Chocolate" by Michele Connolly. The book is full of cute illustrations, and is an easy, and funny book to read, and is loaded with great tips while being an anti-fad, anti-misery guide on how to lose weight, look and feel great while being happy and enjoying life's pleasures.
The book suggests an achievable approach, where you can still enjoy the food you love including cake/chocolate/wine, - but simply have to make some realistic lifestyle changes in order to achieve the weight loss goals. To help, the informative book, offers a huge amount of nutritional, exercise and mindset tips, all with a touch of quirky sense of humour that makes it an enjoyable read. It is all about being more aware of your choices, and enjoying your pleasures. A must read.
But as they say, everything within reason, so why deny yourself a piece of chocolate or a glass of wine. I'm loving red wines from McLaren Vale, and this Shiraz 2016 from Gondwana Wines. It a rich and full bodied red wine with dark chocolate, exotic spices and an amazing depth of rich, dark fruits. And what's cool too, is that portions of sales from the socially-conscious wine brand go toward the Leading The Way initiative, which provides innovative training, employment and capacity building programs to benefit Indigenous Australians, as well as further portions of sales support the Indigenous artists whose work features on the label.
