PRODUCT REVIEW: URBAN RITUELLE SEA SALT AND LEMON MYRTLE GIFT SET

You may know that I'm a bit of a fragrance addict. But it doesn't stop at wearing perfume myself, I also love it when my home sells nice - when the smell of my two beautiful dogs is disguised, and I can't smell what we've had for dinner the night before… and one of those brands that never fails to impress, is Urban Rituelle.

Urban Rituelle is an Australian brand that is always on the forefront on launching new collections, and today I'm going to chat about one of those, the Sea Salt & Lemon Myrtle Gift Set from the new Summer Holiday Collection 2016. This gift set contains a fragrance diffuser set as well as the Nourishing Hand Cream. Common for these products are that they are featuring crisp white minimalistic design with gold highlights and golden foil scripts on the packaging

The Fragrance Diffuser Set comes in a gorgeous and simple white frosted glass bottle with the Urban Rituelle logo in gold as well as a golden tassel and beaded chain around the neck of the bottle. It has a black lid, but of course you will remove this and insert the diffuser reeds, which in this case are black. And I really love that they are black, and not the usual light timer colour and it really makes this diffuser unique and stand out from anything I've seen before. And it is perfect in my mono-chrome themed house too.

It comes with 8 sticks, but personally I've only inserted 4 reeds - simply because the actual fragrance is of such quality and consequently strong and intense when you first open it, and my husband, while he does love when our house smells nice, does complain that he gets hay fever from too strong scents - so we've kind of compromised and I can put the diffusers around the house, but try to control and slightly reduce the amount of scent they omit by reducing the amount of reeds used.

Now onto the scent, which is Sea Salt and Lemon Myrtle - and you may know that lemon is one of my favourite scents, I simply adore the fresh, clean and zesty citrus scent, so this is right up my alley. And this is the most refreshing scent you'll come across, so clean and uplifting and the added sea salt makes my think of long days spent at the beach. Simply divine.

Then there's the included Sea Salt and Lemon Myrtle Hand Cream with the matching scent. This hand cream contains 11 essential plant-based ingredients including chamomile extract, argan oil, rosehip oil, avocado oil to give the hands an anti-ageing barrier and leave them soft, moisturised and protected, as well as help restore dry hands and condition the cuticles. The cream is thick and rich, but does absorb fairly quickly into the skin, and once it has you are left with the softest hands. And they smell absolutely divine, so good that I cannot stop smelling my hands after use.

This duo come packaged in a gorgeous white gift bag with the golden foil writing 'The Happiest Time of the Year' which makes it perfect as a gift too, for Xmas, as a hostess gift, or simply if you want to treat yourself.

MOTHER'S DAY GIFT IDEA: URBAN RITUELLE FLORUSH ORGANICS

Today I'd like to share with you a newly launched range from Urban Rituelle, the Flourish Organics, which is available in two blends Soothing Vanilla and Uplifting Lemongrass. I've put the Botanical Bounty Gift set from the Uplifting Lemongrass to the test, which would also make for the perfect Mother's Day Gift Idea..

As the name suggests, the products have been made with certified organic ingredients where possible, along with a blend of botanical extracts and pure essential oils. I also love that there are no added artificial colours, fragrances, mineral oils sulfates, parabens, or harsh chemicals.

I have to admit that I thought that these bottles were so nice and stylish that it was a shame to 'hide' them away in my shower in our ensuite for nobody but my husband and myself to see, so I decided to put them on full display in our downstairs powder room, and use the Hand & Body Wash solely as a hand wash, and the Hand & Body Lotion, solely as a hand lotion.

And oh have I been enjoying using them, and even my husband has been making comments to on how nice they are both to look at and use, something he otherwise rarely does.

The Hand wash gently cleanses the hands without drying them out, but still I like to use a small pump of hand lotion afterwards to ensure my hands do not dry out, and also to extend the beautiful lemongrass scent. It is so fresh and uplifting, and has just a touch of the ginseng lingering in the background. I know that I've mentioned this before, but citrus scents remain my favourite, and these products means that I enjoy washing my hands, also for the 100th during the day (the joy of two little kids both in nappies!), , although it also means that I cannot stop smelling my gorgeous scented hands after I've washed them and used the lotion. I also love that it is a very unisex scent, unlike many other scented soaps and lotions which often tend to be very floral.

What I Say:

If you are a regular reader you would have seen me declare my love to Urban Rituelle by now. I am for instance convinced that an Urban Rituelle diffuser helped sell our house last year!

I really love the fact that Urban Rituelle is an Australian brand and that the products are Australian made too.

Generally I just love burning scented candles. We have two large dogs that mainly live inside, and while they are washed frequently, needless to say that you probably can detect a bit of a dog smell in our house. I love our beautiful dogs, but I don’t like our house smelling of dogs, so consequently I burn scented candles to mask their smell. Plus not to mention the smell of what we had for dinner last night!!

The Urban Rituelle Romance Soy Candle is a limited edition candle that as the name suggests is all about awakening the romantic senses. The candle is the perfect candle to burn on Valentine’s Day, containing ingredients that have specifically chosen. It among others contain jasmine, musk and amber, which combined gives a warm slightly spicy sensuous and seductive scent that will continue to linger throughout the house for long after you’ve blown the candle out. In fact, you don’t even have to burn it to enjoy its beautiful scent.

I have to be honest and admit that I am not usually one for the smell of musk and amber, and would not normally pick a candle like this myself. But I am so surprised at how lovely the scent of the Romance Candle is. I think maybe it is because of the addition of the jasmine that it still has a fresh scent and isn’t too heavy or overwhelming that I’ve fallen for it too!

My husband, as most males, don’t usually like too floral or sweet smelling home fragrances, but as soon as he smelt the Romance Candle, he commented that it was really lovely, and very masculine too – which makes for a refreshing change. He is not normally the one to remind me to burn the candle at night, but since having this candle, he has reminded me several times. I suspect it is his subtle way of saying the really likes it!!

The candle has two wigs and burns is claimed to burn for more than 80hours – more than 3 days non-stop burning…. Not that you would ever burn a candle without supervision!

The candle comes in a large sturdy black glass bottle with a stunning silver, to seal in the candle and its scent – and it simply looks so stylish and modern, and a perfect match for my home! It also comes in a gorgeous black box with silver edges and writing, and again, it is so stylish that you don’t even have to wrap it if you intend to use it as a gift. I would certainly be very pleased to receive one – I just wish it wasn’t a limited edition candle, as I’ve really fallen in love with it!!

XMAS GIFT IDEA - URBAN RITUELLE MANDARIN, BASIL & LIME EQUILIBRIUM GIFT SET

Do you know that Xmas is less than 6 weeks away? Have you started thinking about presents yet? I have to admit that I have, well actually, the majority of mine are already done and dusted, as I either purchased them prior to, or during my recent trip to Europe and left them there, so that’s that side of the family done. If you follow with the Hand & Body Lotion, you not only get super soft skin from the light lotion that absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving it feeling greasy or tacky, but the beautiful scent also intensifies the scent so it stays on the skin even longer.

PRODUCT REVIEW: URBAN RITUELLE WEEKENDER COUNTRY GARDEN SOY CANDLE

We recently sold the house we built almost 6 years ago, and have just moved into a temporary house, while we are waiting for our new house to be built. While our ‘old’ house, wasn’t exactly new anymore, it was certainly a lot newer. Plus we were the only ones to have lived in the house so of course all the smells in the house, were our smells. The new house is a different story. It is an older house so who knows how many people have lived here over the years. And most recently, the occupants also had a dog. We have dogs too, two Labradors, and although they live inside, they are washed frequently, and we’ve always been told that our house didn’t smell of dog. But in spite of countless of hours of cleaning, we can continue to smell their down and smells, in particular each time we come home, ‘that’ smell is there. What I Say:

I have previously tried the Beachcomber Soothing Body Balm in Island Citrus from Urban Rituelle, which is so gorgeous, and not to mention the diffuser reeds, which I am convinced helped sell our house, so I was looking forward to also putting the Urban Rituelle Soy Candle to the test.

As I have mentioned in my previous reviews, I love the fact that Urban Rituelle is an Australian brand and that the products are Australian made too.

Another thing I love is how beautifully presented the Urban Rituelle products always are. The Weekender Country Garden Soy Candle comes in a beautiful green gift box, making it perfect as a gift, with no need for wrapping it.

 

 

The actual soy candle comes in a large sturdy white glass bottle with a simple timber lid, to seal in the candle and its scent.  

And as soon as you take off the timber lid, you can smell the gorgeous scent. Containing pear and sweet vanilla, you could be fooled into thinking that it is a sweet smelling scent, but that is far from the case. It is a lovely fresh and fruity scent, which is so exquisite and so uplifting and refreshing.

 

The actual candle has two wigs and burns is claimed to burn for more than 80hours – that’s more than 3 days non-stop burning…. Not that you would ever burn a candle without supervision! And while the candle, even without burning smells nice, and fills the room with the gorgeous scent – but hen when you start burning it, the scent releases even more, not only filling the room, but all adjoining rooms as well, a fragrance that lasts well beyond the candle has been blown out.

What I Like:

• Australian brand with Australian made products
• Simple yet stylish bottle
• Fresh and refreshing scent
• Strong and long lasting scent of high quality and which doesn’t smell chemical or artificial
• Well priced considering the high quality and how long it lasts

What I Don’t Like:

• Nothing - I love everything about this candle, and find it reasonably priced for a candle of such high quality.

Overall I am so in love with this fresh and natural citrus scent that flows through my house, and while I love burning scented candles, I do like that this permanently scents my home without having to constantly remember to blow out the candles when I leave the house. I will enjoy this over the coming months, and when it nears an end, I will definitely repurchase.

Xmas Gift Ideas – Part One

Christmas is almost upon us, in fact it is less than a month away – and well, if you are like me and celebrate Xmas on Christmas Eve, you'll have a day less… and I don’t know about you, but I always struggle finding presents for my family and friends, so I thought that I’d do a couple of posts on gift ideas.. So here are my first picks..

Those of you who read my blog regularly will know that I love love love the products from bhave. They are so amazing, and after just the first wash I can immediately tell the difference in the look and feel of my hair. It not only feels nicer and is easier to manage and style, it also looks healthier and shinier.

I have only just recently discovered the Sanctuary Spa products, including the Youth Boosting Facial Warming Micro-Brasion Polish, Essentials Salt Scrub, and Crème Soufflé, and these products are absolutely amazing, so I am loving this gift pack as it is a fantastic way to trial some more of the products from the brand. The pack includes Body Wash (75ml), Body Scrub (50ml), Foaming Bath Soap (75ml), Body Lotion (75ml) and a Luxury Bath Float (75ml) – in other words, everything you’ll need for a pampering session at home. Urban Rituelle Shine So Bright Soy Wax Candle

 

This Christmas is going to be extra special for my little family. This is our baby boys first Christmas, although he will only be 6 months at the time, so too young to really make any sense of it all.

Product Review: Urban Rituelle Creativity Pink Grapefruit and Lime Zest Fragrance Diffuser

We recently put our house up for sale – when we started building it almost 7 years ago, we planned to stay for 5 years, but then I got pregnant and we decided to wait selling it until our little boy was born. But now it is simply time for a change…
And our house has now sold, and we have already looked at quite a few new houses, but not yet settled on one, which is stressing me out big time. But one of those things I hate when we go through houses for sale, is the smell of the people living there, what they had for dinner the night before and not to mention their pets. What I Say:

The actual diffuser comes in a large sturdy glass bottle with a decorative yet simple silver collar to hide the opening of the bottle. The bottle is sealed with a small clear plastic cap, which is very efficient at making sure there no leakages, but it is a little difficult to remove, so I had to enlist the help of a knife to wriggle it loose.

And as soon as I popped the reeds into the fragrance I could instantly smell the gorgeous and fresh fragrance, although the scent did intensify over the next few days as the fragrance absorbed into the reeds.

I absolutely love citrusy scents, it is my favourite scent, so this Creativity fragrance containing pink grapefruit and lime zest is just right up my alley, although I am not quite sure smelling it made me feel more creative!

The gorgeous scent immediately spread through the house – we have a rather large house, and even placing the diffuser in one end of the house, you could smell in the other end house as well, and as soon as you opened the front door.

Urban Rituelle claims that the diffuser will keep smelling gorgeous for a minimum of 4 to 6 months depending on air conditions and the frequency the reeds are turned, and so far after a month it is still going strong.

At one stage I placed the diffuser in our family room, and then I moved it upstairs on the landing near out bedroom, but unfortunately hubby is a little sensitive to strong fragrances as they give him bad hay fever, so I had to remove it and place it somewhere it was not too close to him. The diffuser ended up being placed in the downstairs powder room which is however very central in the house, and because the scent is still so strong, you can still smell it throughout the downstairs area.

But in saying that, I did use the diffuser with all the 8 reeds, and you can get a more subtle scent by using less reeds.

What I Like:

• Australian brand with Australian made products
• Simple yet stylish bottle
• Fresh and refreshing citrus scent
• Strong and long lasting scent of high quality and which doesn’t smell chemical or artificial
• Well priced considering the high quality and how long it lasts

What I Don’t Like:

• The clear plastic cap that seals the bottle can be tricky to remove

 

Overall I am so in love with this fresh and natural citrus scent that flows through my house, and while I love burning scented candles, I do like that this permanently scents my home without having to constantly remember to blow out the candles when I leave the house. I will enjoy this over the coming months, and when it nears an end, I will definitely repurchase.

Product Review: Urban Rituelle Beachcomber Soothing Body Balm in Island Citrus

I always moisturise my body when I’ve showered, not because I have particularly dry skin, but because I prefer my skin being moisturised and soft. And I love scented creams. I don’t use them every day, so when I do it feels more special and luxurious. Here are my thoughts on the Urban Rituelle Beachcomber Soothing Body Balm in Island Citrus;

What I Say:

This is the first time trying a product from Urban Rituelle, and I was happy to discover that Urban Rituelle is Australian owned and the bath & body care products are made in Sydney, Australia.

Soothing Body Balm comes in a box with tropical design, and inside there is a 200ml tube, also with a cute tropical design that looks gorgeous on the bathroom shelf. I love that it can stand on the lid, so that you can use every last drop of the product.

The body lotion has a lovely summery citrus scent, which I absolutely love - citrus scented products have always been my absolute favourites. And I love that the body balm leaves my skin nicely scented, without being too empowering, for quite some time after it has been absorbed into the skin. The scent is quite subtle and wont clash with your perfume, but still I do prefer to use it on the days that I am not wearing perfume.

The body balm absorbs quickly into the skin leaving it soft and moisturied, and I love the fact that this gorgeous smelling body lotion is jam-packed of vitamins and anti-oxidants. I find that it is so rare that a scented body lotion is sufficiently moisturising, - usually I end up having to use my normal un-scented moisturiser first, followed by the scented one, but not with the Urban Rituelle – my skin is left so soft and thoroughly moisturised!!! And did I mention that I love the citrus scent?!

Overall, this is a lovely scented body balm, it feels luxurious to use, has the most divine scent, and comes at a great price too. If you’re like me and love citrus scented products, then I highly recommend that you try it, you won’t regret it. I will definitely be purchasing it again, and look into other products from Urban Rituelle!
