PRODUCT REVIEW: FREEZEFRAME BODY BLUR, LIPOSLIM, BREAST ENHANCER AND INSTANT LASH EXTREME

Today I am going to talk a little more about the brand Freezeframe, an Australian brand that promises"clinical strength treatments & instant results. Some time ago I tested out a range of freezeframe products, to see if they really were a good alternative to Botox, if you missed it, you can see it here. 

PRODUCT REVIEW: MILK AND CO BODY SCRUB, INVIGORATE BODY LOTION AND HAND QUENCH

It has just been Australia Day, and as well as being blessed with a beautiful country, and more gorgeous sunny days than most other places, we have also been blessed with a multitude of amazing skincare brands. One of those is Milk & Co, which makes all the products locally from predominantly naturally derived, paraben free ingredients.

PRODUCT REVIEW: ROHR REMEDY DESERT LIME BODY MOISTURIER

Lately I've been enjoying using products that are more natural, so when the Rohr Remedy Australian Bush Medicines Desert Lime Body Moisturiser landed on my desk, I was naturally excited.

Firstly, I had never before heard of Rohr Remedy, but a little research quickly showed that the products, made in New Zealand by Australian natural ingredients are completely free from all the nasties, including parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, propylene glycol, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours, aluminium and silicones.
The products are instead made using ancient knowledge from the indigenous Australian people mixed with proven pharmaceutical formulas for effective skin care products, using only wild harvested Australian native ingredients rich in essential vitamins, and minerals, antioxidants, antibacterials and folates. All sounds pretty awesome to me!

The Rohr Remedy Australian Bush Medicines Desert Lime Body Moisturiser comes in a gorgeous dusty pale pink box with minimal writing, which I really love - but once I pull out the Body Moisturiser, I am even more impressed. I love understated simplicity, and this bottle has just that! It is a simple black plastic bottle with a black pump, and it has very limited writing on it, just the name and logo on the front, and very limited details on the back, all in white. Looks absolutely perfect in my monochrome bathroom!

But as they say, don't judge a book by its cover… so what's the actual moisturiser like. Well, it is made with dessert lime extract to assist the skin repair and revitalise itself with the high level of antioxidants including vitamin C from the Kakadu plum. it also contains Giant Kelp to help the skin retain hydration and softness. 

If you regularly tune into BLH, you'll know that I absolutely love citrus scented products, and this one is no exception, it as the most gorgeous and refreshing fruity scent from the dessert lime and the also added mandarin oil, and I love that this scent continues to linger on my skin.

The actual moisturiser has a nice consistency, but it is rich, so does take a few moments to absorb into the skin, but it is worth the wait, as it does leave the skin feeling soft and so smooth, and clearly intensely nourished, as there is never any need to reapply during the day. As it is so rich and moisturising, I have also found myself using it as a hand cream, in particularly at night before going to bed.

This is such a lovely moisturiser, both inside and out, and I can definitely see myself purchasing it again, as well as I'm keen to explore more products from the Rohr Remedy range.

PRODUCT REVIEW: THE GOAT SKINCARE

Today I'd like to share with you a new brand that I've just come across, The Goat Skincare.. 

It has been known for years, - in actual fact, Cleopatra was said to bathe in goats milk - for the pure reason that goats milk has a PH level very close to that of the human skin, and consequently it is super gentle, as well as it helps provide skin with natural moisture and hydration, which in turn may relieve your skin from from dryness, itchiness or irritations caused by sensitive skin conditions.

In addition, goats milk is also naturally enriched with lactic acid, which can help gently exfoliate the skin by breaking down dead skin cells, as well as contains higher levels of natural vitamins, minerals and proteins than in cows milk.

The products from The Goat Skincare further more guarantee that there are no parabens, sulphates or harsh chemicals in their products, which are made from pure and natural ingredients, sustainable palm oil and fresh, permeate free ethically farmed goats milk, from Victoria, Australia. Gotta love local companies too!

As the products are so gentle, it also means that they are suitable for everyone, including including newborns and pregnant women, and those with very sensitive skin types. I don't particularly have dry or sensitive skin, but my two boys do - so I've been using these products on our 3 year old, with great success.

The Goat Skincare Moisturising Wash comes in a huge 500ml pump bottle and the soap is perfect for gently cleansing his skin and hair, without any skin irritations. He loves that it lathers up into a gentle foam that he can then play with in the bathtub afterwards.

Also available from the range is soap bars in several varieties. We tried out The Goat Skincare Soap Bar with Chia Seed Oil and the one with Chamomile, and have been using them for his bath too. And while again, the soft foam gently cleanses his skin, in general I just find that soap bars are so messy, so much prefer the liquid variety these days.

After his bath, I've always made sure to add some additional moisture into his skin, following with The Goat Skincare Moisturising Lotion. This lotion also comes in a huge 500ml convenient pump bottle, and the actual lotion is very light in consistency, and absorbs quickly into the skin without any greasiness, leaving the skin very soft and with a velvety feel, and I can tell that the moisture is long-lasting as I don't feel the need to re-moisturise his skin again later in the day. The lotion leaves behind a gentle milky fragrance lingering on the skin, which is lovely and quite subtle, and also perfectly suitable for a little toddler - however, if I would ideally have seen the products also be fragrance free, and any added fragrance be from natural essential oils in stead.

The products are all well priced, and also feature the cutest drawing of a goat, which looks adorable in the kids bathroom too! There are several other products available in the range, including massive 1 litre bottles, shampoo and conditioner, as well as products with manuka honey and lemon myrtle, however, unfortunately, while the company website does provide detailed descriptions of ingredients of all products, it does not provide any details of benefits of the various products. 

That said, I have enjoyed using the products on my little boy, and can see myself repurchasing both the Moisturising Wash and Moisturising Lotion for him again in the future.

BRAND FOCUS: PALMER'S COCOA BUTTER FORMULA BODY CARE

Today I’d like to share with you the Body Care products from the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula range;

 

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Moisturising Cocoa Butter Body Wash*

 

This body wash contains pure cocoa butter and is so thick, rich and creamy and creates a thick soft lather, and it is so gentle on even the most sensitive of skin. And after the shower, the skin is left soft and smooth. And I love that t is free from sulfates and parabens, which is a rare thing for such an inexpensive product. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Cocoa Body Scrub*

This Body scrub contains natural crushed cocoa beans and is enriched with shea butter and vitamin E to ensure skin is moist. It contains just the right amount of scrubbing particles to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth, and without being too harsh or drying out the skin. Perfect to use before self-tanners. Has the typical Palmer’s cocoa scent. RRP: $9.99 (150g)

 

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Body Moisturiser*

The Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion is so thick and creamy and so moisturising so perfect for dry skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue. It contains cocoa butter and vitamin E, and smoothes marks and scars and tones skin. I also used this during my recent pregnancy to soothe itchy skin on my tummy, and afterwards to help with stretchmarks and get my skin back to normal again. It is paraben free and has the typical Palmer’s Cocoa scent, which lingers on the skin for some time. RRP: $7.40 (250ml)

 

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Fragrance Free Moisturiser

This is very similar to the original version as above, thick and creamy, and absorbs into the skin quickly leaving the skin soft and moisturised - only it is fragrance free as it has added  botanical extracts mask the natural cocoa butter fragrance. It is also paraben free, and of the two, I much prefer this unscented version, which I particularly like to use during winter when my skin feels drier. RRP: $7.40 (250ml)

 

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Anti-Ageing Smoothing Lotion

I love the fact that this body lotion contains anti-ageing ingredients, including cocoa butter with vitamin E to nourish the skin and alpha and beta hydroxy acids to exfoliate dry and dead skin cells to reveal healthier, more youthful looking skin also reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The body lotion instantly makes the skin feel softer, and over time, it helps prevent dry patches on shins, knees and even on feet, as well as it does help to minimise the appearance of marks and any scarring. Unfortunately it has a slightly strange scent that I am not overly fond of, however as I really love the effects, so I can certainly put up with the scent. RRP: $7.40 (250ml)

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Skin Therapy Oil

 

This intensely hydrating body oil contains vitamin E and cocoa butter and is enriched with rosehip oil. It very concentrated so you only need a little and it absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving even the driest of skin feeling soft and smooth. Over time, it also helps to improve the appearance of stretch marks, scars, uneven skin tone. And once you’re finished applying it to your skin, massage a little into your cuticles as well, as it works a treat for that too!

So there you go, a selection of great body products from Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula range, which all are fantastic products in their own right, and especially considering their budget price you just can’t go wrong. If you haven’t tried these products, I highly recommend that you do!

Product Review: FAB On-The-Go Skincare Essentials Kit

As I am writing this I am in a holiday house living with out of just one suitcase. We sold our house, and until we can move into the house where we will be living while building a new house, we had a gap of a few weeks – and so we rented a holiday house by the beach. Very frustrating, and not to mention very stressful having to move house twice in a month – but not trying to make the most of it and enjoy living so close to the beach. And of course, with two large dogs and a baby, it was limited how much stuff I could pack for myself to use for those couple of weeks, as we had to fit it all into two cars – and with the dogs taking up the boot in one car, and the pram, highchair and portacot the majority of the boot of the other car, there really wasn’t a lot of room left for my things. So to make sure my skincare routine didn’t go completely out the window, I purposely packed some smaller sample sized items. Here are my thoughts on the *FAB On-The-Go Skincare Essentials Kit;

 

What They Say:

What I Say:

I have never heard of FAB – but I love the abbreviation which stands for First Aid Beauty, how clever. But what I love even more is the fact that the all the FAB products are formulated without parabens, harsh chemicals or colourants. The products are allergy tested and fragrance free, and consequently they are recommended by dermatologists and are safe for even sensitive skin types.

The Face Cleanser is very mild cleanser designed to remove surface oils, skin toxins, make-up, dirt and grime. And just a tiny amount froths up nicely easily removing my makeup, - well except for my waterproof eye makeup – but that is to be expected, as not many face cleansers do, and consequently I always have a specific eye makeup remover at hand. And after rinsing my skin, it is left clean deep down every pore, and it is feeling soft without feeling stripped for moisture.

I follow with the Daily Face Cream which is a light-weight, oil free and non-comedogenic cream, suitable for combination and acne-prone skin – and therefore a perfect match to my skin, and especially now that it summer, where the hot and humid weather we’ve had lately has left my skin feeling greasier and more prone to breakouts. But this cream is perfect for summer use. The Light cream quickly absorbs into the skin, and leaving my skin thoroughly moisturised, but without my skin feeling greasy or drowning in moisture. My skin remains feeling soft throughout the day, although by the afternoon it is looking a little shiny, so it doesn’t not control oil production. But after using for a week, I am happy to say that it is not making my skin break out, which is the main thing. And it works perfectly under makeup too! The cream is intended as both day and night cream – and again, being restricted with luggage, this is perfect for a short period of time, but otherwise, my ageing skin is calling for a little more in the anti-ageing department, especially during the night. And considering the cream is also for daytime use, I would also have liked to see SPF included.

 

In the shower I use the Gentle Body Wash, which also is a gentle body wash, that when using a loofah froths up nicely into a soft foam, gently cleansing my skin, and easily removing all traces of greasy sunscreen, yet without drying out my skin. And because it is so gentle it is perfect to use after a day outside in the sun, where you skin may be a little irritated.

 

 

In spite of the Body Wash not drying out my skin, I always follow with a body lotion, and in this case, the FAB Body Moisturiser. It has a very light formula that absorbs into the skin very quickly, leaving the skin feeling incredibly soft and velvety smooth, and with no greasiness in sight. Dry areas of the skin, such as shins are thoroughly moisturised, and remains feeling and looking soft and healthy throughout the day, without the need to reapply the Body Moisturiser.

 

 

All the products come in very generous travel sizes, so you have sufficient products to last you quite a while. And the products all close tightly, as well as they come in a small clear travel bag, so they are safe to pop into either your suitcase of your gym bag, without having to worry about the products leaking.

 

 

All the products do not have added fragrance, although they still have a slight scent, no doubt coming from the added extracts used in the products. I cannot say that I am loving the scent of the products, but I do like that there is no added synthetic fragrance in the products and as this scent is very gentle and quickly fades once the products have absorbed into the skin, it certainly doesn’t bother me.

What I Like:

• Products are free from parabens, harsh chemicals, colourants and fragrances
• The products are suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin types
• The Face Cleanser and Body Wash gently cleanses my skin without drying it out
• The Daily Face Cream and Body Moisturiser absorbs instantly into the skin making the skin feel thoroughly moisturised and without leaving behind a greasy residue
• The Face Cream doesn’t make my skin break out
• Well priced for 4 large travel sized products

What I Don’t Like:

• While the products do not contain any fragrance, they still have a slight scent that I am not overly fond of
• The Face Cream doesn’t contain any SPF

Overall, I really enjoyed using these products from FAB during my holiday stay, and while my skin is not particularly sensitive, I love how gentle they feel on my skin, while still being so efficient. So if you have sensitive skin, or simply are looking for a great travel kit with products to take on your next holiday or to have in your gym bag, then I highly recommend that you try this On-The-Go Essentials Kit from FAB. The products truly are FAB!!

Product Review: Ultraceuticals Ultra Body Moisturiser

Today I’d like to share with you one of my newest discoveries, the *Ultraceuticals Ultra Body Moisturiser;

What I Say:

My skin on my body is not particularly dry during summer – actually, when the temperatures heat up, my skin seems to be getting greasier. Yet I never omit using a body moisturiser when I’ve had a shower, as if I do, I feel my skin becoming itchy. But sadly, many of the creams and lotions that I use on my body throughout the year, which are perfectly fine and not too heavy or greasy, suddenly become way too concentrated for my skin with the mercury strikes.

Enter the Ultraceuticals Ultra Body Moisturiser. Ultraceuticals is an Australian cosmeceutical brand founded by a cosmetic physician in 1998, with the goal of having scientifically proven products addressing ageing, pigmentation and acne. The products have been developed to include superior and highly effective ingredients to create the most efficient products possible without needing a prescription.

The moisturiser has been cleverly developed to support the skin’s natural moisturising, and it also contains shea butter and glycerine to help keep the skin moisturised. It absorbs into the skin instantly, leaving it feel so deeply moisturised, yet without making it feel greasy or tacky. My skin is simply silky soft and smooth.

The Body Moisturiser comes in a tube with a flip lid, making it easy to use, and being designed to stand on its lid, it is easy to use up every last drop of moisturiser as well.

It has a lovely and gentle floral scent, which however more or less fades as soon as the cream has absorbed into the skin.

After having used the Body Moisturiser daily for several weeks, my skin not only feels, it also looks healthier. Gone are the dry shins (the only part of my body that is usually dry), and even my decollate, which is starting to show the signs of ageing, looks so much nicer, with fine lines and wrinkles appearing to be plumped out.

What I Like:

• Absorbs instantly into the skin
• Non-greasy
• Has a lovely gentle floral scent
• Products are Australian owned and made

What I Don’t Like:

• A little pricey

Overall this is such a nice Body Moisturiser, and I love how it makes my skin feel and look. There is no denying that it is a little more expensive than then body moisturisers that I usually use, but I can certainly also tell the difference, so I wish my budget would allow for me to use this all the time. If you afford it, it is well worth the splurge!

I don’t have particularly dry skin body, thought I have to admit that it always gets a bit drier during winter, especially on my legs. And regardless much in a hurry I am, I always do my best to apply body lotion once I have showered. And even though it now officially spring, and my skin is already feeling and looking better as it is no longer as cold, now is the time to prep and prime the skin in time so the bare pins are ready to show off with shorts, skirts and dresses. And then there’s the topic of anti-ageing. I am at the age where I always use anti-ageing products in my face, so it would be about time to start using some on my body too. Here are my thoughts on the *Luminesce Essential Body Renewal;

What I Say:

Late last year I was offered to trial some products from Luminesce, but being pregnant, unfortunately I had to decline the offer as the products contained ingredients not safe during pregnancy – I had been looking forward to trialling the products, so I was quite disappointed when I realised I couldn’t, so I was quite excited to now be trialling the Luminesce Essential Body Renewal.

Luminesce Essential Body Renewal is not just a body lotion keeping the skin soft, subtle and thoroughly hydrated, it also helps to stimulate cellular renewal, containing contains potent antioxidant-containing botanicals to help protect your cells and encourage your body’s natural processes to produce more proteins like collagen and elastin.

So after now using it for a few weeks, did it live up to its claims?

The Essential Body Renewal is extremely moisturising, yet it is a light cream that absorbs quickly into the skin without making it feel greasy or sticky. And my skin is instantly left feeling incredibly silky soft and hydrated, a feeling that lasts all day, or actually until I shower again the next morning.

Having quite some pigmentation, especially on my chest area, I was also keen to see how it lived up to the claims of combatting photo-ageing. And in fact, as the pigmentation is of greater concern than dry skin, I decided to only use this luxurious cream on my upper body, and not waste it on my legs!!

And after about a month’s use of the cream, I do find that I can see some slight improvement in the pigmentation and brown spots on my chest area, although they are still quite visible – but as these are a result of decades in the sun, I also didn’t expect to see any miracles in just a month. Rather I think it requires not only continuous treatment, as well as avoiding exposing this area to the sun.

The body lotion has a gorgeous floral scent, which lingers around for a while even after it has been absorbed into the skin, but as it is such a beautiful scent, I don’t mind one bit. And I love that it does not contain any artificial fragrances, so the beautiful scent comes from the fruit extracts used in the cream. I also love the fact that it is silicone free and non-comedogenic

The cream comes in a stylish and luxurious looking silver tube with blue writing and a silver lid. And it’s not just any lid, as when you twist it a hole opens up, which disperses the cream. Simple yet so easy to use.

 

 

At $65.95 for 150ml this is not a cheap body cream, and it is certainly a lot pricier than what I would normally purchase. It is quite concentrated, and after using it on my upper body for about three weeks, I’d say that I have approximately used half the tube – so if you do like me, and skip using it on the legs, you should be able to get 6-8 weeks use out of the tube.

What I Like:

• The gorgeous scent, and that it doesn’t contain any artificial fragrances of colours
• That it contains a combination of natural fruit extracts and active anti-ageing ingredients
• That it is silicone free
• That all ingredients used as listed on the back of the tube

What I don’t Like:

• The price
• That it is only available for purchase from Luminesce online

Overall, this is an amazing body cream, and I love that it contains anti-again properties. As mentioned, I feel that I see a slight improvement in pigmentation after just a few weeks, so I am convinced that continuous use would give some amazing results. If you can afford to buy it, you won’t be disappointed.

Product Review: Clarins Eau Ensoleillante Sunshine Fragrance

I love perfumes. Especially light, summery and citrusy scents, so I was excited when I was asked to trial the *Clarins Sunshine Fragrance. Here are my thoughts;

What They Say:

"Radiant, Refreshing, Spirited, the Clarins Sunshine Fragrance has captured the scent of the sun. Uplifting and sparkling, it combines aromaphyto benefits, aromatic essential oils and plant extracts to make you feel happy, feel radiant and feel spirited...all year long. Feel happy, feel radiant, feel spirited!"

What I Say:

The fragrance comes in a round bright orange bottle, which is simple, yet very modern and stylish too, and just seeing this bright orange bottle makes me think of summer.

The Sunshine Fragrance is not new as it was launched in 2007, but regardless it is still a best-seller. The top notes in the fragrance contain sicilian mandarin, grapefruit, watermelon and bergamot, while the middle notes are mimose, chamomile, ylang-ylang and carnation. The base notes are tonka bean, patchouli, lime (linden blossom) and osmanthus.

Similar to other Clarins fragrances, the Sunshine Fragrance is a treatment fragrance combining the fragrant benefits of essential oils with the skincare benefits of natural, unscented plant extracts to provide soothing and moisturising benefits. In fact, it contains essential oils to help "awaken the happy high-spirited sensations of summer, even in the depths of winter".

The actual scent is very light, but warm floral scent, as well as there is a hint of the citrus from the grapefruit and mandarin. As it is very light, it is perfect for daytime use, especially during spring and summer. Because the fragrance is so light, I have heard some say that it doesn’t last long, but regardless I can keep smelling it throughout the day, and at night my hubby also comments that I smell nice.

It feels lovely on the skin, and in spite of being a treatment fragrance, it doesn’t make the skin feel sticky or tacky. And actually, the fragrance is non-photosensitising, meaning that it doesn’t react with the sunlight and cause the skin to be more sensitive, burn and get damaged.

As for the claim of feeling "wakened and happy", I am not too sure it really makes any difference to my mood and well being. I have always preferred spring, so enjoy this time of year when everything comes to life again, so I automatically feel more awake and happy!

What I Like:

• The bright energetic orange bottle
• The light fresh citrus scent
• That it treats both my skin and my senses at the same time
• The price – at $30 it is a good price for a quality perfume-treatment product
• That I can use it during summer without worrying that it may damage my skin

What I don’t Like

• I like everything about this fragrance, though I would have liked it to have a stronger citrus scent.

All in all, this is a lovely fragrance, and being a lover of anything citrus scented, I was sold the minute I heard it contained grapefruit and mandarin, although I would have liked this component to be slightly more dominant. I will enjoy using this throughout spring and summer, and if you’re like me and like citrus scent, I am sure that you will enjoy the Sunshine Fragrance too!!

Product Review: Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion

I don’t have particularly dry skin, but still I never fail to moisture my body after I’ve had shower. I simply just don’t like the feel of my skin if I skip using a body lotion. Here are my thoughts on the *Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion;

 

What They Say:

"A naturally nourishing, non-greasy lotion with natural colloidal oatmeal and rich emollients to actively soothe and protect dry skin. Proven to moisturise the skin for 24 hours, increasing the skin's moisture level by three times within four hours. Fragrance free."

What I Say:

Lately I’ve been trying quite a few Aveeno products, including the Active NaturalsPositively Radiant Daily Moisturiser, Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, and Positively Radiant Night Cream, and as I’ve really loved using all of these, I was looking forward to and had high hopes for the Daily Moisturising Lotion as well.

This Daily Moisturising Lotion from Aveeno, claims to be non-greasy, yet to moisturise for 24 hours. Using after the shower, the creamy and lightweight lotion absorbs quickly, leaving the skin soft and moisturised, and not at all greasy or sticky. After just a few days of using, it has still done wonders to my skin, and the drier areas on my shins and feet now feel thoroughly moisturised and look so much better.

The cream absorbs very quickly, without leaving behind a sticky feeling, which I really do love, as I hate having to wait for a moisturiser to absorb before I can get dressed.

I love the fact that it comes with a pump – it is so hygienic, and easy to use. And as a little goes a long way, and unlike other moisturisers it is not necessary to apply moisturiser to dry areas again later in the day, as it truly does keep the skin moisturised for a long time – and this means that a bottle will last a very long time, so at $12.95 for a large 354ml bottle it is great value

 

 

I love the fact (and so does hubby) that this moisturiser is fragrance free, yet it still has a very pleasant smell. And being fragrance free it is suitable for even the most sensitive of skins. While I don’t have sensitive skin, it is great when I want to make sure that my body lotion does not clash with my perfume.

All in all this is a great and effective body lotion that is suitable for the whole family. I will definitely be repurchasing this!

Product Review: GAIA Pink Grapefruit & Jasmine Body Wash and Body Moisturiser

I love taking a shower and indulging in some amazing smelling products both while showering and the body lotion I use afterwards. I am lucky to have a large shower, with a very large shelf – but still it is jam-packed with numerous shower gels, as I like to swap and change depending on my mood in the morning. And my bathroom cabinet is as crowded with different types of body lotions. Here are my thoughts on the *GAIA Grapefruit & Jasmine Body Wash and Body Moisturiser;

What They Say:

Body Wash: "A glorious soap and sulphate free body wash that is gentle enough to use every day in the shower or bath without stripping your skin’s natural protective oils or creating dryness. Containing organic avocado oil and organic gingko biloba to nourish and rejuvenate, and organic chamomile extract to purify and soothe. These washes are an ideal soap replacement to care for your skin and leave it fresh, clean and silky soft."
Body Moisturiser: "A luxurious body moisturiser perfect for ‘locking in’ moisture after your shower or bath, or to hydrate and soften throughout the day. Made with skin-softening organic oils to help skin maintain its suppleness without leaving a greasy residue."

What I Say: 

I have recently trialled the GAIA Belly Oil, which I absolutely love, if you’ve missed my review, you can see it here. I have also recently trialled the GAIA Lavender & Frankincense Body Wash and Body Moisturiser, and the GAIA Skincare Bergamot & Sandelwood Facial Exfoliant, and these products are so amazing too.

Common for all the GAIA ranges, including their pregnancy and baby ranges are that they have been made without any of the ingredients known to irritate the skin or suspected of being harmful, so consequently the products do not contain any sulphates, petrochemicals, lanolin, paraben preservatives, propylene glycol, phthalates or artificial fragrances. And of course the company is Australian owned, and the products Australian made, without being tested on animals.

 

The Grapefruit & Jasmine Body Wash is furthermore free from soap, and contains organic extracts of ginkgo biloba, ginseng and chamomile to calm and revitalise tired, stressed skin, organic avocado, organic evening primrose and organic wheat germ oils to nourish and soften, even dry or flaky skin, as well as it contains Vitamin E and essential omega 3 good oils for healthy skin.
This is fantastic, as although I have never had particularly sensitive skin, while being pregnant my skin suddenly seems to have gotten more sensitive, and I get small itches and irritations if my skin doesn’t like the ingredients in the products or if they are too perfumed.

Soaps and body washes that do not contain soap, are often difficult to lather up, but this is not the case with the GAIA Body Washes. Used on its own it is easy to froth up into a nice light lather, while using a bath sponge creates even more foam.

Smoothing it over my skin, it feels soft, a little like a body oil is being used. And after the shower my skin feels soft and clean, and without being dried out or feeling tight. Rather it feels soft and smooth, although I still feel the need to follow with a body moisturiser (as I always do!).


While using the Body Wash a nice refreshing and uplifting scent of Grapefruit and Jasmine spreads through my bathroom. It is a very natural and very female scent, which is still quite subtle – yet still too female for my hubby’s liking, (and no complaints from me, as then I won’t have to share!). Once rinsed dried off from the shower, this scent more or less fades.

 

The GAIA Grapefruit & Jasmine Body Wash Body Moisturiser
Like the Body Wash, the Body Moisturiser of course free of all the chemical nasties, and it contains Enriched with organic rosehip, organic evening primrose and organic wheat germ oils to nourish and soften dry or flaky skin and reduce the visible signs of aging as well as organic calendula and organic ginseng extracts soothe irritation and revitalise the appearance of the skin for a youthful healthy glow. It also contains Vitamin E and essential omega 3 good oils for healthy skin

The Body Moisturiser has a nice light consistency which quickly absorbs into the skin, leaving the skin soft , smooth and thoroughly hydrated, yet without making the skin feel sticky.

Like the Body Wash it has a lovely refreshing scent of grapefruit and jasmine, which linger for a little longer. But it is such a lovely natural scent, which really like, so I don’t mind at all. In fact, I actually prefer this Grapefruit & Jasmine scent over the Lavender & Frankincense products that I recently tried (although don’t get me wrong, they were lovely too!)

After having used both products together for several weeks, I am happy to say that I feel that the Grapefruit & Jasmine products – like the Lavender & Frankincense products have helped soothe my irritated skin, without causing further irritations and have helped keep my skin soft and thoroughly moisturised.

Both the Body Wash and the Body Moisturiser come in simple frosted plastic bottles with a flip lid, which makes them easy to use, and both are very concentrated so a little goes a long way, making them great value for money at just $14.95 each. 

I really enjoy using the GAIA Body Wash and the Body Moisturiser, they are gentle and effective, and smell amazing too – and the fact that they do not contain any chemical nasties, just makes me like them even more! I will definitely be purchasing these products again in the future.
