PRODUCT REVIEW: INIKA FOUNDATION, ILLUMINISOR, MATTIFYING POWDER, BLUSH AND LIP & CHEEK CREAM

Today I'm going to talk about a brand that I've only come across recently, INIKA. The brand is Australian owned and all products are made using pure natural botanicals and minerals. In fact the products are certified organic too.

The INIKA Liquid Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid is the perfect foundation for your anti-ageing needs, as it helps provide intense moisture to the skin, while smoothing wrinkles, improving skin elasticity and help regenerate the cells - make up and anti-ageing skincare in one, how brilliant. The foundation is thick-ish, so on the downside you do have to work fast to blend it in, I prefer with a foundation brush for a more even result - but it is wroth it. It has a medium coverage, which I really like, as it easily covers all redness and pigmentation, but still leaves the skin looking very natural, with a even healthy glow. I also love that it has a matte finish, and even on my combination skin it stays put all day without going shiny or settling into fine lines.

Then there's the Baked Mineral Foundation, a powder foundation that has been baked on a terracotta tile in Tuscany Italy. Normally I am not a huge fan of powder foundation, as I feel that even on my combination skin, it gives a dry cakey look, but this one has me convinced otherwise. Used with a large kabuki brush, it is easy to apply, and it has a buildable coverage from just a light sheer coverage, up to almost full coverage, all while looking natural and silky smooth, and again with a nice radiant glow thanks to also containing light reflecting technology. I like setting it with a setting spray afterwards, but even without, it stays put all day, again without settling into fine lines or going shiny.

The Mineral Mattifying Powder is the ultimate powder for those of us with combination or oily skin types. The white powder is made from ultra fine minerals, and once applied to the skin with a brush, it immediately gives the skin a matte finish, that looks natural and not dried out - and while it is white, it is completely invisible on the skin. It can be used directly on bare, naked skin, or on top of foundation, both immediately after application to help set it, as well as extend the wear. But it can also be used throughout the day to take away any shine as it absorbs excess oil from the skin, and make the skin look more even too. Absolutely brilliant.

Next up is the Baked Mineral Illuminisor, which is a powder highligher that can be used anywhere you'd like a like a glow, from a highlighter on the cheeks, under the brow bones, or on the entire face and the décolleté. The powder has a pale peachy shade, which is perfect for my medium beige skin tone, and it gives the skin a radiant, yet very natural glowing sheen. The it is highly pigmented and the powder very fine, so you only need the tiniest amount, and it is so easy to apply and blend with a large brush. It can be used on its own or on top of your usual makeup for a healthy glow.

Alternatively, there's the Certified Organic Light Reflect Cream. This is a little tube of multi-purpose cream that can be used on the cheeks and under the brows, or above the cupids bow to highlight, but it can also be used on the eyes as a luminous eyeshadow, on its on or as a base for darker shades. The cream is super easy to apply and blend, and you only need the tiniest amount as it is so concentrated (but luckily the tube as a find nozzle so you can get just the amount needed without wastage. It has a pale pinky shade, and it contains gives the skin a lovely radiant glow, thanks to the added mica, that brightens the skin with a nice sheen, without being too shimmery or glittery.

For the cheeks, you cannot go past the Mineral Blush Puff Pot. This little pot contains loose blush powder, but thanks to a little puff attached on top of the pot, application is super easy. You simply apply the puff to the cheeks, to apply as much blush as desired, before blending. The blush is very pigmented, so you only need a little, but thankfully the puff does allow gradually building up the colour. The shade Pink Petal is a lovely medium dusty pink shade, that is very wearable, and it gives the cheeks a gorgeous blushed look with a nice glow. The lid of the blush pot has a little mirror in the lid, makes it perfect when you're on the go too.

Finally, there's the Lip & Cheek Cream, which is a 2-in-1 product that can be used to add a touch of tint to both lips and cheeks. The shade looks a little dark in the pot, but once applied, with either fingers or a brush, it gives the most natural and healthy flushed glow, with a touch of sheen. It is super easy to apply and blend and it stays put all day, while adding moisture to the skin, thanks to the added sweet almond oil and vitamin E.

All in all I really think the products from INIKA are absolutely fantastic. They come in stunning black packaging with gold writing, and I love that they are certified organic and do not contain any nasty fillers, toxins, fragrances or preservatives. They feel lovely to use, and make the skin look healthy and glowing too. I've enjoyed using all the products, so picking favourites is near impossible - but I do love the foundations and can see myself repurchasing when they're empty, but also loving the mattifying powder and the blushes. And there's so many more products in their range including lipsticks and eye shadows, and not to mention skincare!!
