I have very long and thick hair, and once upon a time, pre-kids, I always used to hair dry my hair before going to work in the mornings - but today, now that I am home with two toddler boys, I often do not have the time to spend forever drying my hair, so I often leave it to dry naturally, which has clearly benefitted the state of my hair, though I personally do prefer the look and feel of it when its been hair dried.

However, using the right tools, will not only help cut down the time it takes to dry your hair, it will also help protect your hair during styling. And lately, I've been enjoying the new Parlux Advance Light Ceramic and Ionic Hair Dryer, which now comes in some cool new colours including fluorescent orange and vibrant green, which are seriously stunning, and such a refreshing change from your usual black hair stylers. I tried the fluorescent orange, or 'council-worker orange' as someone referred it as - and it is seriously such a fun and bright shade.

The Parlux Advance Light Ionic and Ceramic Hair Dryer is very powerful with its massive 2200W, and hence helps speed up drying time, but it also have heaps more professional features, including;

Parlux is also known as the hair dryer used by the professionals in hair salons around the world, and now I understand why, as this Italian made hair dryer, really is incredible. It not only looks amazing, but its design means that it is easy to hold, even for a small female hand, plus it is also so light and easy to hold, and it makes drying and styling my long hair so much easier, thanks to its power and speed. And the fact that it dries the hair so much faster, also means that my hair is exposed to the heat for a shorter period of time, so I am not only saving time, it is also better for the hair. In addition, the ceramic and ionic technology helps infuse the hair with ions and consequently moisture, to ensure it stays silky smooth and free from frizz.

  

Compared to other hair dryers that I've used in the past, the Parlux is also a lot quieter, which is fantastic when I want to dry my hair when my two little boys are napping. I have previously heard of Parlux, but know I really understand all the hype, as it is seriously the best hair dryer that I've ever used. And if the neon-orange colour is not quite for you, don't fret, as Parlux has heaps of other cool colours, including among others white, grey, black, green, pink, purple and red.

PRODUCT REVIEW: POO-POURRI BEFORE-YOU-GO TOILET SPRAY FROM IGLAMOUR



I live in a house with three males. God help me. Ok, one is house- and toilet trained, one is toilet-training, and one still in nappies. - and well, especially no two has accidents as he tries to make to the toilet in time. And then there's the non-flushing. Ok, I admit, that's my fault as I've told him to leave it for now, as he tends to hold the button down, wasting litres upon litres of water. We'll get to that later. But all in all, it means that our toilet doesn't exactly smell all that great. But thankfully there's Poo-Pourri.

Yup, you read it correctly, Poo-Pourri. It is a Before-You-Go Toilet Spray that you spritz into the toilet bowl onto the water's surface before you go to o your thing.

As Poo Pourri puts it; "Nothing is worse than stinking up the toilet at work, or at a party, or your lover’s apartment. Flushing removes the graphic evidence but what about that subtle scent of a 300-cow dairy farm? How do you make the world believe your poop doesn’t stink? Poo-Pourri! Simply spritz Poo-Pourri in the bowl to create a film on the water’s surface that actually traps the odours, so all those around you smell a refreshing bouquet of essential oils. Yes, it is a real product! And yes, it really works! Poo-Pourri, it’s our business to make it smell like your business never happened. " Hehehe, how funny is that. 

Poo-Pourri also says that they "care about your health, your toilet, and this precious world we poop in", and their products are therefore free from synthetic fragrance, parabens, phthalates, aerosols, or alcohol — "just ALL stink-fightin’ good stuff (oh, and a pinch of magic)."
We put a few different versions to the test, including;

Call of the Wild - a mix blend of wild ruby red grapefruit essential oils
Original Citrus - a mix of lemon, bergamot, and lemongrass essential oils
Royal Flush - a mix of eucalyptus, and spearmint essential oils
Ship Happens - a mix of coconut, freesia, and citrus essential oils

Don't you just love names, just brilliant. As a lover of anything citrus scented, needless to say that I love the Original Citrus scent, but the Ship Happens is a close second.

The bottles may look small, but there's sufficient for about 100 uses, but they are also small enough to pop into the handbag, or keep in your drawer at work, but they are also available in larger sizes.

I really love the idea of these, as they really do work, making 'it' a more pleasant experience. But I also love fun way the brand has marketed these, their YouTube videos are worth checking out as they are hilarious. And the writing on the individual bottles is also so fun.. For instance one bottle says;

"There once was a diva named Britt, whose odour she'd rather omit. She spritzed the bowl, now she's in control, an she fiercely owns her own sit".
 

The bottles also have a clear indicator on the sides so you can see how much is left, and it for instance has the words "Stay in control. A true diva always keeps her fierce-tank full". And as the bottle is also recyclable it also says that " hope I come back as stilettos" LOL. But the writing on each bottle is different, and so fun. Definitely worth checking out.

PRODUCT REVIEW: TREACLEMOON BATH AND SHOWER GEL, HAND AND BODY LOTION AND BODY BUTTER

Today I'm going to talk about a UK brand, Treaclemoon, which has been around for a while, but has just arrived in Australia. Treaclemoon makes a beautiful selection of Bath, Shower and Body with delicious scents. 

The Treaclemoon Bath & Shower Gels come in a large selection of scents including Iced Strawberry Dream, The Raspberry Kiss, My Coconut Island, Dusted Cocoa Heaven, One Ginger Morning - and I tried the Those Lemonade Days, Warm Apple Pie Hugs, and That Vanilla Moment.

 

The shower gels come in a large 500ml clear bottles that show the brightly coloured shower gel. The bottles have a flip lid on them, and as the only negative, I would have loved to see them come with a pump, especially considering their large size. The bottles have quirky and funny texts on them, which I think is really cute - you find things like this on the Warm Apple Pie Hugs bottle "memories of a cozy kitchen where sunlight danced and played… it felt like the whole world was cocooned in glorious apple pie heavenliness".

 

The actual shower gel has a nice consistency, not so runny that you waste half as it runs out of your hands, and not so thick that it feels like a lump on your skin, but just right! They create a lovely soft lather, especially if used with a loofah, and the scents are just gorgeous and so fresh, and without being too overpowering or sickly sweet. They gently cleanse the skin, and without drying it out too, something fragranced shower gels often do. And I love how the scents continue to linger in both my bathroom and on my skin after each shower.

 

• The Warm Apple Pie Hugs is a peachy-pink bottle and it smells like fresh apples mixed with vanilla, just delish!
• The Vanilla Moment is a pale peach bottle and it smells like vanilla
• The Those Lemonade Days is a yellow bottle and it has a refreshing citrus scent

 

Of the three, my favourite is without a doubt the Those Lemonade Days, but only because I've got a thing for citrus scents, so it really hits the notes, but the other scents are lovely too.

 

Then there's the Treaclemoon The Raspberry Kiss Hand & Body Lotion, which is a also a clear bottle, showing the pink body lotion. The lotion has a light consistency and absorbs quickly and easily into the skin without greasiness, and does leave the skin feeling soft and smooth, and with the scent lingering behind. This works great for my normal skin, and also throughout the day on my hands, although if my hands are dry, I do find I need something richer. I like that this comes in a pump bottle as it makes so much easier to use.

 

And when you do need something Treaclemoon Body Butter is perfect. I also tried it in the Raspberry Kiss, which only has an every so faint pink colour. The scent is the same as the Hand & Body Lotion, though I don't find it quite as strong, which I actually prefer. It comes in a tub with a pink label, and the actual moisturiser is thick and creamy, and really good for those dry legs. Considering its thicker consistency, it absorbs surprisingly quickly into the skin without any greasiness or tackiness. I've personally like using the Body lotion on my upper body, and the Body Butter on my legs, as they seem a little more moisture.

  

The products are also very well priced, and even more so when you consider the super-sized bottles, and the bright colours look great in the bathroom too.

And actually the shower gels have won awards overseas for best budget shower gels, which goes to show how lovely they are!!

So overall these are really lovely products, and I love their fresh scents - though again my fave without a doubt was the Those Lemonade Days, simply due to its zesty and uplifting scent - but that said the other scents were lovely too, and with so many different scents, there's something for everyone and every preference. I certainly can certainly see myself purchasing the Lemonade Shower Gel and a few other products in that range, as well as I wouldn’t mind putting a few more different scents to the test as well..
