PLAYGRO GIVEAWAY

As you are probably aware my little 13 month old boy, Oliver, is an official toy tester for Playgro, and has so far had the opportunity to trial some amazing toys including the Stacking Fun Cups, the Rock 'n' Stack Stacking Rings, Grip 'n' Stack Soft Blocks and the Bathtime Squirtees.

And while he still loves all the different toys, the Bathtime Squirtees remain the absolute favourite both in the bath, but also when he is generally playing in the playpen, in the highchair, in the car seat, or for entertainment distraction while we’re changing a nappy.

TOY TESTER REVIEW: PLAYGRO ROCK 'N' STACK STACKING RINGS

My little baby boy is no longer a baby, he turned 1 on Friday, so he is now officially a toddler, although he will of course always be Mummy’s little baby boy. Anyway, as you know he is an official Playgro toy tester, and here’s his review on the *Playgro Rock 'n' Stack Stacking Rings;

 


What They Say:

A rainbow of five teeth-able rings fit over a cone with a rocking base. Baby can sort and stack the rings, then bat at the base to watch it rock back and forth. Playgro's textured stacking rings are an essential for baby. Their vibrant colours and fun design make them perfect for playtime.

My new toy tester job has me now playing with Playgro Rock 'n' Stack Stacking Rings, and if you haven’t already, make sure you’ve checked out other Playgro reviews of the Bathtime Squirtees, Stacking Fun Cups, and Grip ‘n’ StackSoft Blocks.




I got very excited when Mum gave the Playgro Rock 'n' Stack, as I really like the bright colours, and I immediately had to knock the tower down and pull the rings off.


 
 
Mum and Dad have showed me to get the rings back on the spike, and I do my best to do it myself too, although sometimes I get the size order wrong and they won’t all fit. But it is all benefiting my cognitive skills, encouraging me to think, and learn how to do it myself.


 

The rings have a good size and thickness and are very light too, so even though I still only have small hands, they are easy to pick up.





I also like that the rings have different textures, where some have small dimples, others rings, and some are completely smooth, which helps with my tactile development and my fine motor skills, also teaching me to use my hands and fingers when I reach for them.


 

The brightly coloured ring help stimulate my visual perception. The stacking rings is a very simple toy, yet it is very good for my early educational teaching of the understanding of colour, size and shape, as well as hand-eye coordination and creativity.


 

I like crawling and walking around with a donut in each hand – yeah, Mum calls the rings for donuts, I don’t really know why as she hates donuts, so poor little me will probably not get to taste one until I turn 21!
 



According to Playgro, these blocks are suitable from 9 months, but I still enjoy playing with them although I’m one now, and I also think that someone at 4-6 months of age would have just as much fun playing with them.





 
I definitely recommend the Playgro Rock 'n' Stack Stacking Rings, as they are heaps of fun to play with, and Mum says that at just $6, they are a fantastic bargain too!

TOY TESTER REVIEW: PLAYGRO GRIP 'N' STACK SOFT BLOCKS

As you may have seen in my previous posts, my little 1 year boy (it was his birthday Friday, how time as flown!) has been selected to be an official Playgro toy tester, and here’s his third review on the *Playgro Grip 'n' Stack Soft Blocks;





What They Say:
Entertain baby with this fun set of stackable soft blocks. Each block offers a unique feature from a rattle to a bell and crinkle sounds for auditory stimulation. Whilst silky ribbons and peek-a-boo flaps are great for developing fine motor skills. Each pack contains four blocks that are ideal for stacking up and knocking down!

What Oliver Says:
My third toy tester job has me now playing with Playgro Grip 'n' Stack Soft Blocks, and if you haven’t already, make sure you’ve checked out first review of the Playgro Bathtime Squirtees, or the second review of the Stacking Fun Cups.

When Mum gave the Playgro Grip 'n' Stack Soft Blocks I was instantly drawn to the bright colours and the cute animals printed on the different sides of the blocks. I like to try to stack the blocks up myself, although I sometimes miss – and I love when Mum or Dad does it for me, so I see them all fall down when I knock them all down.

The blocks have a good size, and even though I still only have small hands, they are easy to pick up, also thanks to the little edge around the block.

I love that each cube is different, and there is two animals on each of them. One has a lion and a turtle, one has a zebra and an elephant, and there’s a giraffe  and a panda on one and a hedgehog and a duck on the last one.




There is also a number from 1 to 4 on each of them. On another side there is a letter on the alphabet, so there is an A on one block, and a B on another one and so forth.




There are also different shapes on the different blocks, so one has a star, while another has a square, one has a triangle and the last one a circle. This is all very educational, and will help me one day remember all the new words.
 



Each of the blocks have different features, and thee of them have bells inside, but they all sound slightly different, and the last one has a crinkle sound, so they all stimulate my auditory development.



 
Some of the blocks also have 3D features, as the lion has ribbon tags as its mane, the giraffe ribbon tags with knots as its horns, and the elephant has a ‘fabric flab’ as its ears, that all help keep me engaged and entertained, and stimulate my tactile development and my fine motor skills as I use my hands and fingers to grab the small items.




And of course, there is also always the Playgro manufacture tag on one of the blocks – and I love those tags, I can spend forever flicking through it like a little book – which Mum thinks is great as it helps make my little fingers work and help also develop my find motor skills, while I build up strength in my hands from grabbing the blocks. I like having one in each hand, and one in my mouth too, as I think they may help (or maybe distract me a little) when my teething gums are sore.



According to Playgro, these blocks are suitable from 9 months, but I still enjoy playing with them although I’m almost one, and I also think that someone at 4-6 months of age would have just as much fun playing with them.



A lot of my toys are quite noisy and have music, so Mum and Dad also loves that these are fairly quiet when I play with them – and they also love that blocks do not make any more dents and scratches on the coffee table than what I’ve already managed to do with my other toys.

The blocks are also washable, which is great, as when I’ve had them in my mouth for a while they do tend to get a little grotty.

I definitely recommend the Playgro Grip 'n' Stack Soft Blocks, as they will keep you entertained over and over.

TOY TESTER REVIEW: PLAYGRO STACKING FUN CUPS

As you may have seen in my previous post, my little soon to be 1 year boy has been selected to be an official Playgro toy tester, and here’s his second review on the *Playgro Stacking Cups;





What They Say:
Stack them up and knock them down! Little ones will be entertained for hours with these great stacking cups; perfect for the bath, pool, beach or general play time. There are 9 brightly coloured stacking cups, each with a different pattern embossed into the side of the cup in a matte and shiny texture. Each cup also has a different animal character etched into the base of the cup, which acts as a stamp - great for in the sand at the beach!

What Oliver Says:
My second toy tester job has me now playing with Stacking Fun Cups, if you didn’t see my first review of the Playgro Bathtime Squirtees, make sure you check it out here.

Mum gave the Playgro Stacking Fun Cups to me when I was crawling around and as soon as I saw the bright colours I was interested. I really love being able to try to stack things but I enjoy even more making a mess and I can knock these, push them and hit them with other toys and they scatter everywhere. I do find it a little difficult to get them back into a neat stack, but mum or dad is there to help me with this. Of all of the cups, I especially like the two small ones, they are always the ones I try to find first. I’m a big boy now, almost one, so I like playing with small toys!


 

The Stacking Cups are recommended for babies from 9 months, but even though I am bit older, I still have heaps of fun with them. The cups are nice and smooth and this is great as I like to put them in my mouth, I can crawl with them in my hands as I like having things in my hands as I get around the house. Mum showed me that there are animal shapes on the bottoms, so I am learning names like Seahorse, Crocodile, fish and many others. There are holes in the bottom as well so I have thought about these can also come to the bath with me, or when the weather was better we could take them to the beach too.
 



Mum likes that the Stacking Cups have been designed so that they can help me develop new skills, including my cognitive skills as encouraging me to think, learn and problem solve as I try to stack the different sized cups.
 



The bright colours stimulate my visual perception, while the various textures to help stimulate my tactile development, and the small animals helps me use my hands & fingers by encouraging small, precise movements by picking them up and stacking them and banging them together. The cups also help my gross motor skills inspiring me to use and control my larger muscles for movement when I crawl or reach for a cup that’s rolled away from me.


 

I definitely recommend the Playgro Stacking Cups, and I cannot believe that they are only $4 – such a bargain for a toy that will bring me hours and hours of fun.

TOY TESTER REVIEW: PLAYGRO BATHTIME SQUIRTEES

As you may have seen in my previous post, my little soon to be 1 year boy has been selected to be an official Playgro toy tester, and here’s his first review on the Playgro Bathtime Squirtees;

I was so excited when Mum told me that I’d been selected as a toy tester, what an awesome first job! And you should have heard me squeal and seen the smile on my face when I saw all the toys arrive.

The first toys that Mum had me test out were the Bathtime Squirtees, - yay!! I love bathtime, and has since the day I was born, and since I was very little I’ve had some yellow rubber duckies that I’ve had heaps of fun with in the bath, so I was so excited to see some new and different toys.
 
I was so excited about my new toys, but just couldn't
wait playing with them until I was having a bath...

Which one to play with...they are all so cute?
 

The Playgro Bathtime Squirtees come in a little clear travel case, so they are easy to store and take with you without losing any of them. And the set contains 8 squirtees, consisting of 2 x blue crabs, 2 x light blue whales, 2 x green turtles and 2 x light green frogs.

All the animals float in water, except when they are filled with water, and they can squirt the water out of their mouth – at great joy for both me and Daddy. They BPA free, which Mum says is a good thing, and as they are so soft, they are perfect for my irritated and sore teething gums.

Of all the animals, I prefer the blue crabs, although I like playing with all of them, and I like having one in each hand, and a third one in my mouth – and the rest of them not to far away – if they are not all in the bath with me, I will try to stand up and get them myself, but Mum says I can’t do that as I might slip, so I usually have all of them with me in the water from the start.

The Bathtime Squirtees are recommended for babies from 6 months, but even though I am a big boy now and almost 1 year old, I still have heaps of fun with them, and while I have always loved bathtime, I love it even more now, and usually don’t want to get out of the water, even when Mum says its time and my feet and fingers are all wrinkled up.
 
Now I love bathtime even more thanks to my new
Playgro Bathtime Squirtees
 
Mum also likes that the Squirtees have been designed so that they can help me develop new skills. PLAYGRO TOY TESTER

Something new is coming to the Beauty  Lifestyle Hunter… in spite of the name of my blog, the contents has long been focused on beauty products – and while this is still going to be my main focus, I thought that I’d start to spread my wings a little and actually start featuring some lifestyle contents….





So…. It is with joy that I can announce that my little 11 month old boy have been selected to be official Playgro Toy Tester – and well, I have promised him to help him express his thoughts and write his reviews..
 
 

The first parcel of toys carefully selected to be suited to his age arrived the other day, and included;
