And just like that, the long summer holidays are over. Later this week my big boy is stating grade 1 in school and little brother is starting kindergarten. How time has flown. And needless to say that there is a lot of excitement in the house. And for this mummy it also means back to having to make up lunch boxes five days a week, and this year, days where I have to prepare two of them. And well we all know what kids are like - it is not just about what food is in their lunchboxes, it is equally important how it is all packaged - but thankfully thanks to Smash Enterprises and Coles, we are all off to a great start with a cool new selection of lunch boxes.

For kids it, drinking from from a cool bottle or eating from a novelty bottle, can mean the absolute world, whether it is at home, at kinder or in school. And we have always loved the products from Smash Enterprises. And now they’ve got a new range out, which is available exclusively from Woolworths. Actually, there are two ranges, a pink/purple unicorn range for the girls, and a blue/turquoise dinosaur one for the boys, which I’ll talk about below.

My big boy has just started school, and at that age, more than ever, it is important that the children learn that it is ok to be different, and to accept and understand that. And the new book written by Roxy Jacenko and her daughter, Pixi Curtis, Penelope's Playground* is the perfect story book to read out to children, and help them understand how important it is to be kind to each other, regardless of how you look.

Just two more weeks to go now and school is back. And at our house, there’s excitement this year for our 5 year old who is starting prep. And along with the school uniform, it wouldn’t be a school start without a trip to Smiggle, which as always is loaded with super cool stuff the kids will love.
