PRODUCT REVIEW: SALVATOS FOLDABLE THONGS
I think we've all tried it... Been out wearing our tallest heels, and by the end of the night, the feet are so sore, that you end up walking barefoot with the heels in hand through the city home. Or perhaps gone out for a pedicure, but wearing closed shoes, and immediately stuffing up the freshly painted toes as soon as you put on those shoes. Or, I also personally am not fond of driving in my high heels, not that I cannot do it, but I hate how doing so marks up the back of the heel and shoe, and not looking very nice. Regardless of the situation, the Salvatos Foldable Thongs are your ultimate saviour...
You see, the Salvatos are a range of very unique patented, foldable and portable thongs that comes in a little nifty silicon pouch for easy storage, and the thongs simply fold in half, the only take up half the room in your handbag - plus, as you fold them, thus covering up the sole, it also means that it is more hygienic and cleaner popping them into the handbag.
The Salvatos thongs have a rubber strap but the soles are made from EVA, which is a man-made, eco-friendly, light weight and flexible material, that is also non-toxic, shock absorbing and very durable - so durable that it has proven to stay in tact fold after fold, so no need to worry that your thongs will break in half!
I have put the Melbourne Black pair to the test, which is an all black pair, apart from the white Salvatos logos on the straps - simple and elegant, and goes with everything, even that LBD!! And I have to say that they are comfortable even at this time of the year... And when I say that, I am surely also not the only one who's feet struggle the first few times in the start of the new spring and summer season that you pop your feet into thongs... Mine are so sore each time, until my feet yet again get used to that starp between the toes. But not with the Salvatos, as the rubber strap is soft and comfortable, so I've managed to wear them for longer periods of time, without any irritation at all.
At the moment mine are 'living' in my car, so they are always there when I need them, but I know that once we move to warmer (read sandal weather), they ill increasingly find a place in my handbag when I go out.

PRODUCT REVIEW: THE SAK PAX LEATHER CROSSBODY HANDBAG
Having two toddlers I have long been used to carting around a huge, and not particular feminine nappy bag. So when I am out on my own, I do love a great handbag, and lately I've been using nothing but this stunner from The Sak.
If you have not heard of The Sak before, it is one of the USA’s largest handbag companies that have been around for over two decades, and today are sold in over 850 speciality stores across 24 countries – including Australia, talk about a global success.
The Sak has a simple philosophy, to be happy & free, I love that! And hence, the company and designers believe in peace and harmony, and they interweave this into their handbags styles and designs. The Sak handbags are made from a combination of hand-crocheted and casual leather bags and mini bags. In addition, The Sak also makes some accessories, including stunning jewellery.
I have been loving The Sak handbag in the Pax Crossbody model, in the colour slate. This handbag is such a versatile handbag as it has a long strap so you can use it crossbody (and have your hands free, which is a lifesaver when you do have little kids with you!!), and you can alter the strap to make it shorter or longer to fit your need. But what's even better, is that you can actually also remove this strap, and fold the handbag over, so it turns into a clutch, and within seconds the handbag takes you from daytime to a night out.
The handbag is made from the softest leather and measures 30.4cm in height, and 27.9cm in length, while it is 5cm wide, so it can hold a fair bit, besides the usual purse, mobile and keys (and in my case, a large selection of lipsticks to suit my changing moods!!)
The handbag has a gorgeous printed cotton lining, and also has several internal, as well as one external zipper pocket to make organising your thing so easy.
I also love all the details of the handbag, from the beautiful stitching at the bottom, the little letter tag to pull the front zipper and the tassel with the The Sak logo, which has a modern, yet raw edge. And the colour Slate, is a beautiful and very functional dark grey colour too that is perfect to use throughout the year.
I am really impressed with this handbag. The design is not only nice, it is also of such high quality that it will literally last you forever, and you'll enjoy it each time you use it. I know that it has quickly become my favourite handbag - and I've already go my eyes set on a few other models. So if you're looking for a beautiful high-quality handbag, you really must check out The Sak, I know you won't regret it.

PRODUCT REVIEW: ZILPAH TART LOOP SCARF
It is no secret that I love simple things of good design. And when they are then in white, grey or black, or in any combination or monochrome design, then I'm sold. My house is black and white, I love black and white makeup packaging, and when it comes to my clothes, well, a lot of it is in those shades too. And hence why I so fell in love with the stunning Loop scarf by Zilpah Tart when it landed on my desk.
In case you have never heard of Zilpah Tart, I suggest that you check out her amazing designs, which, yes, also cater for those who love colours, as there are heaps of stunning brightly coloured designs in her collections too, which include among others dresses, jackets and scarves.
Zilpah Tart is an Australian fashion label by designer Yumi Morrissey, with the brand named after her late Grandmother, and even the logo of the brand comes from a 1940s brooch that belonged to Zilpah.
Zilpah Tart's designs are made for women who want to wear something unique and make them stand out from the crowd, and hence, Yumi designs her own unique fabric prints which are based on photograps she takes around Canberra.
The photographs are then manipulated in Photoshop to create a pattern and a repeat to be digitally printed onto fabric. Sometimes I’ll create a pattern, sometimes I’ll use the full image. I often change the colour of the background to enhance other colours within the focus of the image.
The result of this process is a truly beautiful, unique set of prints for each new collection. For Canberrans, Zilpah tart designs carry with them a special connection to the home and environment they love. And for women every where they are beautiful and vibrant, just what you need to brighten your day.
The garments are made locally in Yumi’s studio in Canberra, so you know you'll get a premium quality Australian made product.
I've been loving the Loop Scarf with the Winter Trees Print, which is based on a picture of naked was designed byf winter trees in Lennox gardens, Canberra. And it is absolutely stunning in its white, grey and black shades, and 'pattern' is nothing short of stunning. When you wear it, it looks more like an abstract design, but the fact that it is based on a picture of naked tress, makes it look even more stunning.
The scarf is 2 metres long, in a continuous loop, and it can be worn however you like in. in a long loop hanging down, or wrapped around as I've been liking it, but that's probably just because of the recent drop in temperature and the fact that I am always cold!
The scarf is made from a silky feel polyester, and it really is so soft to touch that you'd swear that it was made from silky. It looks amazing with a simple jumper or dress, and is even a fantastic way of dressing up a basic casual outfit.
I definitely recommend that you check out Zilpah Tart's designs, they are just incredible.

PRODUCT REVIEW: COOL CLUTCH PEARL CLUTCH
Today I've got something amazing to share with you… just look at this stunning pearl and diamante encrusted clutch. Isn't it just incredibly gorgeous? But it is more than just a stunning clutch that will be the talk of any party - you see, it is actually a cooler bag!! Yup, that's right, it’s a cool bag!!
All the clutches and handbags from Cool Clutch have the unique feature that they have a waterproof insulated lining that will help keep whatever you keep in your bag cool (or warm!). Some of the larger bags can hold a bottle of wine or even milk bottles for your baby - how brilliant is that! The Pearl Cool Clutch is a little too small for a bottle of wine or baby bottle, but probably could hold a hip flask if you should be so inclined… but personally I love that it simply helps prevent my makeup from melting when I'm out.
The clutch is hand stitched with hundreds of pearls and strips of diamantes’, and it is the perfect little clutch for a special event, such as the races, as it will simply complete any outfit. Sex and The City Arrives at the Fashion Capital
The other day I went to Chadstone shopping centre (which I
believe is the largest shopping centre here in the Southern Hemisphere), for a
little retail therapy.
And finally, of course, The Wedding:
Which dress was my favourite....well the Versace Couture dress is obviuosly gorgeous, but I also have a thing for the monochrome, so I really like Miranda's Maggy London dress..
The Sex & The City Exhibition will be at Chadstone Shopping Centre until 31st March 2013.
Although I was never a massive fan of the TV show, I did
enjoy watching the two movies so I thought I’d also take the opportunity to have
a look at the Sexy & The City Exhibition which was held in a large square in
the Luxury precinct around the shops
of Chanel, Burburry, Jimmy Choo, Gucci,
Louis Vuitton and Tiffany’s.
The Sex & The City Exhibition is a world exclusive exhibition, with the costumes
curated by the show’s own Academy Award nominated and Emmy Award winning
costume designer Patricia Field.
The exhibition
showcases 20 iconic outfits from Carrie’s voluminous Vivienne Westwood wedding,
Samantha’s slinky black CD Greene dress she
wore to Carrie’s rehearsal dinner, Charlotte’s Oscar de le Renta Mexico maxi
and Miranda’s amazing Julien Macdonald frock she donned at Stanford and
Anthony’s wedding.

The dresses were
certainly amazing. Although I was a little disappointed with Carrie’s wedding
dress…and to quote to women who stood next to me at the time "it looks like an
unmade bed"….LOL, what a funny comment. But in all honesty, while the dress
was obviously lovely, I personally did not think it was that nice, and worth
the more than likely huge fortune it is worth!
The Sex & The City Exhibition will be at Chadstone Shopping Centre until 31st March 2013.

Does PMS Makes You Splurge on Beauty Products…??
I read an interesting article in the *newspaper yesterday that I just had to share…Research
has shown that the menstrual cycle influences how much money women spend and
what they spend that money on. In the fertile phase of the cycle – around days
12 to 14 – apparently, us girls are more likely to spend money on things to "beautify"
ourselves such as cosmetics, hair products, clothes, shoes and jewellery!
In those days of the cycle women supposedly tend to wear sexier clothes, show more skin and spend more time and money on their appearance – simply because when women are ovulating and are maximally fertile, there is a premium for us to advertise ourselves on the mating market, and consequently then spent more time and money on beautifying ourselves!
After day 14, women are apparently also less likely to spend money on clothes, cosmetics and grooming, but rather the minds turn to food! – And in that period, we apparently start spending more time thinking about high-calorie foods and buying foods.

that occurs during the menstrual cycle – so if you are going on a diet or trying
to watch what you eat, or trying to stop impulse spending, being aware of your
monthly cycle is supposed to be able to help you plan a little better..
