XMAS TREATS FROM ALDI
I don't know about you, but I love ALDI. Ok, I've kind of grown up with ALDI as the stores were already in Denmark when I grew up decades, so I've been used to shopping there. And I must admit that I was happy when the stores started to pop up here in Australia some years ago.
What I personally love about ALDI is their food range, as it is simply different than any of the food that you can find in the Australian chains, and I love that I can find some of the brands that I've grown up with, and I also admit to stocking up on special items when they have their focus on certain countries.
And Xmas is no exception, and I love their food ranges, especially chocolates… If you're yet to taste any of the ALDI brands, let me tell you, the quality is premium, and if you as me, on par with some of the more 'well-known' brands, but what's more, is that they are a little more budget friendly too.
I am in particular in love with the Moser Roth Finest Chocolate Baubles, which are individually golden wrapped chocolate balls made from milk chocolate and filled with crunchy caramel pieces. They are so delicious and will look divine on a plate on your Xmas table too. There are several different varieties available and all have been made with UTZ Certified Cocoa and contain no artificial colours or flavours and no preservatives. RRP: $3.99 / 150g
Or there's the Specially Selected White Chocolate Flaked Belgian Truffles, which are individual pieces of white chocolate with a divine truffle centre, all made from a Belgian family recipe. I also love that these chocolates are made from UTZ Certified Cocoa, which means sustainable farming of cocoa with better opportunities for farmers and the planet. The box contains 6 quite large chocolates, and it comes wrapped in foil, so it would also make for a perfect hostess gift through the festive season. They are also available in milk and dark chocolate, and they are made in Belgium from with UTZ Certified Cocoa and contain no artificial colours or flavours and no preservatives. RRP: $4.99 / 150g
Finally, the Specially Selected Golden Champagne Christmas Pudding is a pudding made with a deluxe blend of vine fruits, almonds and pecans, with added cherry and Monsigny Premier Cru Champagne. It has been beautifully decorated with red and black cherries in a brandy syrup and it also comes with a sachet of edible gold glitter, so it will look incredibly festive on the table to. The pudding is a massive 900g and is more than sufficient for a family of 8. RRP: $9.99 / 900g

EASTER 2015 WITH CADBURY
I cannot believe that it is already Easter. Ok, Easter has come slightly early this year, but what happened to the first three months of the year! What happened to summer. It seems gone in a blink of an eye. But personally, while I prefer spring and summer, being pregnant, I have not enjoyed the hot summer days, so in that respect I’m happy to see the arrival of autumn, especially now that I’ve got just two months to go before the baby arrives! Another thing that I do look forward to is Easter. Not really because of any particular traditions as with my whole family living in Europe, we usually just have a low key Easter, and enjoy the long break, - but because I do love chocolate, and who can deny that there is just something special and magical about the Easter Eggs and Bunnies.
Cadbury already has a huge range of Easter confectionary, but this year Cadbury also has launched some new exciting products;
The Cadbury Marvellous Creations special Easter flavour have been relaunched, and are available in a combination of Popping Candy, Raspberry Chips and Beanies, all combined with signature dairy milk chocolate. These are sure to be a popular hit with young and old, and especially as you can get them in a bag with small eggs so there’s enough to go around. RRP. $4.69 (110g)
The Cadbury Dairy Milk Bunny is another one sure to be a success, and especially because this year it is available as both a boy and a girl. is back better than ever with the magical arrival of both a boy and girl themed bunny. Out little 21 month old boy already has his eyes on this Cadbury dairy milk chocolate bunny, but I think that it is just a tad too big for the little boy so he will just have to share with Mummy and Daddy!
And by the way, did you know that research has shown that when eating chocolate bunnies most people tend to eat the ears first, saving the feet until the end, while others bite indiscriminately. I personally start at the feet, leaving the cute head for last! How do you eat your Easter bunnies! RRP: $5.50
Next is the huge 420g Cadbury Old Gold Egg, which is also available in Dairy Milk, although the Old Gold is my personal favourite (so this one I’m not sharing!!) The egg comes in a clear box with a cute box and makes for the perfect Easter gift or hostess gift. And as it is so huge, there’s enough to go around for the whole family! RRP: $20 (420g)
Another new launch is the Cadbury Crème Egg Jar – a plastic shell shaped like a Crème Egg that contains a mix of delicious Cadbury Crème Eggs & Cadbury Dairy Milk, including a large hollow 25g milk chocolate egg, a share pack of Crème Egg minis (130g) as well as six Crème eggs (39g).
Another pack that is perfect for sharing, and personally I love the jar, which will come in handy to store chocolate for many Easters to come! RRP: $25.00
Finally there is the new Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt Pack. This pack contains everything you need to give your kids a magical Easter, and with all the work done for you. It contains two share packs of mini eggs, one with Dairy Milk Eggs (95g), and one with Caramello Eggs (95g). It also contains 4 hollow Dairy Milk Eggs (17g), three cute little Easter Egg Baskets for your kids to use when hunting eggs, as well as an activity booklet filled with ideas for Easter activities, chocolate recipes tips and tricks. Absolutely brilliant if you ask me! RRP: $12.00.
The Cadbury chocolate is available from leading supermarkets, discount department stores, independent grocery stores and petrol and convenience stores.
And don’t forget that if you live in Melbourne, the annual Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt and Family Picnic will take place at Werribee Mansion on Good Friday, April 3. The event will support the Good Friday Appeal, with Cadbury raising over $1million for the cause to date. Click here for more information

So there you go, a delicious and mouth-watering selection of Easter Eggs and Bunnies for Easter. Yet again Cadbury has outdone themselves and launched products that will appeal to everyone this Easter!

ALTER ECO ORGANIC CHOCOLATE
Being pregnant, I’ve given up on quite a few things. Red wine, blue cheese and brie are just some of the things not recommended during pregnancy, and in addition I have completely cut out coffee, which is a really tough one for someone who is otherwise a coffee addict. One thing that I however haven’t cut out is treating myself to a nice piece of chocolate every night. And my newest addicting is the chocolate from ALTER ECO...
ALTER ECO has just launched their new decadent Organic Sea Salt and Salted Caramel Truffles and new Dark Salted Burnt Caramel Bar, and let me tell you, they taste absolutely amazing!
The Dark Salted Burnt Caramel organic chocolate bar features dark Ecuadorian chocolate blended with a golden caramel of organic unrefined cane sugar, organic cream and heirloom butter, which gives a beautiful caramel crunch. Finally the chocolate bar has been sprinkled with sea salt.
The chocolate bar is made from 70% cocoa, giving it a nice rich slightly bitter taste. Dark chocolate is not normally known for being too sweet, which is why I guess I prefer dark chocolate. However, combined with the sweetness of the burnt caramel and the slightly salty taste, this combination is just to die for. With just 80g in the bar, it is smaller than most chocolate bars, however as the chocolate is so rich and intense, you only need a piece or two to satisfy your cravings.
The Dark Salted Brown Butter organic chocolate bar is also made from dark Ecuadorian chocolate and has due to the added butter naturally got a beautiful smooth buttery taste. It also has Celtic sea salt added, and it literally melts on your tongue.
Next we have the have the Sea Salt and the Salted Caramel Chocolate Truffles. These individually wrapped chocolate balls have a shell of dark Ecuadorian chocolate and a centre made of nourishing coconut oil and speckled with prized Fleur de Sel de Guerande, a sea salt hand-harvested from ancient salt villages in France. The Salted Caramel truffle has the addition of buttery, caramel blended throughout the creamy filling.
And both of these truffles are nothing short of amazing. A chocolate lovers dream. I cannot even say which one I prefer, as they are both so delicious.
I have to say that overall I didn’t really think that sea salt and chocolate would be a good mix, but I am so surprised at how nice the combination is. I wish I’d come across these sooner! And again, they are so concentrated and rich, that personally, just one truffle is sufficient, although if I don’t put them away immediately, I find it difficult to resist a second..
What I also love is that all the chocolates from ALTER ECO are made from the highest quality ingredients from around the world. The chocolates are Certified Organic, Fairtrade Certified, Carbon Neutral Certified, and not made with any genetically modified ingredients or gluten ingredients. The company also works towards creating minimal waste products aiming for a 100% compostable packaging as well as offsetting carbon emissions. What’s not to love? I know that I’ve certainly found some new favourites and will be sure to check out the rest of the range when I’m next in the supermarket or health food store – there’s among others a Dark Twist with added tangy fruit and also a Dark Almond that I’ve got my eyes on…YUM!!
You can find more information about ALTER ECO Chocolates on their website
The products are available for purchase from major natural food retailers and health food stores, independent supermarket and pharmacies and Coles.
The Chocolate Bars have an RRP each of $5.99 (80g), while the Chocolate Truffles have an RRP each of $9.99 (108g)

PRODUCT REVIEW: NOTOX SUPERFOOD SNACK BOX - JULY 2014
It has only been just over a week since the June box arrived,
so imagine my surprise when the Notox Superfood Snack Box showed up yesterday. Here are my
thoughts;
Coconut Magic Pure Organic Virgin Coconut Oil – Sample Size,
20ml
Wallaby Superfoodie Breakfast & Nut Slice – Full Size,
48g
COCOLA Premium Organic Fairtrade Milk Chocolate – Full Size,
100g
What They Say:

new to healthy living, want to find non-toxic products, or are overwhelmed by
the choices available, this is the box for you! We hand pick a range
of the best natural, clean living products and pack them up in a surprise box
for you to enjoy each month. It has a little bit of everything!
The box
contains 5- 8 products including in a mix of full sized, travel and sample size
products
All products
are natural, organic, ecofriendly or ethical, organic food, health
food or super-foods, natural and organic skincare and beauty
products, wellness, eco home or healthy lifestyle products.
What I Say:
As always this month’s box arrived in a bright green postage
box with a lot of ‘feel good’ little sentences on the lid, such as ‘Love what
you do’, Stay healthy & happy’. ‘Dream big’, and ‘Define your own success’
and these are the goodies I found inside;
CrioBru Brewed Cocoa 100% Roasted & Ground Cocoa Beans –
Full Size, 340g
When I first saw this pack I thought it was a pack of
coffee, so being huge coffee drinkers I got quite excited, also as I saw that
it is for use in a drip coffee maker. But after a second look at the pack I
realised that it was in fact made from cocoa beans and not coffee beans. The
beans brews like coffee and has flavour notes of green banana and blackberries,
and are chock full of antioxidants and magnesium, to help boost your immune system
and increase your energy (which I desperately need), and support your heart,
brain and bones. It also contains chromium and zinc to help maintain healthy
blood sugar levels (maybe it will actually help stop my afternoon sugar
cravings). One cup contains just 10 calories, and absolutely no sugar or fat. I
don’t think I would have picked this up in the shop myself, but I am quite
excited to try it out.
Peeled Snacks Apple Clusters – Full Size, 18g
These are bite-sized organic apple pieces and berries rolled
in clusters, and just the type of snack that I love. They give you a full
serving of fruit, yet with no refined sugar, no fat, and no preservatives. I
can’t wait to taste these..
Brookfarm Muesli Bar baked with macadamias and cranberries –
Full Size, 35g
This muesli bar is made from all natural ingredients
including whole grains, dried fruit, macadamias and seeds. I love muesli bars
and always find it handy to have one in my handbag (or should I say nappy bag)
for those days where I’ve been up extremely early to feed our little boy that I
feel like I need a second serve of breakfast before lunch. And I love
macadamias so I already know that I’ll love this bar.
I think I may be a touch behind the times, but I have
actually never tried coconut oil. Not really sure why as it is said to be
extremely healthy for you. I think it may be because I don’t really like the
smell of coconut (oh why does it always seem to be used in sunscreen lotions!).
This certified organic, unrefined, and cold pressed raw coconut oil can
supposedly be eaten straight out of the jar, or of course be used for cooking,
but can also be used as a lip balm or body moisturiser. A true multi-tasking
product.
Another breakfast bar which will come in handy when I’ve got
the cravings and feeling a little tired (may just be a little later today with
my little boy deciding to wake up at 4.30pm, and unable to get him back to
sleep!). It is made from raw ingredients including almond, cashews, raspberries
and apples – sounds so delicious. YUM.
YAY. A block of chocolate. How could you not love this. I
admit that I prefer dark chocolate, but a good block of milk chocolate will
never go astray in our house. And this block is made from 100% organic
ingredients so it is pure and chemical free, and doesn’t contain any
preservatives either. And as a bonus it is Fairtrade product, ensuring that all
cocoa growers have been looked after in producing the cocoa beans. This
chocolate bar won’t survive long in our house, especially seeing I won’t be
able to hide this one from my husband.
So there you have it, the contents in the July Superfood Snack Notox box.
I love the idea behind this superfood snack box that contains a variety of
chocolate, cocoa beans, and snack bars, and hence it is quite different from
standard Notox Box, which also contained some food
products and other lifestyle and household products. I always snack during
the day, especially when I am running low on energy, which seems to be all the
time these days, so I love to be introduced to new and healthier options, and
yet again, Notox Box has managed to introduce me to some new brands and products
that I would otherwise probably not come across, and I am quite excited to try
out every single product. As soon as I’ve got some photos taken of all the
products, I’m digging in….

Have you ever heard of the Notox box? Heard or tried any of
the products in this month’s box? Keen on subscribing?
