October marks the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and as always, there are an increasing number of companies that bring out pink products, and donate a large percentage of the proceeds of their sales to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). One brand that is huge supporter, is Bobbi Brown Cosmetics who continues to empower women and as a part of the Estée Lauder Companies group, and over the years, the group has raised over $US70 million globally to support breast cancer education and research. This year, Bobbi Brown is honouring Breast Cancer Campaign’s 25th Anniversary. So this year Bobbi Brown supports the campaign, with the Pink Peony Illuminating Bronzing Powder Set...

The Bobbi Brown Pink Peony Illuminating Bronzing Set includes a rosy pink shade of Illuminating Bronzing Powder and a cute pink mini Face Blender Brush. And the powder is seriously pretty. The round black signature compact has a large internal mirror and the pretty powder is embossed with the symbol for breast cancer awareness, the ribbon. The actual powder is super soft and fine.

I am not really sure why it is called a bronzer.. Yes, you can dust it lightly over the skin for a shimmering look, but in my opinion it serves better as a blush. And I absolutely love it as a blush. The pink shade is a medium shade, and on the lips, it gives a gorgeous natural rosy pink flush, with a nice shimmering glow, yet without being too shiny or glittery. It is quite pigmented, so you can either sweep it on for a light look, or build it up as you like. 

This ultra-soft and smooth pressed powder delivers a shimmering, sun-kissed glow and flatters a wide range of skin tones. It is such a gorgeous shade that is perfect for everyday use.

The cute little brush has a pink handle and super soft white hairs, and it is just such a gorgeous addition to the set.

I am so in love with this set, and I already know it will be my go-to blush as we head towards summer. You can get your hands on one too, but hurry, as remember that this is limited edition, and they will without a doubt sell out fast, as who can resist a pretty blush that support an amazing cause at the same time.

Mid Last year Bobbi Brown launched a limited edition range called Telluride. I was kindly sent a few of the products for trial and feature - but sadly, just a few weeks later our newborn ended up at the Royal Children's Hospital where he was to stay the next 4.5 months. Blogging therefore, naturally took a backseat during this period, and review of these products simply had to wait... Until now..

The Telluride Collection was inspired by the warm tawny glow by the later afternoon sun in one of Bobbi Browns favourite destinations, Telluride, which is nestled amongst soaring mountains in Colorado. Each product in this collection is designed to deliver the gorgeous glow that the late afternoon sun in Telluride casts on the skin. Featuring the luminous shades of tawny nude, rose gold, and pink bronzy, this collection makes it easy to achieve that sought-after natural, sun-kissed glow.

Who doesn't love the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. This edition in Sunset Pink contains shades that instantly gives the skin a pick-me-up shade by warming the complexion. The brick contains five different shades from a very pale nude peach, two different shades of rose, and two different shades of brown. And from you apply it all over your face, you immediately get a beautiful glow and radiance thanks to the ultrafine pure pearl pigments that reflect radiant and light. It is perfect for sweeping all over your face as well as shoulders and décolleté, but also works a treat used as an eyeshadow or even on your lips with a touch of clear gloss on top. A must-have in every makeup kit!

These products have the perfect peachy pink shade that is perfect for use during summer. The Lipstick has the tiniest touch of shimmer and feels so beautiful and moisturising on the lips. In spite of its relative pale colour, it has a very good wear of a few hours, and when it does fade, it does so evenly, leaving a nice stain behind. The Sunset Lipgloss has a higher gloss finish, and can naturally be used both on its own, as well as on top of the lipstick, if you feel like you want the more intense colour, but with the gloss. Personally, however, I do prefer to use them individually. The lipliner, naturally matches both the lipstick and the lipgloss, and helps make both stay put longer all while making your pout looking full and perfect!

  

Overall this is an incredible collection, and I'm so in love with every single product, although the standout is the Eye Palette closely followed by the Shimmer Brick. I will cry the day I hit the pan of these products, as they are so beautiful wearable and of such a high quality, but hopefully by then, Bobbi Brown will have launch a new range of equally beautiful products.. Here's hoping!

XMAS GIFT IDEA:BOBBI BEIGE GOLD LONG-WEAR EYE KIT FROM ADORE BEAUTY

Personally I’m very excited about this kit. I LOVE Bobbi Brown products, and being on the run with a baby and a toddler means that I’ve hardly got any time for myself to get ready, so I rely on products which are quick and easy to use. Hence I was particularly excited about the Eye Shadow Stick. And it has been love at first sight, as this super wearable beige gold stick with just a touch of shimmer is perfect for a simple and natural every day wear, but it is also super easy and so quick to apply and stays put all day. And I love that you can build up the colour so to make it more intense if you like. I’d definitely consider purchasing more of these!

 

 

 

 

 

  

I also use a liquid eye liner every day, but usually in a pen form, so not so used to a pot and a brush, but once I got the hang of it, this little pot of eye liner is pretty amazing too, and as the name suggests stays put all day long. The shade Espresso Ink is a very dark brown that is again very wearable for everyday casual wear as it is not quite as ‘harsh’ as a black eyeliner, whilst still being a solid dark shade.

 

The Eye Liner Brush is obviously a necessary tool for a pot of eye liner, and the quality is second to none. I would have preferred the tip of the brush to be slightly thinner so I could draw a finer line, but then again, it may just be me totally inexperienced with applying eye liner this way!

  

Next up is the mascara, which as I expected is pretty good. It has a large soft brush that makes it easy to coat every single lash, making them both longer and giving them lots of volume at the same time. One thing that I also love is that it is immediately usable without clumping or dispensing too much mascara – don’t you just hate it when new mascaras do that! And it also feels super gentle on the lashes and doesn’t irritate my otherwise sensitive eyes.

  

Also included is a small bottle of the Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover. And this is pretty effective, removing all traces of the makeup instantly without the need to drag or pull at the sensitive eye area. It is a little greasy, but I feel that’s standard for makeup removers targeted at long-wearing and waterproof makeup, but as I always use a treatment cleanser after I’ve removed my makeup that removes any greasy residue afterwards anyway.

 

Finally, the kit also included a small sachet sample of the Hydrating Eye Cream. My immediate verdict is that it is a very nice and effective cream, but being such a small sample, it is obviously difficult to speak of the long-term results. But certainly I do like and could consider purchasing again.

  

Overall, I think this is a really good Makeup Kit from Bobbi Brown – I really enjoy every single product, and I know they will quickly become everyday favourites. I really love the eye shadow stick, which is probably the stand-out product for me, but I am quickly warming to the eye liner pot, and the mascara you can only love too. The only think that I feel would have been an ideal inclusion into the kit as well would have been an eyeliner pencil for the waterline, but then, I have heaps of those already.

  

So all around a fantastic makeup kit, for a classic everyday neutral look, and the perfect way to get introduced to the makeup from Bobbi Brown.

Pink Ribbon Products for Breast Cancer Awareness 2013

October marks the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and as always, there are an increasing number of companies that bring out pink products, and donate a large percentage of the proceeds of their sales to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). This is such a great cause, so I always make sure to stock up on certain products during October – I remember one year when pink M&Ms were released, but I am unfortunately yet to see those in the shops, which is such a shame as it did give me a guilt free reason to stock up on M&Ms! Anyway, here are some of the special and limited edition products that are available;
