Unfortunately, I haven’t not been blessed with great skin. It has always been prone to breakouts and acne, and sadly it, and when they eventually clear up, sadly they often leave me with dark marks that take ages and ages to fade again, if they do!
Lately I’ve put a few other products from Peter Thomas Roth to the test including the Glycolic Range (read about it here), the Water Drench Hydrating Toner Mist (read more here), and the Rose Stem Cell Range (Read more here), and I’ve been exceptionally impressed with all, so I was very excited to be putting the Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener* to the test too.
The Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener is made using a concentration of 10% THD Ascorbate, an ultra-stable scientific breakthrough ingredient that is 50 X more powerful than traditional Vitamin C to help brighten the skin. In addition, it also has added Gwennis, an active algae extract, that helps reduce the look of dark spot size by up to 75%, Angelys, an angelica root extract and 2% Ferulic Acid, to help camouflage and reduce the appearance of dark spots, while 3% Vitamin E , Aloe and Allantoin help hydrate and comfort the look of skin, and 2% Ferulic Acid, all of which help camouflage and reduce the appearance of dark spots, while providing antioxidant benefits.
The Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener is to be used on clean skin twice daily, prior to any other serums or moisturisers, and it is not actually to be applied to the whole face, but rather as a spot treatment to the affected areas.
It has a pleasant scent and a light creamy consistency and it absorbs quickly without any greasiness. I have only been using it for a few weeks, and targeting some areas where I’ve had some horrid hormonal acne breakouts in the last few months that have left my skin with some very dark marks.
I know that nothing works instantly, but already after a few weeks of using this, I have to say that I am impressed as those dark spots along with some hyperpigmentation have reduced dramatically in appearance. I was at a point where a foundation on its own didn’t cover these dark marks, but a good concealer was always required too, and I haven’t left the house without.
However, since using this Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener, I actually feel the dark spots and marks have now faded so much that finally again feel confident in my skin without any makeup.
The Potent-C Targeted Spot Brightener is not exactly cheap at $90 for 15ml, but it is very concentrated so you only need a small amount on targeted areas and it seriously does make such a tremendous difference that it is worth every cent. I am already dreading the day I run out and know I will definitely be restocking as well as I am now keener than ever putting more products from the Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C range to the test.
